About this property

Twin Creek Cottage- a secluded forest retreat.

Come stay at Twin Creeks Cottage!

This peaceful paradise is a 1920s cottage is set in a magical garden and secluded amongst the forest of Scotchman's Creek gully.

With wild forest as your nearest neighbour, and views down to the valley and onto Mt Donna Buang, you'll feel like you have the whole valley to yourself. Cafes and shops are still an easy walk or bike ride away.

The House:
The cottage is a pretty, sun-flooded space with a combination of historic character, huge windows and all the mod cons. It consists of a living room, three bedrooms (with beds for up to 6), a secluded sitting room with a fold-out double bed, a kitchen and bathroom. The master bedroom (with ensuite) has floor-ceiling windows facing the forest and mountain, so you can commune with nature without getting out of bed!

There is plenty of space to socialise; a living room with an open fire and panoramic mountain views, a full kitchen, an indoor dining room and an outdoor deck (with dining table and BBQ) where you can sit back and watch the weather change on the mountain.

The Garden:
The house is set in a stunning garden surrounded by two mountain creeks. This paradise full of fruit trees and a vast variety of flowers, snaking paths and secret statues is an adventure for kids and adults alike! The garden is also full of wildlife from the nearby forest: as well as the choir of kookaburras, you'll hear the call of deer at the creek, see wombats shuffling in the undergrowth and meet the lorikeets that come to perch on the deck at dusk.

You'll have exclusive access to the whole property for the length of your stay.

The area:
Scotchmans creek gully is a quiet valley, walking distance to Warburton's shops and cafes, but sheltered from the hustle and bustle of the town and perfect for people that want to be in the middle of the forest.

The area is famous for biking and bushwalking. The Lilydale-Warburton Bike track passes past the end of the street, and the 'Backstairs Track' hike up Mt. Little Joe leaves basically from your doorstep. Beautiful Yarra river is also an easy walk down the road.

Other things to note:
Most times we are flexible with check-in/out times. Please let us know if you would like to arrive earlier/depart later.
We have 2 toboggans and 4 adult bikes that our guests are welcome to use (bring your own helmets). We do our best to maintain the bikes, but can not guarantee they are always in a good nick as we are not always able to check on them between the guests.

We loved our stay in the cottage. It surpassed our expectations due to the amazing location & beautiful garden. The large windows captured the view and we loved sitting on the couches and watching the mountains. The cottage was clean and cosy and very comfortable.

A lovely cottage on the edge of the forest.

This was the second stay for our family at this beautiful cottage. We love the warm & welcoming feel and spectacular views of the forest and mountains. The boys really enjoyed the games and toys. The host was extremely helpful and responded quickly to any Qs. We hope to be back.

Yarra girls

What a brilliant location and accommodation for friends to catch up in .Relaxing, peaceful , beautiful gardens with spectacular views . The owner was so prompt in responding to any queries. The house was spotlessly clean on our arrival and all the basics were there .There is so much to see and do in surrounding areas a week is not enough to do it justice. The only thing we would have added at the property is a bird feeder in view of the back deck area.

Lovely house surrounded by stunning gardens

We had a memorable family get-together at this beautiful old property. The views from the picture windows, looking over the extensive gardens and mountains in the distance, were stunning. We enjoyed having meals on the back deck, watching the prolific birdlife, and admiring the view. The house was nicely furnished, and featured all the conveniences and equipment we needed. The host was most helpful with useful information, and quickly dealt with a problem we encountered on arrival. The interesting old town of Warburton is an easy, pleasant walk from the property. I would definitely go back to this place - I'd love to see it in Spring when the trees and shrubs are in flower.

Beautiful peaceful home

We enjoyed a wonderful couple of days in this beautiful home, it had everything you could possibly need and the most stunning views from the huge lounge and bedroom windows. The bird life in the extensive garden was an absolute treat, so many different ones to watch. It was such a treat to sit outside on the decking and listen to all the bird calls. The owners are lovely and accommodating. Hoping to get back there soon.

Perfect for a girls weekend ....

Twin Creek Cottage is in a very tranquil setting which includes a lush , rambling garden and breath-taking mountain views.... especially from lounge , master bedroom & deck . It is very well equipped & comfortable & made a perfect base for the 5 of us to explore Warburton & surrounds . It has easy access to the Warby trail & it was only a short walk into town .....plenty of shops , cafes & of course , the river walk . We also drove “ further afield” & explored Redwood Forest & the Rainforest Gallery. This was the second time I have stayed at the Cottage. Marina was very readily contactable & the whole process from booking onwards was straightforward. Thanks ... we’ve all had a great time !

Great location & spacious house

This property was beautiful, with well kept grounds, clean rooms and some spacious living areas. The large windows allow views of the nearby mountains which is great to wake up to. We saw a variety of birds and a wombat on the property during our stay. The house is also well-located - just around the corner from a great restaurant (Symphony 36) and a short walk from the town shops. Bushwalks are available from the property itself or a short drive. It is right on the Warburton to Lilydale rail trail for those who like bike riding; and close to Mt Donna Buang for the keen road cyclist. It is also a short drive to the Yarra Valley and within range for a day trip to Melbourne if it's raining. We're already planning to return. Only down side was that the bed in the master bedroom was really hard. Other than that we would highly recommend a stay here and wish we could have stayed longer.

Secluded serenity

We stayed at Twin Creek Cottage for our daughters wedding. Absolutely loved the cottage which was actually a house. Lovely original details in the old part of the building. Marina has made a homely, comfortable and very well equipped home away from home for her guests. The cottage was also very clean. The gardens were amazing and I would have loved to have more time to explore them. The guests that joined us also loved it. I would highly recommend staying at Twin Creek Cottage. Marina was a very obliging and helpful host. We will be back again. Thank you Marina.

Amazing views!

We spent a week over New Years Eve At Twin Creek Cottage. we had our 2 children aged 4 and 20months with us. The setting is so secluded and the views are amazing! We had so much fun exploring the gardens and secret passages around the house. The tree swing was also a winner with our boys. We spent most mornings sitting on the couch lookin out at the mountain across the valley. Bliss! The road to the cottage is gravel so we weren’t able to walk to town with our pram as much as we would have liked, but it is a quick trip in the car. The cottage is simple, but had everything we needed! We would stay again for sure.

Magical Property!

What a truly stunning property! We can't wait to come back. The property was so clean and well thought out. Heating in every room, electric blankets, plenty of wood for the fireplace and unlimited hot water. Little touches like the board games, books and the abundant supply of tea and coffee made this property feel like home... The views were out of this world and maximised by the floor to ceiling windows. The yard was a child's wonderland! We stayed in the winter so a day trip to the snow but I cant wait to come in summer also. The owners were easy to get hold of for any questions we had. I will not stay in any other accomodation in Warburton if I can help it!!

Cozy Getaway !

My partner and I plus another couple stayed at The Twin Creek Cottage for a weekend getaway to the Yarra Valley and couldn't have been more pleased with our stay. Upon arrival we lit the fireplace with the firewood supplied and explored the vast property. We used the back deck to make our dinner on the BBQ and took in the serenity. Our rooms were large and comfortable and each room had it's own heater which was a nice surprise. Fully equipped kitchen made mornings a breeze and the we spent all of our time in the living room with a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains. The town itself was adorable and we were close to the National Park which we spent our days hiking through.Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place in the Healesville/Warburton area and we plan on staying again in the future!
