This unique weekend hideaway is just 10 minutes drive from the pristine white beaches of Orford and departure to the magical Maria Island National Park.

Just 40 minutes drive from Hobart airport, you will discover this small rural hamlet offering a true taste of country life in Tasmania. Located in the historic farming village of Buckland, The Storekeeper's Boutique Accommodation is a beautifully appointed 1840s sandstone cottage with a contemporary edge. Located next to the original Buckland General Store, the cottage was the shopkeeper's residence. The Storekeeper's is operated by Twamley Farm, which is just a short drive from the village of Buckland. Our guests have full access to wander amongst the historic buildings at the farm, meet the animals, walk, mountain bike or get involved in the farm activities.

The Storekeeper's has been designed with indulgence and relaxation in mind. The cottage has two queen size bedrooms and fully equipped kitchen with gourmet mini bar, breakfast provisions, Nespresso coffee pod machine and gourmet pre-prepared meals on hand. The study is well stocked with books, DVDs and games. We also offer free Wi-Fi. You will enjoy relaxing by the wood fire or out on the lawn at the end of the day with a glass of our best local East Coast wine. The property is specifically designed with couples in mind and is not really suitable for young children.

The Storekeeper's is the perfect base to go behind the scenery and discover some of the East Coast's hidden treasures. Visit our family's working farm. Twamley Farm has been operating since the 1840s and has a range of walks and trails. Feel free to grab a mountain bike and explore. There are also many local short walks including the Convict Road to the Paradise Probation Station ruins and the Cliff Top walk at Orford or discover the intriguing story behind the historic St John the Baptist Church Buckland, explore the local beaches or enjoy a drive up the East Coast Wine Route to visit the many vineyards along the way.

You could just stop a while, wind down, relax, enjoy a beer at the Buckland pub and get to know some of the interesting local characters.

Storekeeper's Cottage

Storekeeper's Cottage was a lovely place to stay. It's spacious and very comfortable as well as being a short distance to the coast.Angela is a wonderful host and was extremely helpful. Breakfast supplies were more than we needed and much appreciated and we were thrilled to find an EV charger has been installed near the front gate which made our trip far more relaxed. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

A delightful place to stay

This property is gorgeous, clean and feels like home. It is a great place to wander around the streets, have a drink at the very country pub. I recommend it as a great stop between Hobart and the East Coast.

Lovely quiet cottage

Nice quiet location. Comfortable beds and plenty of food and drinks to choose from in the fridge. (Food chargeable except the food provided for breakfast, milk, eggs, cereal, tea, coffee etc) Great place to stay. Highly recommended.

Wonderful cosy cottage

We loved staying at this wonderful cottage. We did not want to leave. So cosy, has everything you need and more. We had a tour and walks around your farm and loved being accompanied by Tiger and Lou Lou!! Your breakfast items were lovely and very generous. Lots of place to visit near by. We enjoyed looking through your Church, had a day out at the beautiful Richmond and more.Thanks for everything Angela you are amazing and we will return.

As soon as you enter this property it says home . Fabulous furnishings,equipment and homeliness. Also has a mini supermarket and beverages for purchase so you can enjoy your stay without having to leave . We could of stayed for much longer

Slightly off the radar but we’ll worth the deviation. Picturesque cottage in an historic backdrop. Very comfortable, warm and inviting decor. Well catered for with delicious treats and staples. Winter get away

Beautiful and cosy cottage that was well provisioned made a perfect winter break for us as a base to explore some of the east coast. Nice and quiet location well off the main road. Loved going up to Twamley Farm to explore some of the walking there. Great hosts.

Wonderful stay in enchanting cottage

We had a wonderful stay in this charming cottage full of character inside and out. The house was sparkling clean and the decor really lovely with a lot of personal touches. We loved the attention to detail and the thoughtfulness left throughout. It was very cosy and really nicely to have the use of the fireplace as it got cooler. Everything was well thought of and the kitchen supply was perfect! Great breakfast items were included and it was really good to have the option of purchasing diner without going out! Buckland beauty

Comfortable and charming cottage

We loved our stay at the Storekeeper's Inn! It is a wonderfully charming historical cottage, with all the comfort of home. Our only regret is that we only stayed one night and that we did not get to light the wood fire. For a quiet restful break, away from the maddening world, we recommend the Storekeeper's Inn. It is only 40 minutes from the airport. Thank you Angela for the thoughtful breakfast and for ensuring our stay was a lovely experience!
