Our family had a great time at this home. It had everything we needed. We loved how private it is and the close proximity to Boone. I would stay here again for sure.
Easily slept our 6 guests is a clean and well located location just minutes from ASU. Easy in and out and a great host!! Would definitely stay here again
Great home in convenient location to Kidd Brewer Stadium, grocery store and downtown Boone. This home's front porch is a hidden gem! A peaceful place to enjoy an early morning cup of coffee.
The accommodations were very adequate with a very nice back yard with small stream as well. Was able to have a very nice and relaxing bonfire by the stream which added to our good experience.
The house was very clean and in a quiet location. Great location for any events at Appalachian State.
Homeowner was very responsive and made the stay an easy process.
We will definitely check into availability the next time we are in the area.
Great location, very close to the center of Boone. Great mountain feel with creek in the back yard. Wished we could have had more time in the day to enjoy the outside. Very well equipped for your needs on vacation or a weekend get away.
Easy, quiet and relaxing. Myra was extremely accommodating and we had no issues during our stay. The property was spacious and secluded, but only a few minutes drive from town. Highly recommend!
Myra’s listing was just what we needed. The house was exactly as listed. And, the creek behind the house was an added bonus. Our entire family, including three kids and three dogs, had a wonderful weekend! We would definitely stay here again.
Quiet property within minutes of ASU. Easy check in. Plenty of space for 4 adults and 2 big dogs. Howards creek runs behind house. Owner makes house very welcoming and accommodating.
Our family stayed in this rental to spend the weekend with our daughter who attends ASU. It is the perfect house for a small family with wonderful amenities like a woody backyard, fire pit, creek, and good location to hiking and campus. We were also able to bring our golden retriever which made the weekend feel even more like home away from home. Definite plans to return here for visits during the college years!
My family of six stayed for a long weekend in December as my daughter graduated from App. State. The house perfectly met our needs. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed to make a celebratory dinner, and the location was far enough from the busy roads to make it a relaxing and peaceful stay, but not so far away that it was an inconvenience. It rained much of the time we were there, so being able to utilize the garage was a great bonus. Overall, it was a great stay and, since our daughter is planning to stay in the Boone area, I’m sure we’ll be back.

Everything was exactly as described and we had plenty of room. We only had two issues. We had to get toilet paper and washcloths. I’m positive if I had called someone they would have fixed it. Kitchen was stocked and the beds were comfortable. We will rent this home again..

Not for seniors
The stairs are difficult for older people to navigate. For us it was a one bedroom home.

Perfect mountain get away
We had a baseball tournament at App State over the weekend, and this house was perfect for us! We were close to the campus and the downtown King Street area, plus there was a grocery store and movie theater about a mile away. The house was clean and on a nice piece of property. Our boys ran around outside and tried trout fishing in the creek out back. The living room was nice and big, as well as the eat in kitchen! The owner was great-so easy to deal with and always available to answer questions.
We will definitely be staying here again next time we're in Boone.
Chose because pets allowed, even though our mother who has the pet backed out. Everything was nice and clean, plenty of room. The only thing we didn’t like was the heating, which is baseboard in most of the rooms and a stand alone gas (I think) heater in the kitchen. I would suggest an update there, but then again, if you keep it rented frequently, why bother?! Location is good, stream and backyard area is pretty.

Great Home in Beautiful Setting
My husband and I along with our good friends and their daughter recently stayed in this great home. The pictures and description of the property are accurate. The home is very welcoming, spacious and clean. The home has everything you need whether staying for a weekend or longer. The home is just minutes from ASU. We enjoyed walking to the stream behind the home and listening to the flowing water. We even saw trout! The home is located in a very quiet and peaceful setting. Myra, the owner was great to work with. If you are looking for a great vacation rental in Boone with all the comforts of home this is the place!

Not quite what we expected
This home is in a lovely location, but it is old. There is no central air, which we expected, so one room was super hot. Needs updating and to have a more thorough cleaning. Loved the chocolate left for us to enjoy and the property owner is nice and responsive.
I was expecting a recliner in the living room. I had a person that only sleeps in a recliner and in the photo it shows a large recliner. It was a large inconvenience for us at that point. We had to try and make other arrangements for him. The water pressure was very low. In the upper bathroom the water was going from hot to cold. The home was very well stocked and easy access. Only one bedroom up stairs had air. Over all we had a great vacation.

About the host
Hosted by Myra Mayse
ASU graduate in 1983. Moved into this nice home on a large flat lot with a mountain stream in the back yard in 1997. I have moved to Greensboro and only come up whenever I can to enjoy the cool summers, the beautiful leaves, holidays in the Mountains, and to take the grandchildren hiking and skiing.
Why they chose this property
This is a great central location to do all the great activities Boone and the surrounding area affords. Just a few miles to the Blue Ridge Parkway, to Grandfather Mountain and the Highland Games, Tweetsie Railroad, local ski resorts, to ASU and many sporting activities, to the Greenway for walking, into Boone for shopping, etc.
What makes this property unique
Great front porch to start the day with coffee while listening to the birds.
