LOCATION

Port Fairy would have to be considered the jewel of the South West Coast, only 250km from Melbourne CBD and easily accessible by rail and bus. There is no excuse not to visit for a short break or a longer week of summer fun.

Pips on Bank is located 500m from the first of many hotels and restaurants. Continue a little further and you will find cafes, bakeries and a lovely little shopping village. It is the perfect stroll to a deliberately slow and luxurious brunch on a weekend, or an easy distance to walk to dinner and enjoy a drink!

We are located between the two popular beaches and wharf precinct where a popular local market is held and close to the public transport routes.
Everything is accessible by foot when staying at Pips on Bank. A great excuse to park the car in the drive and walk or, alternatively bring along your bikes for easy riding and exploring.

THINGS TO DO

Port Fairy is part of the Shipwreck coast and offers an abundance of exciting history, wonderful landscapes and beautiful architecture. From the charming Bluestone cottages like ours to the rugged and treacherous coastline of 'The Crags' there is never a shortage of attractions.

Summer fun at the two pristine and patrolled beaches, cycling along the bike trail to Koroit, discovering the lighthouse and Shearwater Colony, fishing, surfing or wandering through the village and pausing at an award winning cafe or restaurant on your stroll home....... a stay at Pips on Bank will offer a relaxing and comfortable base for all of your activities.

Come and enjoy the galleries, the markets, the Port Fairy Folk Festival or 'Winter Weekends' all of which contribute to the inspiring and creative nature of the town and its people ......we can't wait to meet you!

Great heritage stay in excellent location
Lovely heritage style cottage with unique touches to make the stay feel special. The open backyard was excellent relaxing in and the kitchen was well stocked. The house does heat up on hot days but that is to be expected with an older heritage style property. We would recommend this house to stay in while in Port Fairy.

Superb location
Modern, well equipped kitchen and bathroom, vintage styling to match home. Great outdoor space. Whole interior needs a thorough clean, floor didn’t look like it had been mopped, door mat still dirty, underneath beds dirty with dust and grime. Couch and cushions had food stains.

Lovely stone cottage with modern extension
Very clean and spacious cottage, wonderful shower! No air con but there were fans. Had to be careful with some low doorways but not a major issue. Lovely big back garden. A bit far from the main street for us to walk but others may disagree.

Sublime
Leanne (our host ) has thought of everything. The beds were so comfortable, the linens were top rate and the house was spotless. The shower was top rate and the dvds our kids really appreciated. Communication was excellent. The only thing I would change would be the oven as it was slow to heat but believe Leanne is working on that.I love to cook... Port Fairy was a lovely break and we walked everywhere which was relaxing in itself.. Leanne has "nailed It" and thoroughly understands what people are looking for in getaway. Highly recommend this host and this unique cottage

Port Fairy Perfection
We loved our stay at Pips. The cottage was clean and bright, and the perfect balance between historical character and modern luxury. The location was perfect for a short stroll to Port Fairy Coffee Roasters (possibly the best coffee I've ever tasted!) and the shops. Our boys loved the bunny themed bedroom and the grassy back yard. Thanks Leanne, we will be back!

Peaceful, practical, great location!
This is our third summer stay at Pips on Bank. We love the character of the cottage, along with it’s beautiful yard. We spend so much time outside when we stay. The cottage is decked out with everything you need which makes for a very relaxing stay. We pretty much ditch the car when we stay at Pip’s as it’s in walking and riding distance to everything Port Fairy has to offer. We enjoyed an extended two week stay here and loved utilising the bikes, sand castle equipment, fishing rods, and boogie boards which are provided in the little garden shed. We look forward to booking again. Thank you!

Amazing location and cottage
We loved our stay at Pips on Bank. It is the perfect location to walk into town, the beach, the wharf and anywhere else you want to visit in Port Fairy. The cottage is beautiful and well kept. The garden is a good size for little kids to run around and play in as well. We will definitely be staying here again next time we are in Port Fairy.

About the host

Hosted by Leanne

Host profile image
Hi, I am Leanne and am a partner, a mother, an artist and always busy! I own another property in central Bendigo and along with my partner, we also run Oxart Pottery in Taradale (close to Bendigo) I spend my time talking, creating, gardening, planning and designing and sometimes the obligatory book working! I obviously have a passion for creating and design and this is obvious in all aspects of my life and the thing that I love to share with my guests in the decoration and ambience of my properties. I am fortunate to have great health and in a position to enjoy what the world puts forth, so hope that my guests get the same experience and joy from their visits.

Why they chose this property

This property epitomizes Port Fairy and is an age old memory for me of my childhood holidays every year! From birth I have holidayed in and even lived in Port Fairy and it has become the place on earth I feel the most revived and relaxed. The cottage itself exudes personality and is steeped in history but has allowed us to decorate with a little quirkiness and our love of art. It is considered our family holiday home and so we love that others can share the place that we love to come to!

What makes this property unique

Pips is so close to town and you can wander down in the morning to buy a fresh baked loaf for breakfast, or just enjoy someone else cooking for you. Nothing is too far to walk to, including the beaches and the Moyne river. The bikes that are available for the guests use can also get you around easily and rest assured, Port Fairy has no hills!
The Bluestone walls will keep you cool in the summer and retain the warmth in winter and just make for an all round cosy stay!
