Comfortable, roomy, good facilities, outside deck very nice. Within easy walking distance to town centre and all shops. Great local Olympic pool. Great central location for Langhorne Creek wineries, Monaro Safari Park, Hahndorf, Laratinga Wetlands.
The property was close to our work site and everything else that we needed. The house was quite comfy, except for the double bed in the main bedroom. This bed may need a new mattress. Otherwise, house had everything we needed.

Strathalbyn stay
Unfortunately we were disappointed with our stay. Happy to communicate with the host if they'd like to discuss further.
We had a fantastic 6 days at Angas Cottage. Walking distance to woolworths, bakery and coffee shop. Wineries not far away. Great base for us and our dogs to see family. Thank you for a grest Christmas.
We stayed here with another couple and it had everything we needed.
We could walk to one of the pubs for tea so it was very convenient.
It was great that the back verandah was screened all the way around - nice to not be bother by insects.
We only had an overnight stay but wouldn’t hesitate booking again for a longer stay. The property was very clean and is well located, being an easy walk to cafes and shops. Strathalbyn is a beautiful little town.
We have throughly enjoyed our stay at Angus Cottage. We initially booked for 7 nights and extended our stay to 10 nights.
The cottage has a lovely welcoming feeling and it has everything we needed for our stay.
The beds were very comfortable and we especially enjoyed the yard and deck.
The host was very accommodating, easy and prompt to communicate with.
It’s been a wonderful stay here and we are very grateful to find this accommodation in Strathalbyn.
The house has everything you could want ow hope for. Fantastic outdoor sitting area with bbq, including fly wire. It is within walking distance to the shops, park and river. The bed was comfortable with plenty of extra blankets, should you need them (we didn’t). The house is clean, barring a few cobwebs. The owner was easy to contact and very friendly. We very much enjoyed our stay and will again. Thank you.
Upside: A central & quiet location; great for checking out district & surrounds & easy walking distance to town centre. Comfortable beds, sheer curtains in bedroom for daytime privacy. Excellent R/C air-con, WiFi & TV. Practical floorplan & secure backyard for pets, with a great deck to sit & relax.
Downside: Bathroom taps (sink & shower) need replacing; they drip & are hard to turn on/off with arthritic hands. The long vertical blind in kitchen area is defective. Bushes adjacent to deck screen door need pruning. Roller door to carport too narrow for larger cars.

It was a really lovely place in the back yard to have a yarn and watch the sunrise, recommend that very much! However it seemed like the presence of a mouse (we didn't see it but we were told about it) meant that the cleaning process may have been impeded. The blankets were a bit mucky/stained and the towels were not clean, with yellow stains and hairs on them. We found some clean ones in the cupboard though, so it didn't seem to be a problem. All in all, nice place but seemed to need a bit extra attention.
Quiet. Very clean. Everything we needed. All good really. And our dogs were happy!!

About the host
Hosted by Judy Cross
We own and manage a winery and vineyard in the Langhorne Creek wine region. We love meeting people visiting our vineyard and the surrounding district. My husband was born in Strathalbyn and went to adelaide to study at Uni and work for a number of years. However like many who growup in the country they love to return to land and the district they know.
Why they chose this property
Strathalbyn is a beautiful historical country town with the Angas River flowing thru the centre of the township. Lovely gardens are on either side of the river and there is a longer trial along the river for the more active either walking or cycling. Strathalbyn's inner centre has been heritage listed with many 19th century buildings well preserved. Their are many antiques shops and a motor museum. Art Gallery and Art Trail plus alot more. It is the closet town to the Langhorne Creek wine region and the small comunity at Milang on the edge of Lake Alexandrina the largest fresh water lake in australia.
What makes this property unique
Angas Cottage has been furnished to retain the country cottage but offer an affordable place for a family to stay. Enclosed back patio makes it a relaxed place to sit and enjoy the fresh air and the back year is fully enclosed so pets can stay safely too.
