"A Wave From It All" is a Cosy 3 bedroom 1950's Mt Gambier Limestone Home, located in the centre of Port MacDonnell, Australias largest Southern Rock Lobster Fleet.

Experience the magnificent rugged coastline and natural beauty of Port MacDonnell, the southernmost port in South Australia. Enjoy a myriad of water sports; fishing, surfing, boating, snorkelling, or sailing, and for the more adventurous cave-diving in internationally renowned sinkholes.

Savour locally caught, fresh Southern Rock Lobster during the fishing season from October 1st to May 31st each year. Watch 'Little Penguins' come home from a day at sea. Consider 4 wheel driving, climb a dormant volcano, or meander along a walking trail or bush track. Practice your golf, lawn bowls or tennis, or just relax with family and friends on the beach in this quaint fishing village!

Just a short trip north to Mt Gambier and you can view the world reknown Blue lake or travel a little further to coonawarra and sample some of the worlds finest wines.

Good location, very short walk to the jetty. Few steps from the pub, quiet street. House very clean

Very comfortable and a great landlord who had the wood heater burning for us when we arrived. Very narrow street, not really suitable for big boats.

Base for cave diving in the area

This was the second time our group of older members of the Cave Divers Association of Australia have stayed at this accomodation. It is centrally located in Port MacDonnell, only a short walk to all facilities. We again enjoyed our time at this well appointed house and will stay here again in the future.

Not to far from jetty sadly no fish to catch

The owner was very kind and friendly he even drove 25 kms to start fire as we couldnt get it started. Thanks for your help Only down side is no wifi

Fabulous place for a family holiday

A week was not long enough staying in this lovely little house. It’s in a great location just around the corner from the pub, the local general store and of course, the crayfish shop! And a less than five minute stroll to the beach. James and Rachel’s hospitality was perfect with the house providing everything we needed including a safe and secure backyard for our dog to stay in. The house was clean, warm during the cool nights when we first arrived and cool during the hot summer days that ensued. Loved the new barbecue area and the barbecue itself is a Master-chef's delight! The bathroom was a definite highlight and the shower is wonderful! We went to the beach every day, rode our bikes on the bike tracks that run along the foreshore for kilometres, went on a few trips to local sights including Margaret Rose Cave, Tantaloona Cave Naracoorte Caves (we like caves!) and Piccaninnie Ponds, relaxed around the house watching the cricket on the LCD TV and generally had the perfect summer holiday. Thanks James and Rachel for making your house so perfect for our family holiday.

Neat, Charming, Peaceful.

We enjoyed our stay and found it a great place to relax and was a beautiful drive from Mount Gambier where we spent our days. A working fire place is a lovely bonus. Would have been nice to know my dogs weren't allowed on carpet areas as soon as I enquired about the booking as we had to deal with anxious dogs and not get as much sleep as one would like to on holidays. We were very happy with everything else and will recommend this place to family and friends.

Cozy family friendly house.

Great little place perfectly set up for small family, not over decorated with expensive things for the kids to knock over and make your holiday stressful. Fireplace was a hit and had it slowly warming the house for our entire stay.

Christmas Break

The cottage was perfect made all the more lovely with a Christmas tree and other decorations setup for our arrival. Everything was in walking distance beach, jetty, shops or a short drive to scenic lookouts. A great place to stay with the family.

Great Getaway

Was pouring with rain when we arrived. The owners had started the fire for us which was a lovely welcome. Everything was clean and the location was convenient to the beach, general store and pub. Loved our short stay.
