About this property

American Indian Decorated Log Cabin On Toccoa River Awaits Your Arrival!

Nested in front of the Blue Ridge national forest, and above the Toccoa River, this cabin is the ultimate escape from the hustle of any large city. The American Indian décor, relaxing porch/balcony and river front make for a relaxing getaway. The cabin is an easy drive to the town of Blue Ridge (20 min) & Dahlonega (30 min), and near the Appalachian Trail (10 min). The Fish Hatchery is only 4 miles up the road, and there are plenty of hiking trails near by as well as waterfalls to see.
Cabin sleeps 8, comfortably. 2 Queen size beds, 2 Twin size beds and 1 Queen size comfortable sofa bed. Cabin includes a large canoe & floating tubes, outdoors grill and an outdoors fire pit, a swing, washer & drier, VCR and plenty of movies, puzzles & games for the entire family.
Go fishing, swim, hike, canoe, grill out, read, or just sit on the porch & take in the sound of the river & the birds. You will feel refreshed and relaxed as you enjoy God's country.
All you need to bring is your food. We provide everything else. Relax, enjoy & decompress!!

Please do not take decorations off the walls and keep children from playing on the furniture. Neither the décor or furnishings are to be used as toys. It is also important that you conserve water. A well supplies water to all the cabins on the same road. No baths, car washes or excessive water use are recommended as they can drain the well from water. The water is safe for drinking, however you are welcomed to bring bottled water, if you choose.
Thank you for respecting our property and for your cooperation.

Perfect riverfront view and location

We love every second of our stay at this home. It was a perfect location! We went hiking and visited the swing bridge. We sat on the porch and drank coffee while taking in what the mountains and the river had to offer.

Great rustic cabin

The cabin was very cute and cozy. It was clean and secluded which we loved. It was a bit small for our family of eight - but since we spent most of our time exploring the area it was the perfect place for resting in between adventures

private mountain retreat

Large mountain cabin with view of river. Quiet, peaceful retreat for a couple or plenty of room for a large group. Very cozy, nicely decorated cabin. Enjoyed our close drive to the fish hatchery and hike along the scenic river. Upper and lower balcony sets it apart from other cabins. Looking forward to returning.

Amazing

This cabin was amazing! My 9year old son and I had the perfect get away weekend at this cabin! Cathie was very responsive and a top notch host! Plenty of things to do, games, cassette tapes for the vibes, right on the Toccoa river! Fish hatchery right up the road, great BBQ at Wild Cat BBQ, quick breakfast and small grabs at Copper Creek Store. Suspension bridge a must see! Downtown Blue Ridge only 40 minute drive!

Winter Retreat

We loved the privacy of this house. It is tacked in the woods and you cannot hear or see anyone else around if you do not want to. It rained a lot while we were up there but we enjoyed the coziness of the fire and snuggling with our blankets on the porch listening to the river. The place is clean, well decorated and plenty of amenities (liked the crock pot, which we used). There was a bottle of wine and crackers waiting for us there, that was a nice touch. We will be back this summer for sure. We want to go rafting on the river.

Very relaxing cabin

This cabin feels like a tree house from the back deck. The sounds of the river are amazing. We had everything we needed for cooking and used the grill often. The lower level fire pit is about 50 steps above the river and makes for a pleasant spot to spend an evening. The deck on the river below was our favorite spot to enjoy coffee. For you fitness folks, you'll get your steps in going up and down to the river. The steps are well maintained and easily navigated. The drive into the residence was unexpected and a bit entertaining. The road starts with an uphill turn. This was covered in wet leaves which did little for traction. We managed fine and mastered the effort after the first go. I'm sure this is less exciting when dry and without loads of fresh Fall leaves. Those same leaves made for an awesome view out back. The wood burning stove was running often, we loved it. The owners had a massive stack of firewood for us. No wifi and weak cell inside. We learned to spend more time on the back deck when we needed to check email or make calls. That became an odd bonus that had us congregating on the deck soaking up the sounds of the river. A lovely drive to Aska, Blairsville or Blue Ridge. We'll be back. The owners were superb to work with and responsive. A bargain for the price.

LOVED THE CABIN

What an awesome place! Cathie was super responsive, the directions to get the cabin up and running were super easy to follow. The river that it sits off of is really peaceful. It's just far away enough from town to feel like you are aways from everything, but close enough to Blue Ridge to be convenient. We would definitely recommend this cabin to for a great getaway.

Great Cabin for Fall camping

We used this cabin as a home base for a couple of days of fly fishing around the Chattahoochee National Forest. The cabin had plenty of space and we made use of the fire pit both nights. Having a complete kitchen was helpful for making meals. We caught creek chubs and war paint shiners in the River below the cabin. We drove to the Fish Hatchery as well. Our most productive area was the Delayed Harvest section of the Toocoa.

Awesome fishing on the Toccoa!

I had an amazing stay! The property is exactly as it is described. If you’re looking for a quiet, trout fishing getaway, this is your spot. The stairs down from the cabin literally step off into the water. I drove to multiple locations but honestly had my best fishing right from the steps of the cabin for all three species of trout. The only other spot I might recommend is deep hole rec area (about 4 minutes away). The deeper water there provides a shot at landing some bigger fish. Overall amazing stay!!

Family Getaway

I wanted a remote getaway from work. This cabin was it. It’s absolutely beautiful and prefect for a long weekend getaway. Cell service isn’t great, but I knew that when booking. My teen lost the cabin key and Cathie was so sweet and helped us quickly. Beware of the stair though. I fell down them the first day.

Beautiful place

The cabin was in a lovely location. We used the tubes and had a perfect 1 hour trip down the river. We had a problem getting into the cabin but the host responded quickly. We are not big internet users and the wifi was not good. There was no cabinet space available for the food we brought which was ok since we only stayed 3 nights.

Awesome cabin!

We gad such a good time on our stay. Our Marine was home on leave and all he wanted to do was fish. The cabin offered wverytbing we ever wanted and more. It stormed every night so the internet was here and there. I wasn't there for the internet just to spend some time with my baby! Wr made shores on the fire pit, played games, and even put a puzzle together. It is a beautiful place and so thankful for Kathie sharing it with us!

We bought the cabin as our escape form the hustle and bustle of life in Atlanta. We have enjoyed every vacation we have taken to Suches ever since then. We have take countless friends and acquaintances with us over the years and we are always asked if we ever rent it. Because of the unique decor and beautiful furniture we held back from renting, but it's time to let others enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the mountains, the river and the relaxation we find so therapeutic. This is a place to relax and decompress.

Why they chose this property

There are a lot of cabins in Blue Ridge that are big & elegant & have all of the amenities you can think of. Our cabin is unique, it is cozy and it is beautiful.
The unique American Indian decor of our cabin was inspired by the movie Dances With Wolves, and the log furniture was build in Montana.
Our cabin was designed to transport you to another world (one without stress, without anxiety and without modern devices that keep you from spending time with each other); it was designed to help you slow down time; it was designed to keep you focused on nature (on the sound of the river, on the sound of the birds, on the sound of the wind, and the sound of the rustling of the leaves). It was designed to encourage you to talk and listen to each other, to listen to music (we prefer American Indian music), to read a book, to put together a puzzle, to play a table game, take a walk by the river, or spend hours fishing on our property. Most of all, our cabin was designed to be a getaway to the mountains to 'decompress'. And that is what everyone who has ever been there brags about.
We hope you can have the same experience.

What makes this property unique

You will fall in love with the open floor plan, the Indian wall decorations (most of which are Cherokee), and the privacy of the property. You will fall in love with the river which is perfect for summer swimming and fishing. And if you are lucky enough and there is a rain storm up there, you will see the sheets of rain pass by the covered front porch as if it were parading just for you.
In the spring & summer you will fall in love with swimming in the river or canoeing to the swinging bridge (2 hr trip) or hiking part of the Appalachian Trail.
At any given time you will see herds of deer and a occasional black bear, since the Blue Ridge mountains are their habitat.
Suches is a paradise for the outdoors adventurer. From our cabin you can explore the Appalachian Trail (2 -3 miles away), Benton Mackay Trail, Duncan Ridge Trail, Cooper Creek Trail, Blood Mountain Archeological Area, Swinging Bridge, Sea Creek Falls, Cooper Creek Wildlife Management Area, and much more.
