McKinley's Rest was built in around 1880 and was part of Quorn's famous Foster's retailing empire.[The historic Emporium supplied everything from farm machinery to glassware and haberdashery and closed in 2001].The house was fully renovated and upgraded in 2007 and is very comfortably and tastefully decorated with quality furnishings for home away from home accommodation. It is environmentally friendly, utilising it's own plentiful rainwater and has great insulation and reverse cycle air-conditioning, making it very comfortable in summer or winter.
