We had a wonderful time, seeing the Delaware River in the backyard and the beautiful colors on the trees.
Great October weather. Thank you, to our SUPER DUPERRR host Mr. Julius. You outdid yourself!
We were given plenty of activities to do in the area. There was nothing to complain about, everything was perfect.
Lovely property with the Delaware River in the backyard. We went rafting only 5 minutes away and also the original Woodstock site is only 30 minutes away.

It could have been better
Beds are horrible, house is old but there has been zero upgrades since it was built. 1 bed room was so creepy that we just kept the door closed. Even my dogs were uncomfortable . They were glued to my wife. We even left a night early.
River on the other hand was fantastic.
The view was spectacular! Very peaceful. We even caught fish! The house had a lot of room. The kitchen was large so it fit all 7 of us. The checkin/check out process was easy. The property owner was super nice and helpful. We would definitely rent this again and recommend it to others.
The property is large, and the view is beautiful. However, do not stay during a heatwave because the AC is only in the bedrooms.

Father/Daughter Getaway
Great location, both the house itself and the area attractions. We really appreciated the owners personal greeting upon check-in and informing us about the area. We pre-planned a kayaking trip and hiking, but didn’t realize how close we were to Bethel (Woodstock) and didn’t know about the local Saturday farmers market. Those two attractions definitely added to our getaway!
Generally very clean, just missed a couple areas.
The main reason for 4 of 5 stars is basically the comfort of the beds in the older part of the house compared to my other house rentals over the years (in addition to mattress quality/age, no box spring or proper platform base led to unusual morning back aches). Other points of note: bocce and horseshoe areas were overgrown/not useable and the wifi didn’t work in the older part of the house.
Overall we enjoyed our time in Barryville!
We came for a quick visit with a family member in a wheelchair. The property worked well for her with a beautiful deck for enjoying the river and an accessible bedroom/bathroom. The original part of the house has beautiful wood and fire place and lots of character. The kitchen is stocked with nice pans.
I think this property would be very nice in the summer but for a rainy cold October weekend, the house was cold and everyone was cold at night… ie no extra blankets, no heat…
2nd time at the location love it here you have to go anywhere else just soak up that river and relax. Thank you pops for another great experience see you soon
Older home on several levels with direct view and access of Delaware River. Host Julius lives nearby. Very nice older man. Weather very hot and rainy which made house very hot and humid. One AC in upstairs bedroom. Grab bars in master bath helpful. Bathtubs, toilets, sinks and sheets freshly cleaned prior to arrival. Washer and dryer in laundry off one bedroom. We most enjoyed river rafting from Reber Rafting nearby and tour of 1969 Woodstock site in Bethel Park. Playground on site with swings and games. Parking outdoors on site for two cars. We had fire pit fires and our own fireworks. Wood available for purchase on site. Fishing along the river bank. We used worms and lures. Hiking nearby. Npo bike trails nearby. Internet not strong enough for zoom or video conferencing. Desk surfaces available in several rooms. Phone could text most of the time, but not call. Back up land line present for emergencies. Collection of books and games helped pass the rainy times. Pet friendly. Grocery store in Eldred very important, as kitchen small and you need shop often. Suggest bring a big cooler to place on deck for beverages. Good rural family escape from NY city.
The house was very spacious and clean, and the outdoor space was even more spacious and the river view was breathtaking (both from the living room and outside). Julius was a very helpful host with many local store/restaurant recommendations. Our kids enjoyed the playground as well.
We loved this place, Julius so knowledgeable about places to go, restaurants . You must try the Homestead Restaurant and Back to Bakers, see the Zane Grey house and absolutely DO NOT MISS the Woodstock museum in Bethel Woods. Rafting is also a must and Julius can get you a discount. The house is basic, but evokes an earlier era with some beautiful furniture, plenty of fireplaces, great deck, comfy beds, playground next door for kids upstairs bedroom is awesome. TV is Roku which did take us old codgers a bit to figure out, right on scenic Rte 97 but not noisy and back big enough for friends and short staircase to second yard and water, didn’t see the eagles but did see fox and deer. Take the family there is room and have a blast. Nancy and Paul
To start off, Julius the owner was very welcoming and showed me and my family everything the property had to offer. He didn't take up too much of our time but wanted to make sure we felt comfortable. The house was terrific and had a great layout. We used the grill a couple times on the big deck which overlooked the giant property and the river. My family kept saying how peaceful and tranquil it felt. Between the deer, Bald eagles, ground hogs etc making appearances plus the fish we were catching was a huge bonus. Each night we all sat around the campfire and roasted marshmallows as the moon reflected off the river. What a sight by the way. We did an 11 mile kayak trip down the river which was so fun and scenic. We even passed the property which looked pretty cool from the water. VRBO allows up to 5 stars but I'm giving this property 10 stars. We will definitely be renting here again in the future!
