We enjoyed our stay. House was close to Custer State Park and the town of Custer, so visiting those places was easy. I would suggest a tankless, on demand water heater so that there would be more hot water available. With 13 people we had to be careful who showered/bathed when. There was a good amount of space for everyone who stayed. The theatre room was a fun addition, might be nice to be able to stream movies there also. The hot tub was a highlight. The bath towels need to be updated as they were rough and had an odor. Wi-Fi is slow, May need an upgrade. There were plenty of dishes and cups to use. The grandchildren enjoyed the outdoor games and fire pit. We definitely enjoyed our time here, just a few suggestions to make things perfect. Thanks for sharing your place with us.
There were 14 adults in the house and everyone was very comfortable! We were able to fit 8 large dresser Harley's in the garage, enjoyed the spa, and the fire pit every night. We felt very cozy and happy to share the experience of our trip staying altogether. Chantelle, the owner, was so helpful and understanding during our planning, especially with the Covid 19 going on. We highly recommend this location for a large family or group of friends!
Great place! Pictures online matched perfectly.
We had 5 groups staying together and we all had plenty of room. Kids played and grown ups enjoyed the game room. Loved that there was no t.v in the main meeting places. The movie room was a hit and surprisingly sound proof. We had a fabulous time. Great location too... private but close to town and the drive to local spots were beautiful and short.
Thie inn had plenty of room for our group of 6 adults and 6 kids with space to spare. The location is perfect, close to Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, and Crazy Horse. Thanks for a great weekend!
There were several of us staying here during the length of the Mickelson Trail Trek (bicycle ride), and the place was well-suited for our needs. Clean, functional, and large, we had plenty of space. The on-line description is quite accurate, and dependable.
The hot tub was perfect after a day of cycling. The place itself is beautiful, and the facilities excellent. Access to the Mickleson spur was a bonus, and quite handy.
We hope to be able to return next year, as this property was exactly what we needed.
Thank you to the 8 Brothers!
Our four-generation group of 14 stayed at the Eight Brothers Inn for a week and had a great time. The bar and lounge, game table, darts, theatre room, popcorn machine, ping pong, hot tub, fire table, front and back decks (with views of visiting deer) and well-stocked toy closet were all big hits! Chantelle responded right away when I contacted her with questions. The home is on three acres and feels private but it’s a quick trip up the road for groceries in Custer. Our group enjoyed Mount Rushmore, ziplining in Keystone, Evan’s Plunge in Hot Springs, the Presidential Wax Museum, The Reptile Gardens in Rapid City, souvenir shopping in Custer and Keystone, driving through Custer State Park, and just relaxing and enjoying family time at the Inn. The Inn is well located, comfortable and had everything we needed including high chairs and a pack-n-play for our one-year old.
There were 4 families (total of 18 of us) and we all fit wonderfully without feeling as though we were on top of one another. Very clean and comfortable. Excellent location! We will definitely be back!! The only thing that was negative was an element went out in the water heater. Lots of cool baths and showers. We checked in Thursday, but couldn’t get it fixed till Monday (and we were checking out on Tuesday). So unfortunately it didn’t help our stay. We weren’t compensated for our inconvenience, nonetheless we’d still come back! When the issue was brought up to Chantelle, it was promptly dealt with, but it’s hard to get it done on a weekend. Any questions we had were always dealt with immediately.
We had a wonderful time at the Eight Brother’s Inn. We enjoyed the outdoor sitting area, the waterfall, hot tub, fire pit, the cool bar with the margarator machine, and the media room.
The beds were comfortable as well!
We (from MN) met up with family from CO and had a fantastic time. The property is beautiful and super close to a bunch of fun things. We got to do Bear Country USA, Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, etc. Wonderful trip!
Eight Brothers Inn is a fabulous home for large groups and the owners are great to work with. This is my second time renting in 2 years and have no complaints. The home is in a great location to hit up the sites in Custer State Park, Hill City and Keystone areas. Our family also enjoyed hanging around the home playing games, using the hot tub, watching movies in the theater room, and sitting on the decks watching for deer. We hope to be back again soon!
We had 15 in our party and you would never have known it if you would have entered the house when we were all there. There was so much to do. With us having 5 teenagers and a 10 year old, they never complained that they were bored. The biggest hit, was the movie room. We all loved the whole set up and how easy it was to do. They played darts. learned how to play ping pong, played games, made popcorn and everyone had a bed to sleep in. I was worried with the house being in a neighborhood, but you would have never known you were. The house sits up on a little hill and you feel that you are in the woods all by yourself. Very, very neat set up and easy to get to the attractions that the Black Hills have to offer. Our only regret is, that we ran out of time to do everything that we wanted to do at the house. Next time we will stay longer. Had a WONDERFUL TIME in a BEAUTIFUL HOUSE!
Wonderful property, convenient to many attractions in the Hills. After a busy day we enjoyed the outdoor spaces around the house. Hot tub, corn hole tournaments and utilized patio and fire pit. We really enjoyed our week at the Inn.
Our family of 14 was very impressed and was so very happy with our stay at the 8 Brothers lodge! Plenty of space for everyone, the hot tub and movie room were enjoyed by all when we needed some quiet time. Kitchen was well stocked and maintained, toy room was awesome, and everything was clean, top to bottom! Both front porch and back porch was great for outdoor time in a very nice, quiet neighborhood. Lodge was also conveniently close to Custer and surrounding local towns and attractions. Wish we could have stayed longer. We highly recommend 8 Brothers Lodge!
Clean, big, and beautiful views ! I recommend this place to anyone who likes a quiet outdoors but beautiful scenery.

8 Brothers Inn: Excellent choice for a large family
Perfect location for our family of ten to explore the Mt. Rushmore area. Lovely home, well appointed. Our family enjoyed the theater room and popcorn machine several times! The size of this home made it possible for privacy and space for all the different needs of a family with young children, parents and grandparents.

About the host
Hosted by Chantelle and Scott Kirsch
We purchased this property after ten years plus of dreaming about having a home in the Black Hills. We have been blessed with eight beautiful sons, hence the name of our home! We work and live in east river SD on a farm 15 miles from town. Scott is a rancher/salebarn owner-operator and Chantelle is busy raising the boys. Our sons range in age from 23-2 so we are very busy. We love it!
Why they chose this property
We chose to buy a home in the Black Hills because this is where we come to relax and enjoy life. We come out yearly for hunting trips and to four-wheel. The past several years we have come out to spend Thanksgiving weekend with the boys and now it is a tradition. We love the beauty of the hills, the serenity.
What makes this property unique
We chose this home because it is a perfect home to entertain our family, from the youngest to the oldest! Not only the theater and electronics, but the outdoor space with the hot tub and all the wildlife that entertains us. The home feels cozy and homey but it is big enough to lose people in! We love our home and we hope that you fall in love with it too!
