Perfect Long Weekend Getaway

The house and property were perfect for our weekend trip with our 2 dogs. Close to the town of Windham but just far enough away so it feels secluded. The property is magical and so peaceful. Sunrises and sunsets over the mountains were beautiful. Woke up early every morning with my coffee and sat on the deck or walked around out by the pond. The dogs had a blast exploring the property and pond and hunting for frogs.

Lovely Weekend

We very much enjoyed our weekend on the property. The kitchen is well equipped, the living room very spacious with more than enough sitting space for everyone. The beds were comfortable. The property is on top of the mountain which makes it remote (exactly what we were looking for,) but it's only 7 minutes to town where all the restaurants and supermarkets are. It has the best of both worlds.

Great Weekend Getaway

The Mountain House was an amazing stay for my birthday weekend. My friends and I rented the home so we could decompress and disconnect for the weekend. We spent hours swimming in the super clean pond and sitting in the sun on the Adirondack chairs. When it was time to take a sun break we'd sit inside on the long dinner table that's equipped with benches (as many as 10 folks can fit) for board games and dinner. The home is located in a quiet bucolic setting and has all the amenities that one could need for time away from home. The town of Windham has a main street with shops and a market for quick grocery runs. The property is large enough to hang with friends, but also to step away for some alone time if need be. Definitely can see us booking this property again to spend time away from the city!

Wonderful clean property minutes from Windham Mountain.

We enjoyed our stay at The Mountain home. Clean ski house with plenty of space for our family of five. Had everything we needed. Would love to come back in Spring to enjoy the pond and outdoors!

Thanksgiving getaway

This home is everything we expected. Great location, secluded, but yet close to town. We only had 5 of us, so there was plenty of room. I only give it a 4 for cleanliness, because it was clean, but worn/dated. I do not mean this as a downgrade by any means, but just do not want you to believe you are getting the Ritz as I have seen from other unfair reviews of this home. Would definitely stay here again.

Weekend away with Family.

This is our second stay here! And once again we had some much fun. I would recommend this property to everyone. Perfect location. Nice, clean and spacious house. Very bright. The mornings are beautiful! To sit on the porch and watch sunrise is just soo memorizing. We definitely will be back again. 5 stars all the way!

Enjoyed our stay, but

We stayed in Windham for a week - two families with teenage kids and a dog. The location is great - quiet, convenient, and close to everything we wanted to do. The territory of the house is beautiful - serene pond, and a large yard big enough for dog running and kids playing, shaded area by the fire pit is a nice touch. The house is large enough for everyone not to feel crowded, nice sized bedrooms with comfortable beds. What we did not like - the house is run down with moldy smell downstairs masking with a cheap air fresheners. Some in our group had an allergic reaction, and we had to find and remove every single one of those fresheners from electrical outlets. Outdated showers with very old and gross towels, in quantity not enough for 8 people. Note - laundry machines are in the twin bedroom, making it weird to sleep there and not convenient to use. Kitchen is a good size with all needed appliances, but kitchenware is in a bad condition ( bring your own skillet if you plan to cook). Living room is ok with a nice modern fireplace, but, again, sofas covered with some cheap covers that don’t stay in place. Overall we loved our stay, but it was most likely one time rental for our group.

Great weekend getaway.

The house was perfect for a weekend getaway. Lots of room, very well kept and clean and has everything you need. Property was beautiful and even with snow all around we were still able to enjoy a nice campfire by the pond during the day.

Great home for ski weekend

Our family found the home clean, comfortable, welcoming and well located for skiing and enjoying Windham. The property manager was very helpful and responsive. We enjoyed a beautiful snowy weekend. After a snowy night we woke up to find the driveway plowed.

Pond and s’mores!!

We had the best time with our three girls. we kayaked, swam and floated around the beautiful pond in inner tubes. We ate all our meals on the deck and cooked s’mores on the fire pit. The house was in excellent condition and had all the little things you might need - toiletries, olive oil, spices etc.Thank you!

Perfect family getaway

We had a great time at the mountain house. Lovely home. The children enjoyed kayaking, swimming in the pond and making s’mores by the fire pit. Close enough to town with restaurants, shops and a few minutes away from Windham Mountain. Lynn was great and answered all my emails in a timely manner. We will definitely try to go back again.

Cozy lakeside cottage

The house is very clean and well cared for with many special touches (new bedding and mattresses and lots of kitchen extras). Lynn, the property manager, was so responsive and helpful. The view from the back porch is perfect. Some notes in case it’s relevant - the bedrooms are on the bottom floor and the house is older so sound proofing isn’t amazing and the house is mostly carpeted. There is a very close neighbor on one side and a house across the street and otherwise you are in a secluded space. Overall a great place to be and super kid friendly.

User Friendly in a lovely setting.

We had a great couple of days in Windham at this house. The location is convenient to everything, skiing, town, etc. Upon arrival the keys were in the box and entry was easy. The house itself is spacious and has everything in its place. The beds were comfortable and everything was meticulously clean. The greatest feature was the gorgeous property with pond, grounds and woods. It’s by no means luxurious but provided a great, comfortable respite after the holidays. Thank you for having us.

Windham weekend

The pictures don't do this house justice. The living space is a panorama of large windows with beautiful views. Outdoors was a treat -- we spent a lot of time relaxing by the pond in Adirondack chairs. Our two little grandchildren loved the big rock, seeing deer eat apples under the tree, looking for spiders by the lean-to, and having lots of space to play in the yard with games we brought from home. With little children and a couple of good chefs, we decided to bring all of our food and cooked in. The kitchen was very well equipped and workable, and the open living space kept all of us connected with conversation and an eye on the little folks. Even when it rained, we could enjoy looking at the landscape through all the large windows. Just one suggestion: there were lots of lamps, but a good reading light bulb in each of the rooms, including the living room, would have been nice. I would definitely recommend the Mountain House to others and hope to return.

Great place for relaxing

Had a great weekend with my family and fur babies in the Mountain House Retreat, The check in and out was a smooth process, the views are amazing and the land is beautiful, the pond is bigger than it looks in the pictures, we had a blast kayaking and just sitting outside. Went hiking to Windham Path which is beautiful as well. Only thing for the summer is a little too hot inside but we bought our own fans, so the heat was not a deal breaker, we are simple people and I can say this place was perfect. Thank you for a relaxing weekend.

Perfect Home for Skiing Trip

Well maintained and clean property. Really great layout in the living room and kitchen with open floor plan that is perfect for groups and a large table that can seat 10 for dinner. We got over a foot of snow during our stay and the driveway was plowed regularly. Ownership was responsive to our questions and follow ups. Overall would recommend!
