'Darling on Garling' is perfectly located (8 kms from the heart of the city) in a quiet, tree lined cul-de-sac street just a few minutes walk from very reliable, far-reaching public transport.

This elevated, north east facing home is private and well protected by a motorised high front gate and surrounding high fences. It's comfortable and well designed layout easily accommodates 8 -10 people.

Ovals, parks and tennis courts abound in Lane Cove as well as a swimming centre. Ample opportunity to partake in cricket, football, tennis, aquatics. jogging or walking.
In Lane Cove strip shopping co-exists with malls and plazas. Coles, Woolworths and AIG supermarkets service the community along with many fine dining and clothing establishments.

Our tariff for the price/night is for exclusive occupancy of 8 plus persons being accommodated. This price/night is the same amount for any number of persons less/more than 8 persons (2 single fold-up beds available/sofa lounge).
Minimum period of stay - 3 nights.

The Owner resides, from time to time, in separate and private accommodation on the lower level and is available on call.

Great Holiday Accommodation
The property was excellent, with all amenities stocked before arrival. Met with host, Herb, at the door and he was very welcoming. The house is the perfect distance from the city, allowing for a quiet retreat after a busy day in the CBD. Beds were very comfortable and the AC is set in zones, which is perfect for those who fight over the thermostat. All in all, a home away from home!

Excellent stay! Kitchen was well stocked, host was generous with supplies. Bathrooms and bedrooms had plenty of linens. 8 min walk to bus stop and 25 min walk to shops. Plenty of space, though beds were worn. Pool table was an extra bonus surprise for kids!

Herb is a fabulous host; he provided everything we needed to kick us off and gave us full privacy once we were in. The house is great; the rooms are spacious and the fact we could have our dogs with us was brilliant. Highly recommended =; nothing missing from the property. Superb Vacation
Our family had a phenomenal vacation. The property is in a great location to enjoy day trips to Sydney and the many nearby beaches. Downtown Lane Cove West is only a mile away and provides easy access to groceries, restaurants, and many shops. We couldn’t have picked a better place to stay. The property itself is roomy, well appointed, and a comfortable place to relax between activities. It is a nice home away from home. Herb, the owner, is delightful. He went out of his way to be helpful throughout our stay and we had a lot of good laughs together. Herb, thanks for the wonderful stay. We will give you a shout next time we are in town.

Pet friendly home away from home
We stayed at Darling on Garling for 3weeks whilst our home was going through repairs. It was the perfect house and we instantly felt relaxed and at home as soon as we walked through the door. When we arrived Herb had supplied us with a welcome pack of milk, eggs, bread, butter, fruit and cereal which was amazing. The house was clean, spacious and warm. Perfect for our small dog with an enclosed area for him to walk around. Off street parking was great and just a 5min drive or a 15min walk to Lane Cove and it’s shops, bars and restaurants. I would not hesitate to recommend Herb and his lovely house. Thank you so much for letting us enjoy your lovely home. Louise

A Real Home with a Real Gentleman owner on site
This property is ultra comfortable, no fuss, and abundantly equipped. Two bedrooms each end make it wonderful for a family, or for a couple like us who each like their own bedroom. Two full bathrooms, and absolutely everything one could need to be comfortable for a longer stay. Herb is an absolute gentleman with a truly joyful spirit; although he definitely doesn't interfere and holds his own privacy in the residence below, he made our stay wonderfully enjoyable, and was willing to meet any need whatsoever. Actually, every need is already met. Even our moodle's. Lillibelle LOVED it. This is a place where you can move in, find the spice for your evening meal already waiting in the pantry. No hankering for a snack before you can get to a store - they're already there. And the pool table is also terrific! This is a lovely and comfortable oasis, with easy access all around Sydney. 20 minute fast bus service to the inner city, and easy if you have a car to main arteries to north, south, east and west. Parking on-site is excellent. Also really quiet, though there is a little plane noise at times. It's not intrusive, minimal, and contained because of plane curfew hours. You can sleep in TOTAL quiet. To balance: - except for the bedrooms which are all carpeted, the living area, with rugs, is tiled for easy maintenance. So if you're an oldie like me you might need comfy slippers! We recommend this property and its owner without hesitation - and we have already made sure we can come again! Enjoy...... Heather

Absolutely Amazing
I and my family really enjoyed our stay at the Darling on Garling! The house was great the location was convenient and the price was very affordable. But the best part was having the owner very close by and very helpful to us outlanders from the US. Herb made sure we were comfortable and helped us navigate the public transportation and also helped us with activities for the kids as well as pointing us to the local shops for food and beverage. I would recommend this location to all my friends.

Great Place to Stay
We stayed a week and thoroughly enjoyed the property. Had plenty of space and the pool table was great for the kids to kill time. Had friends visit one night and plenty of space for entertaining. Local Lane Cove shopping is close with plenty of eating options. The host is very friendly, and although he is on site, there was no issue with privacy. Stayed Jan 2016.

Simply Perfect - WYSIWYG!
The House is big and spacious with all the amenities required to make you feel right at home. 6 of us stayed there and it was so comfortable from the 2 verandas, large living room, ducted A/C, TV's including 1 in each bedroom, 10 foot snooker/pool table, large kitchen......the list goes on. Lovely suburb with local shops approx 4-5 mins drive away, Chatswood under 10 mins away (traffic pending) to large shopping malls and train into Sydney CBD. Herb was great, all too obliging with whatever from keeping the gardens immaculate through to stocking up the house with toilet paper, even just having a chat to. We loved our 2 weeks there and cannot recommend the house and Herb's hospitality more, thanks again.

Hello, my name is Herb - Darling on Garling commenced in 2014. My home is very welcoming, comfortable, private and spatially well organised, just the way, I hope, you would like it to be.
A number of families and their pets have enjoyed long term stays whilst their own homes are either being renovated or they are awaiting property settlement.
I take care of the property when I'm not travelling and reside, from time to time, in separate and private accommodation on the lower level.
I have 5 adult children and 14 grandchildren.
I'm friendly, helpful and always willing to oblige to ensure that your stay will be enjoyable and a wonderful living memory.

It is in a quiet cul-de-sac street with onsite and on street parking.
Fully fenced with an electric gate for security/safety. Protection for children and pets.
Nearby bus stops to the City of Sydney, Chatswood, MacQuarie and Burwood shopping malls.
The open plan design for living, dining and billiard table assists guests being together.
Plantation shutters offer safety, security, privacy and climate control..

What makes this property unique

The land on the eastern side is a storm water easement and on the western side there is a tennis court.
Trees and shrubs on all sides of the property.
Between each set of 2 bedrooms there is a bathroom these rooms are located on the western side to absorb the heat of the afternoon sun in the summer.
The patios on the east and south (BBQ) sides encourage alfresco dining.
