This gorgeous unpretentious beach cottage sits on absolute beachfront with beach walks fishing and digging your feet in the sand right at the door - SERIOUSLY AT YOUR DOOR!
Fully airconditioned for the few days of the year when the beautiful sea breezes are not cooling you down, this 3 bed, 1 bathroom cottage is perfect for either a small family holiday, for one or two couples or a small group of friends.
Although unpretentious, it is beautifully decorated in relaxed beach style and offers all the modern conveniences needed. Full laundry and modern fully equipped kitchen and outdoor BBQ offer cooking options for those day when you just don't want to leave the property. Features include a generous grassed back yard for the kids to run or for a game of cricket, a kids cubby house and a pool over looking the Coral Sea.
Situated only 10 - 15 minutes north of the Cairns CBD, the hidden gem suburb of Machans Beach offers truly laid back lifestyle without too many tourists but with the convenience of a great local store, Post Office, take away and fuel station plus a fabulous coffee shop and pub style restaurant on the Esplanade.
Convenient access to all local tourist attractions and the local bus service and a short drive to other Cairns beaches. Port Douglas is only a 50 minute drive.

Beach front nature

Great cottage on the beach. Great for walks but not for swimming even in the season. Village is great with Mayham’s cafe and the pub. Cottage cared for by agent not owners and little items are not checked. However agent responsive. Loved our stay.

Best hoilday in a long time

It was the relaxing and quietest places l have stayed in, very easy access to the beach and many other amenities. I would highly recommend anyone to stay there, l will look at returning again myself sometime in the future.

We simply didn't want to leave! Waking up to those amazing sunrises every day was incredible. The property was in an amazing location and the kids loved being able to go down to the beach whenever they liked. Highly recommended!

Beautiful property in beautiful location

My husband and I stayed for just over a week and absolutely loved the location. Waking up to sunsets right on the beach and falling asleep to the sounds of the ocean was amazing. The owners were great communicators. The house itself had everything we needed and was very clean The pool was clean and the perfect temperature Thank you!

Great location. Close to the beach, cafes and restaurant. Consumables a little short in supply. Closest big supermarket about a 12 minute drive so handy to do a shop before arrival.

Literally On The Beach!

A renovated and extended original beachside house- literally on the beach. Go to sleep and wake up to the sounds of waves- watch nature in action as the tides come and go. Swim in the pool if its warm enough! Deb was very responsive and welcoming with anything we needed assistance with. Enjoy!

Beach haven

We loved this place. The backyard was the beach and we spent a lot of time there not reading our books because the water was so mesmerising. We didn’t have a car and relied on Ubers which worked well for us as a couple. Arranged a grocery delivery prior to our arrival and the host kindly came over and put the perishables in the fridge. The sound of the sea at night was great and the kitchen was well equipped for our needs. Add to this a pool and a walkable pub/restaurant and we were very content.

Beach front cottage

We had a fabulous 6 night stay at this lovely cottage which is right on the beach. The property is really well stocked, clean, with a large garden and is in a lovely suburb just north of Cairns. The property is advertised for 6 but it's really only suitable for 5, unless the 6th person is a young child. Other than this though I'd highly rate this property.

The real deal for absolute beach front "shack" accomodation.

Well kept and with good facilities. Great support from property managers and very little airport noise as off the flight path. Village is delightful and quirky and overall great location. SandFleas around this time of year so need to use repellant. Would definitely stay again.

Perfect Location

We absolutely loved the location of this property. When we first arrived in Cairns it was raining. It rained for 3 days, and hubbie was getting cabin fever as there was very little outside covered space. I was fine, as I can find a spot anywhere to read a good book. Then the sun came out and his attitude changed. Loved sitting beach side every morning and afternoon, watching people walk their dogs, people fishing and the boats on the water. It was divine. Huge thank you to Deb for allowing us an early check in due to the rainy weather. Had plans to do sightseeing on the Atherton Tablelands until 2.00pm. So again, a huge thanks. House had more than everything you would need except it truly needs a decent egg flip (sorry). Also maybe a mop, but that could be negotiable. But I would of used it if there was one available. Beds very comfy, bathroom good size, interior of house was lovely, but the pool and the view was one of the best experiences ever. Not to be missed on your next holiday to FNQ. Loved it

Great location and everything we needed

We loved spending a few days at this delightfully well appointed home. The sounds of the ocean right at our door was so relaxing and yet we were able to access the restaurants and shops within 10-15 mins drive. Would highly recommend this home for a relaxing getaway.
