Convenient to Ferguson Valley

We recently stayed in Crooked Brook. As previously mentioned it is an older home but comfortable enough and provided all we needed for our one night stay. The only negative was some rooms flooring need a sweep as dust & fluff was gathering but this didn't affect our stay. The complimentary breakfast was lovely and was pleasant to sit outside with the cattle in a peaceful setting

Perfect location for our stay

Thank you, house was in the perfect location, daily drive to our event was nice and quick. House was perfect for what we required, the kids loved the cows and roaming chickens. House could do with update of items, but worked out fine for us.

Location very nice, but cleanliness a real issue.

Lovely fresh bakery items much appreciated however spreads and decent coffee were lacking. Cleanliness was a bit of an issue with some of the rooms and bathrooms - spiderwebs and a moth in some of the linen provided, insufficient crockery for the number of people we had said were staying and the bbq and frypans were rusty and flaking so we couldnt really use them. Nice big lounge and dining area so overall the stay suited our purpose but the house could do with some more care

very dirty

Hoping to have a catch up with family in the country for 3 n days but on arrival the place had not been cleaned cobwebs and dust everywhere. The oven and benches were greasy and cupboards had insects and left over in them. We cleaned before we cooked but were unable to sleep due to dust in air. My daughter in law was sick had wore a mask to bed due to dust. One of the bedroom door knobs fell off and the dining curtains when tried to open fell to the floor as part was broken. the outside area was covered in chook poo and outdoor chairs were all rusty. We would have loved to have stayed if the condition of the house was clean.

Beautiful Scenery

The property is absolutely gorgeous. Waking up drinking your coffee overlooking the lake with ducks and ducklings, cows, chicken and guinea foul. My kids absolutely loved walking around looking at all the animals especially the owners dog Diesel. He was super friendly. Lovely loaf of bread and donuts upon arrival too. Owners were very friendly and welcoming and also very helpful. The only downside would be the mass of midgies.

Crooked Brook (Western Australia) Farm Stay

Very nicely presented in a wonderful rural setting. Next door's "farm dog" is very friendly :-) Likewise the local cows. Great for peaceful walks along the country road. Great collection of books and games but we did not have time to fully utilise. Hope to stay there again. Communication with Ellen was good and special thanks to her for the "welcome" fresh bread and jam doughnuts! Guests might like to know that only some mobile phone operators have signals out there, and the property itself does not have Internet. Makes it ideal for a "switched off" holiday :-) Beware of kangaroos at dawn and dusk as they like to cross the roads then - take plenty of care especially if you are not used to them. The house has good cooking facilities and the nearby Dardanup township has good meals at the hotel and a good bakery too. Recommended.

Mountain Biking Adventure

Clean, well appointed, quiet country home, close to Dardanup and Bunbury for supplies. A great base camp to explore the area, with plenty of room in the house. Enjoy the wildlife that abounds in the immediate vicinity.

Great value for money!

Cosy (but spacious) house in serene setting. Fresh bread, milk and donuts was a generous welcoming touch. Great location for the Ferguson Valley wine region. House needs a set of decent wine glasses though! Will be back for sure 👍

A great farmstay location close to the Ferguson Valley

Our group of 9 had a great time at Crooked Brook. The house was obviously built to cater to the needs of an elderly person, but it was very clean and well kept when we arrived. The rooms and living spaces are very large so space was no issue for our large party. Kitchen is also well stocked with plates plates, cutlery, utensils etc. so feeding a large group of people was no issue. Ellen and her partner were very pleasant and gave us plenty of space, only checking in on us once or twice to make sure we were comfotable in the house. Our only issue with the property was the sketchy mobile phone reception and no Wifi, which made coordinating movements with members of our party a little difficult. Provision of Wifi would be a very useful addition to this property. Overall, a very nice property in a beautiful part of the state. Would definitely recommend to future visitors.
