Weekend hideaway
Loved our stay. Totally isolated but within easy driving distance of anything that might be needed. Cabins are gorgeous, you’re really encouraged to switch off. Some creature comforts like air con were appreciated! Will be staying again.

Peaceful, nature
We loved our long weekend at Willow Cabin. I wanted our little family to have a go at a screen free getaway. I was nervous that the kids would be bored but not even close. They loved the freedom and fun and the cabin had everything we needed for making some new memories. Kitchen and BBQ meant we could cook anything we wanted. A selection of games and books (there’s also DVDs for the TV). Cute babbling creek a short walk away. Other cabins in the property but felt very private. We loved fruit picking at Bilpin and lots of little towns in the Blue Mountains to check out. I’d hoped to do some of the excellent bushwalking trails but it was hot weather so the kids and I settled for a short trail and stopping at some look-outs. Our dog had a wonderful time running around, chewing sticks, sniffing and taking herself for a paddle in the creek. We appreciated the air conditioning in summer but would love to come back in winter to try the indoor fireplace.

We stayed from 23-26 April 2024. The places was clean and tidy and packed with all thr necesities. The Hidden Valley is in deed hidden. Just sounds of nature. You have to see to fully appreciate. Fiona and Mike were wonderful. They provided a lot of info about travelling there and things to do in the area. We will be back.

Had a great time bonding
No internet, no reception, no TV - that meant having time to appreciate each other, be more aware of our surroundings, have fun. The kids learnt how to build a fire. And do BBQ. They played badminton, volleyball, frisbee, hide & seek, etc. At night, we played board games, which was really fun. And a lot of singing in between. It was nice listening to happy voices. Rustic - that's how I would describe our cabin. But we had everything we needed. Hot water, heating, cooking appliances, electricity... I love the open space, green surroundings... We enjoyed our stay. Thanks Fiona.

Perfect choice for a step back to nature
We booked this simple cabin three friends and we had a great time. The cabin has everything you’d need except from the food. Walking to the creek is 2 minutes, I had great time sitting on the rocks and listening to the sound of the water. There are 4 more cabins available in the property but they have enough distance to ensure privacy. We were also lucky that the closest cabin to ours (~300m) wasn’t booked. Fiona is a good host, very communicative, positive and reliable. I would recommend this place and I’ll probably take my family in the near future. Thanks Fiona!

Peaceful Getaway
Loved the feeling of isolation of Willow Cottage - just what I needed at this time. The cottage looked exactly how I imagined it from the photos. Although the facilities were sufficient for such a getaway, the interior decor is well overdue for an update. Curtains and screens need replacing as well as the two seater lounge. The books, DVDs and CDs left for guests’s enjoyment were very old and dirty. The living area itself was also needing a good dust and thorough clean particularly with the open fire. The best aspect was enjoying the surroundings and the peacefulness while sitting on the verandah in the early mornings watching my two fur babies running free having the time of their lives. Thank goodness there’s a DIY dog washing facility close by in North Richmond.

A truly fantastic retreat
We loved Hidden Valley! It was quiet, beautiful and natural. The cottage was lovely and had everything we needed. The best part was that we could take our dog. We all had a great time away from it all. We will be back!

Lovely, relaxing, rustic retreat
We had a wonderfully restful time in this little getaway cottage. Warm and cozy and set in beautiful bushland surrounds. It was so easy to access from Sydney, yet we felt far from the worries of the world. Thank you for a great long weekend!

Perfectly Rustic and Beautiful
My wife and I wanted to get away from it all, but wanted to be close to town just in case. Hidden Valley Cottage are perfect for that , with a wonderful fire, couples spa, and secluded location, all within 15 mins of a major city and less than an hour from Sydney. You couldn't want anything more.

Perfect escape
It was wonderful to just listen to the water in the creek, look at all the birds, listen to the frogs and see so many stars at night. Our dog had a great time with so much room to run and the cottage itself was very comfortable. With an open fire and outdoor bbq it was a great place for a winter's holiday. We played card and board games and listened to the radio - it was so relaxing we will have to come back and do it all again.

A hidden gem of a place!
We loved our stay at Magnolia cottage, the cottage was spotlessly clean, beautiful linen and towels and everything we needed (including enough firewood) to ensure we had a comfortable stay. My border collie had a ball, as did my two teenage sons, who loved the tennis court and open fireplace, and the peace and tranquility. Thanks very much Fiona, we'll definitely be back again, hopefully soon and for a longer stay! Thanks also to Cheryl and Kevin for being so welcoming and friendly.

Brilliant weekend away.
A perfect country retreat for my partner and our dog. Jacaranda Cottage was cosy and had a delightful outlook and the other cottages also looked amazing.

Beautiful country getaway
Enjoyed our stay at Hidden Valley Retreat immensely. First sight of Cabbage Tree cottage was very impressive, a log style cabin set on a very large block of private land. Our dog loved running all over the place. Very well appointed cottage, lovely rooms. The open fire place was a bonus as it got cold at night. Caretakers Kevin and Cheryl were lovely, Kevin kept us stocked in firewood which we used very day. If you are looking for a quiet getaway in a beautiful bush setting, this is the place to go. We can't wait to go back. Thank you Fiona for sharing your own piece of heaven with us.

Absolutely fantastic.
Hidden Valley Retreat Cottages are simply FANTASTIC. The area is beautiful, with nice grassy clearings in the middle of lovely forest. We really enjoyed bushwalking, spotlighting, playing cricket and rugby, swinging in a hammock, sitting around on the verandahs eating and drinking too much, and sitting around a fire at night time. The owners and the caretakers were all incredibly friendly and helpful - they made for a relaxed, easy holiday. The arrangement of the cottages is perfect - just far enough so that you can have some privacy, but close enough that a big group can stay here and remain connected. In short, this was one of the best holiday rentals I have ever experienced (from quite a large field). We will be back.

Nice property few issues
We stayed for 2nights in September we were in cabbage tree the property was nicely presented but stunk of a wet dog smell too many people have let there dog run around wet in the property and it stinks. We don't have dogs but if you do it might not be strong for you. Also guest in another house walked through our property to go through our backyard to go for a bush walk. I found this completely rude they should not be trespassing while people are staying its big 40acres why should they walk passed a locked gate and interrupt us while we cook on the BBQ. Also the aircon was not working while we stayed. Lovely quiet place but a few issues while we stayed we won't be back

Can't wait to come back for longer
We arrived at Hidden Valley at night time after a full on day at work and with 3 tired children. We walked inside the cottage and instantly felt transported to another life. The kids were so excited to see a fire place (and games) and my husband and I were thrilled to see a spa bath and a bottle of wine. There was ample space inside even if it was going to be a wet weekend. Within 5 minutes of being here, we knew this was going to be an awesome weekend and we were already planning our next visit. This was all before we awoke the next day to the sound of bellbirds and the beautiful landscape that surrounded us. We felt truly secluded and although we only spent 3 nights here, we felt like we had been away for a lot longer and returned very refreshed. It was amazing to spend time with our children exploring the spring fed creek with small waterfalls and with the immediate space surrounding the cottage to play games (or drink champagne on the verandah and watch them play games :) ) The outdoor fire was an added bonus, and Kevin so would so kindly ensure we had more than enough firewood. We feel like we have finally found a place that we would love to spend time alone (i.e anniversary) and also with our children or groups of friends - a rare gem! Probably the best testimony to our weekend was that our children did not ask to watch TV once nor did they seem to care about not having 'screens' -there was too many other things to explore ad be excited by. Thank you so much for your hospitality and for sharing this with us. We look forward to returning very soon.
