About this property

The Nook is warmly inviting and attractive quality built one bedroom private getaway opposite the Barwon River. Guests can enjoy being able to relax and spread out in the spacious and surprisingly large living and deck areas for a single bedroom apartment which are north facing.
Polished floorboards and quality timber furniture and fittings create a relaxed feel. Other features include a queen sized bedroom, portacot , LCD TV DVD, and for something a little different, an upright piano for those that want to tickle the ivories.
Split system air conditioning; bathroom with shower recess and separate toilet laundry and washing machine. A lock up garage is also available on request for your car or boat.
Wake up to the sound of birds happily chirping and enjoy the calmness and serenity. Just across the road are fishing jetties and boat ramps as well as a walking track which gently meanders alongside the Barwon River via a boardwalk.

The Nook is situated in Barwon Heads just an hour and 15 minutes from the Melbourne CBD and 20 minutes from Geelong. Barwon Heads has much to offer with fantastic beaches, golf courses, cafes, restaurants and other retail outlets to name a few, all within an easy distance. Located on the Bellarine Peninsula, The Nook is in close reach to wineries, boutique local providores, the Queenscliff and Portarlington Ferry services.

Visiting family and friends

Property was very well equipped and in a quiet location. We were visiting family and friends on the Bellarine peninsula during our week long stay. The cottage was in a central location for travelling around the Bellarine peninsula. The only negative for us was that it is a long walk to the cafes and shops in Barwon Heads so we were in the car a lot.

Had a relaxing 4 nights in this tranquil escape from hustle and bustle of city life. Especially loved the cottage garden and proximity to river and walking tracks. About a 2km walk to the high street. Loved Barwon heads vibe cafes shops etc

Quick stay for a wedding

Great getway

We had a short stay here to catch up with family and it was perfect for our needs. The place has everything you need and the town/river beach a short drive away. Seamless check in and exit. Had a fabulous time with our toddler grandchild. Would stay again.

Great location!

The Nook is a comfortable, well located apartment, for me close to family and friends. Quiet neighbourhood, helpful hosts, light filled and with a lovely aspect. From the online pictures the outside deck looks more private than it is and perhaps could do with an awning on a sunny day.

Something out of the ordinary

Quaint but below our normal expectations of this type of accommodation. The host was responsive to issues, which was appreciated, but they shouldn't have arisen in the first place. The furniture is very dated and threadbare and the fact that there are no window treatments on the glass doors facing onto the road made us feel exposed, particularly at night, notwithstanding it is a quiet and secluded area of Barwon Heads. No instructions are left for guests, so we had to work things out for ourselves, or ask the question, including about the tv, which we found out after 5 days of our 10 day stay was new and hadn't been tuned. The power points tripped after the first night, necessitating another enquiry of the host, and we also had an infestation of ants to deal with. Whilst the pricing was reasonable, I would not go back unless the issues I've mentioned were addressed. Having experienced a number of accommodation provider platforms, I have been unimpressed with Stayz, both in their billing and website user-friendliness and will not use them again.

Would have loved to have stayed longer. Spectacular weather during the night just made The Nook all the more endearing. We want to visit in the Summer where we can enjoy your garden and beautiful surrounds. Just perfect.

A little hide away

A terrific little spot tucked away from the hustle and bustle of town centre. Peace and quiet. Only drawback is that the driveway entrance/exit is located in a very precarious corner position. A beaut little place. PS mozzie spray is required.
