Wye Solace- Family and Pet Friendly Accomodation

Built by a builder for his own family, this fantastic family residence has been thoughtfully designed to take advantage of it's position overlooking the ocean, resulting in a light- filled home that's cool and inviting in summer and cosy in winter. It utilises gorgeous open-plan living, superb entertaining space and an exquisite fusion of natural timber and glass to create a unique space that simply works.

With the surf beach just a short stroll away, and the walking tracks of the Otway Ranges National Park right on your doorstep, this house is the ideal base for a restful break.

Busy days will be complemented by restful evenings watching the magic of yet another ruby sunset unfold before you. Native birds are frequent visitors to the deck and you may even spot a koala or two in the adjacent trees that embrace the property.

The open-plan kitchen with its wide stone benches offers all the modern appliances you'd expect to find in a contemporary kitchen, making entertaining a breeze. If you don't feel like cooking, however, the township of Wye River offers traditional pub meals and a General Store and Cafe that does a fantastic breakfast and lunch.

Wye River really is the ultimate destination along the Great Ocean Road- it's a relaxed and peaceful sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of city living- yet it's also just a short drive from the charm and convenience of Lorne,

Wedding Weekend

Our family stayed in this beautiful home for our son’s wedding weekend at Wye River. The house was beautiful, wonderful views and easily accommodated our grown family of four children and parents. The groom and groomsmen used the house for pre wedding dressing and preparation and it was perfect.

Perfect for a family holiday

We had a wonderful stay at Wye Solace. A great house with lots of space and comfort for a family holiday. We loved the location, the view, the spacious deck, and everything the house had to offer. We even spotted koalas in the nearby trees. Thank you!

Stunning!

Very comfortable house worked perfectly for our family Christmas. The views are stunning and it was a great place to reconnect. I had read other comments on a lack of amenities but we found the house well stocked with kitchen supplies. Jack was a great host and was very accommodating when it took us a bit longer to check out which I was very grateful for. We loved it.

Beautiful family home with amazing views

The house is in a beautiful location, high up over Wye River, with most rooms having ocean views and some even having access to the huge terrace. Well equipped and maintained with everything you might need for a family holiday, from outdoor shower to games and books and a great BBQ on the terrace.Only slight problem is that you can’t access the property without climbing some stairs or steps.We are sure to return

Fabulous stay

Loved our stay -the views are incredible. Great property and well maintained. Excellent heating and lots of room. Short walk down the hill to beach, shop and pub. Owner is an excellent communicator. Highly recommend.

The family stayed here for a weekend. Could not fault anything. Only issue was getting check in information. Not a real issue as we received it on the day we arrived. Would have felt more comfortable if we knew the day before. Stunning property with a magnificent view.

Easter at Wye Solace

Beautiful house in a superb location - peaceful and private, stunning views, walking distance to beach, general store and hotel. The house was very spacious, clean and well equipped - perfect for a multigeneration family holiday. If you like hiking there is a fantastic bush walk that starts almost opposite the driveway and takes you through to Kennett River. Excellent communication with host, all instructions clear, offered a late checkout. Cant wait for an opportunity to rebook!

Our best holiday ever!

The property is absolutely beautiful, views of the ocean, nice personal touches, space, wildlife.What was a great let down were lack of appliances in the kitchen. We tried to get electric kettle to work, needs attention and also the L side of toaster? The previous tenants didn't empty crumb catcher? Also, didn't clean up grassed area after their dog b4 the left.For the standard of house expected, the appliances were inadequate. No toastie machine for teens to make own, no air-fryer, very poor quality frypans. My own frypans are 1st class at home? I did expect a much higher standard in kitchen? My daughters said the same. Kitchen was set up by someone who knows very little about cooking? I am a very good cook & use up-to-the-minute gear. The oven was very good & cooked evenly. Only 2 tea towels was most inadequate for 7-8 people for 5 days?Not enough toilet paper. 3 extra small rolls was gone by Wed. We had to go and purchase more. We ran out of cockatoo food so used all of my raw almonds and so did my daughter. This was ok.In spite of shortcomings mentioned, the holiday itself was very memorable and would want to return. We noted tank water was in use and respected that by keeping showers to a minimal use.I did do quite a bit of vacuuming so the house was "as found on first day". The previous tenants didn't put rubbish bins out on street so we lacked adequate rubbish bins. I was satisfied we left the property in a good condition. B Phelan

Large house, really good view and very good amenities in the house. We had some rain whilst we were there, so the garage was amazing for getting kids/stuff out of car.

Friends getaway

This is truly a beautiful property in a great location. There was ample room for what we needed and amazing views from the balcony. The only issue was the insects and crickets, the crickets started coming out of the drain in the main shower and alot of them through the house. We tried to get rid of the crickets but they kept coming back and even got into some of the bedrooms.

Great location and house, but could do with a few more kitchen appliances and serving ware

Lovely comfortable stay with a great view. The main bedroom has an ensuite but given it does lay completely close off, a lot of bathroom noises flow into the bedroom. And the combined shower/toilet is annoying as the shower water sprays on the floor surrounding the toilet. Some kind of curtain or separation would be better. The kitchen is very large but considering this, is fairly lightly stocked for serving ware and kitchen appliances (no sandwich press, no colander, very feee serving dishes. There are many drawers and cupboards in the kitchen but most are empty. Some often instructions would be useful too (had to google to work out the oven settings) Otherwise a very comfortable stay for a large family within walking distance to the beach.

It was everything we wanted- spacious, quiet, great views, several areas for relaxing, 2 bathrooms for a big group and plenty of parking space, walking distance to the store/pub if you want to be active, or a very short drive.
