Reunion
We booked, based on dates for family reunion. Dates changed, but owner could not grasp that booking was for 2023, not 2022. He declined to change, so cousin booked necessary dates and we shared the house. Owner was most amenable to this. My family had stayed in this house, several times, when my sister and I were young. We had loved it. Improvements to the house are wonderful - ensuite bathroom, internal toilets! In our day, there was an outdoor dunny! The house is a beautiful, Queenslander style, with Art Deco hints. However, it was a bit down-at-heel, in need of a good clean and replacement of some fixtures - missing light fittings, dirty ceiling fans. Pantry was not supplied - no foil, clingwrap, oil, pepper, no oven mitts. We found salt, eventually, but grinders were empty. We were bombarded by messages - take off shoes, don’t leave marks on dining table, take short showers, because the septic tank won’t cope with excess water. Annoying! The house was advertised as accommodating 14 guests! Not a chance. The downstairs dungeon was likely not even legal! Multiple beds, but no toilet/bathroom. Three bedrooms, two toilets; one bathroom and one ensuite, for 14 people. Top dollar. Great for parties of 6 adults, not for any more.

Perfect location, lovely house
We had a great stay at the Pines in Mylestom. The house is a perfect holiday rental - the location is ideal. There is a track to a dog friendly (off leash) Beach at the end of the block and the store/cafe and tidal pool on the river are a block and a half away. You can hear the surf at night. The kitchen is small but well equipped. The deck is small but comfortable. There is a courtyard, undercover space, outdoor shower and back gate, that are beach and dog friendly. Furniture is minimal but works with some imagination. Only one room has storage so guests will be living out of bags. The dining table is large. Shame there is nowhere to eat near the kitchen (small table or bench) but space is at a premium so it would be a sacrifice. Heaps of room downstairs suitable for rainy day activities - plenty of beds. I read the previous reviews so I brought camping lights for the bedside tables and a head torch for the bbq. If I had a lot of guests, I would also bring camping chairs and tables for downstairs. Linen, bedding and towels are plentiful and beautiful quality. Lots of tableware if good quality. Bathrooms (2) are stunning. Dogs are welcome at the owners discretion. Our three retrievers had a wonderful time and the courtyard and deck were suitable for them. It is a small outdoor space but we were always out, so it didn’t matter. We were very aware that the neighbours were elderly so we were careful with early morning barking. The photos show a lot more furniture than is actually in the house but it wasn’t an issue for us - it had what we needed. The indoor seating is not suitable for bad backs so we brought the chairs in from the back deck for visiting older friends with dodgy backs. It worked. Overall - fabulous. Great location, easy to communicate with the owner and suitable as advertised for lots of people and/or dogs. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Fantastic Family Stay
"The Pines" was just as pictured on the site. A fabulous home for our 2 families to relax & unwind for a few days. The house was spacious, very clean & the styling was beautiful. Bathrooms were stunning and we loved the charm of the property! Plenty of quality cookware, crockery and everything you could need for a group stay. Location!! plus plus!! The beach & river is a stones throws away, quite literally from the house. Fishing, swimming for the kids was perfect. Great café and shop, tidal netted pool is just a 2 minute walk. Can not fault this family holiday home! It was truly prefect! Communications with the host was perfect as well. Happy Happy Plus :)

Lovely location and property
We really enjoyed our stay as it was a special family birthday. The location was spectacular, ocean one side and estuary the other, all in a few minutes walk. The house was unique, cosy with lovely decor and very comfortable beds. Unfortunately there were several maintenance things that affected our stay and we would recommend they be attended to. Lack of enough toilet tissue for 7 guests over 5 nights, we ran out by the morning of day 3. Bedside lamps would be useful in the bedrooms. There was no teapot or coffee plunger. A teapot and coffee plunger would be handy when you want a relaxing cuppa. The Range hood had no lights, so you could not see Food when cooking. Only 2 slices of a 4 slice toaster worked making it time consuming at breakfast for a larger group. The BBQ was filthy with grease and left over meat residue, my husband cleaned it but then decided not to use it. The Final morning the gas ran out so we could not cook breakfast or the fish the guys caught for breakfast. We are sorry to mention these things but in reality they are simple and essential for a comfortable stay. We would love to return again, but would also like to know that these things were in working order or filled for use.

Beautiful Mylestom
Excellent location and facilities. A few minutes walk to the river, the beach or the Bowling club for a meal. The grandkids went boating, fishing and surfing. Yes it was the middle of winter but the water was warm and we had a few lovely sunny days. The house was well equipped and the setup downstairs for the kids was amazing. They were especially impressed with the table tennis and the outdoor firepit. Beautiful home, lovely location and excellent facilities. All the ingredients for a great family stay.

Suitable for families with kids. Not so good for a group of eight ladies
Property is beautifully maintained outside. We had difficulty with internet connection. Rang James who told us that the property manager must have taken the book with details. Said she would drop it off that afternoon. Email, with details, received at 11:52 on the day we left & had already checked out. Still haven’t sighted property manager! Website stated on Stayz that there were 6 queen size beds in bedroom 4. This is incorrect. There is a double bed & 3 single beds. Downstairs was also quite musty. Mylestom itself is a beautiful town & close to Belligen & Dorrigo.

Really nicely presented property.
What a great place to stay. Starting with the 'essentials' - the beds were comfy, quality pillows, linen and towels are supplied. The kitchen is well equipped with quality appliances, crockery and cookware and in quantity enough to match the sleeping capacity of the house. Plenty of separate living areas for people to get away from each other, or get together over a meal etc. There is big screen TV, netflix, Apple TV and Wifi - so despite Mylestom being a sleepy little seaside/riverside village you can stay in contact with your world if you wish (or just pretend you're out of range if you prefer!). Location is within easy walk to the river (100m), local park and netted pool (300m) and patrolled ocean beach (400m), General store (300m) and the local bowling club (400m). If looking at Mylestom you'll know that Bellingen and Coffs are a 20 min drive away. The host was very responsive on the comms. Highly recommended. Thanks! We'll be back!
