Lovely couple of days by the ocean. The house is spacious and well equipped. I would say it is due for an update of styling and some little bits of maintenance. The bbq is needing a degrease and benches and walls a good clean. The location is stunning.

The house has everything you need, well stocked, great kitchen appliances, comfy beds. Lots of storage for boards and bikes. And the location is amazing. We had breakfast on the front deck watching the surfers and the morning walkers. Sleeping to the sounds of the waves. And so close to various activities, restaurants, and cafes. We also found the owner, Amanda, amazing to communicate with and arrange our stay. We're very happy with our time at the Beach House👌

We (two families) has a wonderful two night stay at The Beach House. The location was perfect with an easy walk to the ocean baths and yummy dinner venue. Whilst the weather was not in our favour, we all thoroughly enjoyed the use of the spa and relaxing in the lounge room with a gorgeous view of the ocean. The kitchen was well equipped and there was enough room for the 9 of us to relax without feeling on top of each other. Beds were comfortable and we were all grateful for the inclusion of beach towels. Highly recommend.

Merewhether Beach House is set up well for a great stay at a great location. The house has a beaut lounge and kitchen with views to the ocean. The master bedroom is very special and the spa was a highlight.

Great location but for the price, it needs more.
I was there for my wedding with my bridal party the first night then my husband the second night. I booked for 6 adults, we got 4 towels only. The place also says you cannot use white towels when removing makeup but gave us only two makeup towels, again for 6 women. The sprinklers came on not long before we needed to leave for the wedding and I had to request they be switched off to avoid getting soaked! I had read so many reviews at the owners being really strict on noise so we went into the stay very anxious as a group of girls just can be noisy from speaking and laughing despite being very respectful of the no patty rule! There were SO many rules and we found that odd because when paying $1500+ per night, you would hope it’s a relaxing stay!! There was no personalisation, no note or champagne when they knew it was for a wedding and we spent just under $4000 for 2 nights, something small goes a long way. The actual place is stunning, very modern and luxe and of course 10/10 views!

Bliss at the Beach House
This is a great venue for anyone who’s visiting Newcastle and especially Merewether to stay. Looking out to the Merewether surf makes any meal or moment of relaxation the more enjoyable. Easy parking, great inclusions, wonderful host all make for marvellous Merewether moments. CH. December 22.

Owner lives next door and micromanages your entire stay, terrible experience!!
I never write reviews so for me to do so is saying something in itself, please don’t waste your money by staying here. The house itself was stunning but the owner/manager Amanda obviously lives next door and ruined our stay by constantly messaging outrageous requests and threatening to kick you out the entire stay. We checked in at 3pm, she first messaged me at 6.50pm on a Friday evening and asking us to move inside and close the doors as we were sitting on the front dining table enjoying a cheeseboard. She said we were being too loud and she won’t hesitate to get security to come and kick us out. There were only 6 of us and we were not being louder than an average family (we are all mothers, treating ourself to a weekend away). Anyway out of fear we moved inside away from the beautiful beach view and went out the back of the house we’re the hot tub is. We were enjoying a drink in the tub and she continued to email and message saying how loud we were and needed to move inside and shut all the doors and windows this was our last warning before she called her security team to evict us, confirming we wouldn’t get our money back for the rest of our weekend. It was a complete nightmare, please don’t stay here and put yourself through this. We felt like we had to whisper the entire time. The next day we saw her outside in her balcony and said we didn’t understand the problem it was 6pm, daylight and we were barley making any noise. She denied being the owner and it wasn’t her but she was lady in pictures on the stayz website.

A magical place to stay

Wonderful Holiday
This house was perfect for our family Christmas. The location is wonderful. Right opposite the beach with spectacular views and a short stroll to the salt water baths. There are some great cafes and restaurants within a short stroll. The house itself is absolutely beautiful inside but still very homely and relaxing. It had everything we needed. I can’t recommend it highly enough and we will certainly come back to stay. Thank you Amanda and Adam.

We have five children and we love travelling, so we know all the things that families look for in a holiday rental. We love bringing families and friends together to create magical memories in a spectacular location.

Why they chose this property

When we purchased the property a few years ago, it was an old 1950s beach cottage, and was the only traditional beach house remaining on the waterfront in Newcastle. We had a vision to restore and renovate it to create modern holiday accommodation for families and small groups visiting Newcastle because we realised that our beautiful city was attracting tourists and business visitors but had very little accommodation that would allow guests to truly feel at home while also having lots of luxurious touches.

We spent almost a year working onsite every day with wonderful local builders and tradespeople to bring our vision of the perfect holiday home to life.

What makes this property unique

The Beach House at Merewether has breathtaking ocean views, all the modern technology you could dream of, and everything you could possibly need for a luxury beach holiday creating lifelong memories. The spa and fireplace will help you wind down and the house is within walking distance of coffee shops, restaurants and scenic lookouts so you can leave the car at home and truly relax.

We have thought of everything - sheer as well as block out blinds, still and sparkling filtered water on tap, your choice of two different shower heads depending on your preference (rainfall style or handheld wall mounted), heated towel racks, switchable frosted glass on the front door and master bedroom to give you the choice of admiring the view or getting instant privacy, gaming device points in the second (children's) bedroom, an additional low recess in the shower walls for ease of shaving legs, lots of storage space, power points in bedroom cupboards for charging devices, shoe and trouser racks, Sonos sound system, Netflix, surfboard racks, outdoor drinks fridge, outdoor shower, bike racks in secure outdoor cupboard, double oven, warming drawer, all the appliances and utensils you could ever possibly need (including large sandwich press, coffee machine, rice cooker, pasta maker, children's crockery and cutlery, etc), Dyson stick vacuum, and a selection of board games, children's and adults books.
