Border Cliffs River Retreat is a fantastic holiday home,accommodating up to eight people in 3 bedrooms.It is located on a 420acre farming property that borders the banks of the magnificent Murray River.The house is fully equipped for a comfortable stay and a secluded outdoor entertaining area with bbq facilities will have you enjoying the great outdoors at its best.
The accommodation is perfect for family holidays and lends itself as a great base for water activities.
Our location offers many activities for the water sports lover,canoers,bushwalkers,bird watchers,fishing enthusiasts and the breathtaking views offer artists an abundance of scenes to paint.Or simply sit back and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the scenic surrounds.

An ideal location for those who enjoy being close up with nature.The nearby Chowilla game reserve offers The Border Cliffs Wetland Trail starting near the Old Customs House and meandering through a wetland supported by the many creeks that run through the reserve.The wetland flora & fauna are highlights of this trail,especially the majestic river red gums and abundant birdlife.

The perfect hideaway

Absolutely love staying here and know it will be a new favourite to return to! The hosts are lovely and the home secluded amongst a gorgeous garden. Very peaceful, comfy beds and perfect location to access nearby brewery, the river and a short drive into the town. Will be returning soon!

Cliff Top Retreat

Lovely relaxing location. Great location. Owner very friendly and helpful. House needs a bit of work on windows and doors. At fair bit o rattling in the wind.

Fantastic and homey stay

From checkin to checkout it was incredible, great cozy little cottage well maintained gardens and grass to relax around and great private river access!

Peace and quiet

Great for a totally relaxing break. Lovely surroundings, house was comfortable, plenty of outdoor spaces to sit, read, think, write, paint - whatever your pleasure! Friendly hosts. No phone or wifi for us, but we understand there is a telstra tower nearby.

Peaceful relaxing stay in a top location!

Great value for money stay. The property was very clean, comfortable, quiet, spacious and provided everything we needed for our 2 night stay. It’s the first time staying at an orchard. The gardens were relaxing and inviting with an abundance of interesting birds. Excellent dark skies for those interested in seeing the stars. The host, while giving us plenty of privacy was friendly, interesting to chat to, and very accommodating. We definitely would stay at the property again in the future when we are next in the region.

We really enjoyed our stay, our border collie most of all we think! Loved the river walk and meal at Woolshed. House warm and comfortable.

Beautiful river retreat

Beautiful scenery surrounding the property with the orchid in flower and buzzing with bees. The bird life was flourishing and the bottlebrush outside the back garden was exquisite and full of birds day and night. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the beds were great. The house had a good peaceful vibe and very suitable for family and friends. The oranges were excellent for juicing and generous to allow us to access. Highly recommend staying here.

Such a beautiful dwelling to unwind and relax

The most relaxing place on earth…. So peaceful with only the sound of birds feeding in the morning….. Such a comfortable dwelling…. “Duke”is the property watch dog who is such a gracious and loving soul… He likes to drop in from time to time expecting a hug and a rub or maybe a little something off the BBQ… Thankyou SOOOO much Leith and Mandy 🙏🙏🙏

Great location, wonderfully peaceful, remote from the 'madding crowd' but still sufficiently adjacent to everything you might need. House well equipped - even egg cups! Hosts very helpful.

Relaxing location

This property has the quiet getaway from the hustle of modern life, with the spectacular Murray river wilderness at your finger tips. The working team that stayed were as refreshed while still working, as a month leave would have done.

Unique experience

We had a brilliant family holiday and were well looked after. This is a beautiful location with direct river access and very private. We loved hanging out down by the river as well as in the large garden area for family BBQs. Incredibly relaxing. Thanks

Absolutely amazing! Can’t wait to go back!

Border Cliffs Retreat is absolutely gorgeous! Leith & Mandy are delightful hosts and their communication brilliant. We hit the house on a ridiculously hot day and they did everything possible to make the house cool for us - not an easy task when it’s 47 degrees outside! The house itself is lovely, very well appointed and beautifully decorated. The view out over the rose garden to the citrus orchard beyond is spectacular! The river access and the view from there is amazing!!! There were peaches falling off the tree outside the house and we were free to pick and enjoy those. It was fun to be on a working farm and it was scenically beautiful! We could not have hoped for better hosts, more beautiful surroundings or a greater location! We would just have liked to stay longer!!!!! Thank you so much, Leith & Mandy

Excellent property

We have just spent an awesome week with our children and grandchildren plus our furbaby grand dog at this magnificent property. We have spent years skiing on the river Murray but have never come across this piece of paradise until now . You have the whole river to yoursel along with your own ski beach.The owmers Leith, Mandy and Duke the dog make you more than welcome and everything you could possibly need is in the beautiful homestead. Thankyou so much for sharing your awesome property with us and we will definitely be back a and we would highly recommend to anyone lookg for a very relaxing holiday with the beautiful river to yourself.
