About this property

Large Beach Front Saladita Property in Secluded Cove CalmaSaladita.com

Never been to La Saladita ? Its basically unspoiled Mexico, 35 minutes north of Zihuatanejo. Are you looking for night clubs, hipster filled coffee bars, valet parking and a possible Justin Beiber sighting? Not here. Think dirt roads, epic surf, fishing pongas, friendly people, mango trees, coco palms and now you’ve got an idea. If relaxation and a shock to your fast paced life is needed then this is your place.

Our property is mid beach, north of the amenities of the point by a 20 minute walk along the sand, sure you can drive it in 5 minutes but that mentality may be why you need to come here in the first place. The property is very unique as it affords a beautiful natural reef out the back which provides for tide pool exploration and protected swimming during certain times of the year. The property is thee acres in size and it is bordered by an estate property to the south, open space to the north, open space to the east and the unobstructed Pacific Ocean to the west.

The property is directly off the main beach frontage road and is accessed through a gate that opens up to a long palm lined driveway that takes you to the home. This is a very quiet area and the breaking waves and gentle breeze is literally the background music for your stay.

The home features 3 bedrooms and three bathrooms. The house is two stories with an outside staircase leading to the second floor which has the main kitchen, living room, dining area and the master bedroom and full bathroom. The first floor has two large bedrooms each with a full bathroom with walk in showers. Both the first and second floors have large covered patios facing west towards to ocean. There are also laundry facilities downstairs should you need them.

The master bedroom has a king size bed, AC, ceiling fan, and sliding glass doors to a huge porch and wide open views of the pacific. The master bath has a walk in shower, dual vanities and plenty of storage space.

There is a full kitchen complete with ample counter space and everything you would need to host your family and friends. Also, upstairs is the dining area with a table for 4, and 4 bar stools. In addition there is comfortable seating that looks out over the crashing waves and the beautiful reef.

Downstairs are the two completely independent bedrooms. Both large bedrooms are setup identically with a king size bed and a double bed. Each bedroom has AC, a ceiling fan and full bathroom with walk in shower.

In addition to the main home there is a beach side sitting area with a large palapa roof. This is a very special space and is perfect for watching the daily sunsets and simply taking in all the beauty this majestic area affords.

Amazing get away

I can’t say enough about this experience. Starting with the property owner and ending with the beautiful sunsets every night. Scott is gracious with his time and experience and home, ready to help and never overbearing or getting in the way. The home is a perfect balance between seclusion away from the hustle of a city and closeness to the convenience of a market and easy dining and beautiful beaches/great surfing. You’ll want to be outside all day enjoying the different locations on the property that have comfortable lounging and unique views. The beach is right there with tide-pooling and swimming and surfing. La Saladita long surf break is perfect and friendly just a 5 min car ride or a 15 minute walk down the beach. The house is fully equipped if you want to cook, but we ate at a different beach front open air restaurant with great sea food every night. Not fancy but we weren’t looking for fancy. We had a great trip and would return in a heartbeat.

Fabulous Home Base

Perfect home base for our ladies surf trip. Really well appointed kitchen and bedrooms - perfect place to replace between quick (5 minute) drivers to the surf break. Scott and B are super helpful! Take time to explore the farm and local flora and fauna.

Gorgeous house, great beach

Thank you Scott for the wonderful place to stay! The house is gorgeous; quiet, and secluded, while being close to the great vibes and restaurants of Saladita. The beds were amazing, the kitchen well equipped, and the views of/breeze off the ocean are magnificent. I really hope we get to go back someday soon.

Hands down the best family vacation ever!

We just returned from Playa La Saladita and we can't wait to go back. Everyone involved with Casa de las Palmas, from the owner to the caretaker, was amazing. Maura helped us out with so many big and little things before and during our trip that it was like having a professional tour guide/best friend on standby 24/7. The people in the area are amazing - very gracious and kind. The local food was delicious and the service was first rate. The casa and the grounds are very well maintained and the location is amazing. With the view from the lanai, the sound of the ocean, the sunsets and the peace and quiet, I have never been in a more relaxing place. This was a family vacation with my wife and two kids (12 and 14). We have been fortunate to have traveled to many beautiful places in Mexico and Hawaii, but we all agree that this place is at the very top of the list. The positive reviews for this casa really do not do the whole experience justice, as words cannot really capture how well taken care of Scott and his team made us feel from the minute we booked and all throughout the trip. The whole flight back we could not stop thinking about the things we will do the next time we visit. There are not many guarantees in life, but this place is guaranteed to put a smile on your face and some wind in your sails - Thanks so much Scott, Maura, Bernard, Paty and Erwing!! Hasta luego amigos. Rick G.

5 star home and location

Fantastic home and location. Comfy beds and the view of the ocean from the deck and main living area is breathtaking! Nice to stay a bit away from the hustle bustle at the point yet not to far to walk to surf. Owner Scott was super responsive and all was seamless. Do over for sure! Thank you

Perfect, secluded, private paradise for our two-family vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our (too short) vacation in tranquil La Saladita. Casa de Las Palmas was the ideal home base for our two-family party of seven. Everything we needed was there: ample kitchenware and working appliances, water toys for playing in the ocean, first aid kit, speaker to plug in an iPod, plenty of beach towels, comfy hammocks, games and books, intermittent (at best) internet (which we definitely did not miss!) lots of shade, and most importantly direct access to the warm ocean right out front. The beach sand was not there during our visit, so we were happy to have brought river shoes for traversing the rocks. There were pesky mosquitoes in the evenings when the sea breeze dropped, so don’t forget long sleeves/pants. Epic sunsets every night with fresh margaritas, easy 8-minute drive to the surf point in the mornings... why did we leave? The owner, Scott, made time to be in touch before during and after the trip to ensure that our visit was up to expectations. The team on site were helpful friendly and professional. We had zero issues with security or safety. Highly recommend this for larger groups looking to unplug, escape the noise of the modern world, and relax.

Spectacular Saladita beach house

Beautiful well appointed home for a family or friends beach vacation. Large kitchen and deck with fantastic west facing views of the pacific ocean. Stunning sun sets nightly. Let the crashing waves lull you to sleep after a day of surfing. Enjoy the privacy of en suite bathrooms with all three bedrooms and loads of hot water. Hang in the shade of the beach-side palapa while you sip a margarita. Scott and Erwing will help you arrange anything you need. Fabulous stay all around. Muchos Gracias todas.

Amazing place! Beautiful views, wonderful area. Very friendly people

My two children and I stayed for a week here, and had the most wonderful vacation! The beach in front of the house was beautiful, and very private. Only a short walk down to the point to the surfing lessons. We had the cook make us meals that were delicious authentic Mexican cuisine. The horseback riding was amazing! We are definitely going back!

Wonderful Spot!

Scott's home is perfectly located, close enough to Saladita to be there in minutes by car or walk along the beautiful beach but far enough away to offer peace & solitude. The beach is literally steps from the house, including a sheltered swimming area that was perfect for the kids -- shallow & calm enough for even the youngest in our group (6) but with enough wave activity to make it fun for all ages. The second floor balcony is a perfect place to enjoy the view, sounds of breaking waves and ocean breeze while having a meal, reading a book or napping. Scott was very attentive & accessible before our stay, and his staff the same during our stay. Erwing (an English speaking local) was on-site when we arrived. Paco was on-site almost daily quietly doing little things to make our stay more comfortable (the sandy path he created through the rocks to the beach was particularly appreciated!) and Jeni's meals were simple but delicious. We will definitely be back!

What a great experience!

I booked a stay at La Saladita for this coming April. Scott was so attentive to all my questions about his property and the area. He went above and beyond finding local answers to our requests. Unfortunately, we were unable to keep our reservations due to circumstances beyond our control, and Scott was understanding and accommodating! I know my family is missing a wonderful experience and we certainly hope to reschedule soon. Meanwhile, I hope you get a chance to experience this unique spot, write a great review about it here so I can kick myself all the way home that we had to miss it! Thanks Scott and I can’t wait to pick up this vacation where we left off.

A gem in paradise

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful casita on the beach. Its steps away from the beach and a short 5 min drive to the famous point break! Scott was super helpful and helped us with every step of the trip! The house itself is super comfortable and has everything you need. We had no complaints the whole trip and will be coming again! Thanks Scott!

My rockin' dirty thirty trip to Saladita

We had an awesome stay at Casa de Las Palmas!! Scott, the host, is the nicest guy ever and is super responsive. He really went above and beyond! I was celebrating my 30th birthday and when we arrived at the house he had had a birthday sign made for me that was on the fridge with some fresh limes attached to it and a round of birthday beers. So sweet! And all of the house staff is awesome too. Everyone was so kind. The house manager arranged a rental car for us and also arranged for someone to come to the house and prepare us a magnificent mexican feast that was one of the best meals we had while we were down in Mexico. The house is right on the beach and has a little palapa that is perfect for doing yoga, meditation, or having your morning cup of coffee. The house is about a 5 minute drive from the surf break and probably about a 15-20 minute walk. It was nice being kind of secluded. Its close to the action but also a nice distance away. We truly enjoyed our stay at Casa de Las Palmas and I think you will too!! The house manager can pretty much help you organize anything that you want. Surf lessons, horse back riding, dinner, etc.....

Relax... Relax....Relax....

If you want to decompress, soak in pure tranquility and enjoy true Mexico, this is your spot. Sunsets, sunrise, and watching the day move with the waves. Heavenly ocean views from every room. Beachfront is beachfront, it does not get any better! Super clean amenities, courageous landscape, littered w/ coconut trees, banana & mango grove. Lush & green. Surfboards, water toys & ATV for you adventures on the beach. Spacious patio w/ hammock for morning yoga or sunset cocktails. A 10-15 minute walk along the beach to internationally renowned, longest/funnest left in all of Mexico. This place has something for everyone. Romance, adventure and a true taste of the pure essence of Mexico.

Host profile image
We're Scott and Ron and we are an example of what happens to surfers when they stop surfing for a while to make a buck. We are both lost souls who got sucked into the real world. You know what were talking about, freaking corporate treadmill, rat race, mommy wants LuLu Lemmons, how many colors do hydro flasks come in?, yea that...
We met in the Bay Area working together in the tech sector, Ron was the sales dude and Scott was the engineer that kept Ron from selling stuff that would not work together.

Today we both are still working in the bay area, raising kids and counting the days until we can enjoy this place for more than a week at a time.

We both share a similar passion in surfing and have found this area of Mexico to posses some of the best, uncrowded waves.

Were both two fun loving goof balls.

Why they chose this property

We bought this property more for therapy than anything else I think. Having a home in a primo surfing local is every surfers dream and further, having a home in Mexico is a total adventure. The two of us have traveled quite a bit throughout Latin America and when we discovered La Saladita we looked at each other, realized that we were in a very special place and with no hesitation took the leap.

What makes this property unique

What made us fall in love with this home ? First we loved the pace of the pueblo of La Saladita and where it is in its evolution. We liked the fact it was not all built out and that the evenings were silent all but the waves crashing out front.

The home is very unique in that it sits away from what little "hustle and bustle" exists in La Saladita. It is a 10 minute walk south along the beach to the nearest restaurant/bar and we liked that. Also, it unlike the bulk of beachfront homes in La Saladita as it has a natural reef in the back yard that makes for a magnificent framing of the sunset as well as offers interesting explorations during certain tidal periods. It is always changing and that was special too.

The home is a charming, simple two story home, in a perfect location. The property itself is 3 acres and it is VERY quiet.

The wave, yes the wave at the point (5 minute drive,10 minute bike ride, 20 minute walk)
was the initial attraction. The first time I surfed it was in May 2016 (wow 5 mos ago from writing this) , Ron and I caught the point on an good sized, long period south swell, the wave machine produced the most wonderfully shaped left hand peelers that went on forever.

If you are looking to get away, snag some choice waves that you will never forget and just want to chill, then you could not ask for more than this place.
