About this property

This modern house is off the grid (solar, rainwater) and on top of the cliffs overlooking the magnificent Murray River. You will not get a better sunset picture! 20 minutes from closest towns of Morgan and Waikerie, enjoy the natural environment.

For nature lovers you have an array of Conservation Parks within easy drive:
Pooginook C.P. - wombats - 25km
Birdlife Australia's Gluepot Reserve - 42km
Hogwash Bend C.P. - Regent Parrots -19km
Morgan C.P. -19km

Dogs are welcome on approval.

Our lovely little Eco-House has 3 bedrooms*, each with a queen bed. The well equipped kitchen looks over the large lounge/dining space - all with scenic views over the river.

It's great to stay here over all seasons:
Beautiful in winter with a slow combustion wood heater inside and enjoy the river in the Summer. Bring your own kayak or tinnie and launch down on the river flat accessed by road 5 minutes away.

Comfortable dining for 6 inside looking over the river.

Wi-fi is not available -bring your own - or enjoy a tech free break.

* the third bedroom is accessed by going through the second bedroom or via an outside access door. A curtain in the doorway between bedroom 2 and 3 ensures privacy.

Guest access

Enjoy the house to yourself. Kate, our caretaker next door will leave the key out for you and be available if you have any issues. House Manual available upon arrival has contact details and other information to ensure you have a trouble free stay.

Other things to note

Please be aware of the Fire Danger Rating and fire bans during summer. Have a Bushfire Action Plan in place and listen to ABC891 on high risk days.

Amazing place!

This property was fantastic, originally selected due to availability and location, but upon arrival there was a set up fire place, spacious rooms and an amazing view. I look forward to staying again for a leisurely holiday. Beautiful place and location!

Nice Getaway.

Nice property, but it lacked some basics. Would love to see a microwave and perhaps a toasty machine. Outdoor furniture could be a little better too. The place is nice but a little tired.

Clean and comfortable.

All good, thankyou. Took me back to my Mums house in a good way. Fire was great. If the back verhanda was secure it would have been better for the curious dog but thats just an observation and thankyou for allowing my pup.

Great Return Trip

Returned with my family this time. Could not find the instruction book, but as I had been here before all OK. After one cloudy day, the off-the-grid power failed, but quick response from management.

Great value River Murray outlook accommodation

Peaceful secure property overlooking River Murray. Plenty of firewood for combustion heater. Lots of space (you could dance in the kitchen). Great verandah to observe the birds. Disappointed with no microwave but soon adjusted to cooking with gas cooktop.

Peaceful retreat

Greeted by the happy resident border collie, we were presented with a large spacious open plan living room including beautiful views of the river during the day and clear views of the stars at night. A laid back and peaceful location close to Cadell and the 24hr ferry, onward to beautiful Caudo vineyard. Lovely for a quiet couple's retreat or a family getaway. We listened to the CD and cassette collection with curiosity; the technology was a little like Nanna and Grandpa's house and we would in future bring our Bluetooth speakers. While the river looked close, the house sits on a cliff, so a short drive down a gravel road or a 15 minutes meander takes you to the river. We had a wonderful time.

Eco House on the Murray

Peaceful, relaxing place to unwind. Only negative- I've never seen so many red back spiders!! Other than that, we really enjoyed Our stay & being able to bring our dog was fantastic. Thanks to the hosts.

Hassle free and perfect location

We had a great stay here. House is neat and had everything we needed. Location was perfect for trips to Loch Luna, Morgan, Waikerie, etc. as well as a spot on the river close by to launch the kayak and fish. Friendly help close by if needed (we lost power at one point) otherwise you are left alone to enjoy the peace. House is high up so has nice view and we saw a few great sunsets, but with those views comes strong winds. Highly recommended property....thank you.

Comfortable home with breathtaking view.

An open plan comfortable house with a wonderful sweeping view of the Murray River surrounded by birdsong - our kind of place. Cheese and beverage at sunset on the front porch a must and we will definitely go back. Do read all the information about the solar battery limits as we got caught out on a heavily overcast day.

Overall great accommodation.

The house is in a perfect position with beautiful views from high above the river. Perfect for watching the sunset over the river and distant hills. The living areas of the house were spacious and well furnished. we loved it. One drawback is that bedrooms 2 and 3 are separated by a doorway with a curtain which could affect some groups. With a snorer in the group one of us decamped to the living room - not good for those wanting more privacy either. Would work for families with children.

A restful sojourn with views

The property is a wonderful retreat for a relaxing stay. Take some books - you will enjoy the peace and quiet during the day and the stars at night are awesome. Sitting on the verandah admiring the view of the river is absolutely therapeutic. A great place for a few days break.

Peaceful retreat

Perfect location to sit back, relax and let the world go by. Beautiful river views and lots of bird watching. Excellent wood fire to warm us on the chilly nights. Disappointed with lack of access to river + and nowhere to walk. Place generally needs a freshen up.

Fabulous Location and gorgeous home

What an amazing little gem of a home overlooking the Murray River! The view is absolutely stunning and the house is just fabulous! We were so pleased we booked and will definitely return!!

Family friendly and fun.

With 4 adults and 4 children this was a great location. We enjoyed relaxing with a glass of wine at night watching the sunset after a full day of fun on the river. While the kids enjoyed exploring the outdoors and getting back to nature. The owners made contact the day before we arrived to answer any questions. Would highly recommend.

Magnificent and restful
