This 3 bedroom fisherman's cottage sleeps six and is just minutes walk to the calm waters of Patonga Beach and Patonga Creek and walking distance to the famous Boathouse Hotel Patonga www.theboathousehotelpatonga.com.au
Sit out on the large deck with a glass of wine or a beer and relax with a good book. Cook a BBQ or turn your hand to creating a pizza masterpiece or two in the well appointed kitchen. The pizza oven on the deck is large enough to cook 3 family sized pizzas at one time. Don't want to cook then The Boathouse Hotel Patonga serves a great meal and is located at the end of the street at 6-8 Patonga Drive. Fish and chips or coffee and cake can also be ordered to take away. Umina shopping village is 15 minutes drive for supplies and includes an Aldi, Coles and Woolworths, good coffee shops and boutiques for your other holiday needs.
Go kayaking or paddle-boarding on the Creek or throw in a line and catch a fish or two. Swim in the clear waters beachside or venture across the Creek to explore the shoreline on the other side. Bring along your own push bikes to ride around the wide streets of this small fishing village of only 220 houses.
There are a number of bush walks but probably the best one is to Pearl Beach through the Brisbane Water National Park. Find the walk at the North end of Patonga Beach. Follow the signs into the national park up and over the hill to the spectacular Warrah lookout with views of the Hawkesbury River and Pacific Ocean. Then walk along the fire trail, following the signs to Pearl Beach. Be sure to keep an eye out for bush turkeys and an ear open for kookaburras. Don’t forget to wear good walking shoes and take plenty of water and a snack.
A well behaved dog is welcome. This means a dog that does not bark uncontrollably when left alone and is completely toilet trained. Your dog is not permitted to sleep on beds or lounges so please remember to take along its bedding.
Patonga is a 90 minute drive north from Sydney. Drive to Patonga or drive to Palm Beach and come into Patonga by ferry. The ferry jetty docks just across from the Boathouse Hotel which is a hive of activity for visitors and pelicans alike. The ferry leaves and returns to Palm Beach at least twice a day.

Well appointed cottage, spotlessly clean and conveniently located to beach and local amenities. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. Everything was well supplied and every last detail thought of down to children’s beach toys. The Hosts were very easy to deal with and more than obliging. Highly recommended.
We came back for the second year in a row to Michelle's cottage as it is literally the perfect beach shack - clean, big enough for a family of four plus puppy, equipped with everything you might need during a holiday (I ended up having to put together a pavlova and I've even found a mixer to whip-up the cream!!), amazing backyard and ideal location - quiet but very close to pub and beach. We will be coming back for sure!
It was only a short stay but we thoroughly enjoyed it! Due to our plans we were able to check in early and check out late due to no other bookings so this made our stay so much better! Appreciated the prompt response in communication so that our planning needs were met. Thank you 🙏

There is a lovely beach vibe as soon as you walk in the front door. We loved the large outside deck, the pizza oven, all the home from home essentials you may need while you’re away and how relaxing the property was to stay at
Our family had a great time. Location is very close to the beach and the house has all the kids need to be entertained. Will definitely recommend this place and would love to book this place again in the future getaway.
The beach house at Patonga was a wonderful house. It is beautifully renovated with everything you need to make your stay extremely comfortable. There is a great, large covered outdoor area with a range of comfortable furniture where we lived for the week - very relaxing. A great location - one block to the dog beach and two blocks from a great pub. The yard was secure which was great for my dog and I got the artist down the road to paint a portrait of my dog which was a fun experience and the portrait is very like her. We had a wonderful week thanks to our lovely hosts.
Thank you for a wonderful short stay. The cottage is beautifully beachy, neat and clean. Really appreciate all the effort you have put into anticipating our every comfort!
The weather was cold but that didn't dampen our stay.
5 Star :-)
We had a fantastic time here, the house is lovely, well-stocked, super clean and you cannot ask for a better location. The backyard provided hours of entertaining for our kids and puppy.
We would love to come hear again.
We loved our weekend away to slow down, recharge and spend time as a family. The house has everything we needed and the hosts awesome, thanks for the pizza tips!
Thank you so much Michelle, we really enjoyed our stay at your gorgeous beach house. The property contained everything that we needed and more and a short walk to the Boat House restaurant. Very convenient!
We had a fab getaway over the long weekend. The property is really well appointed with everything we needed and was just a short stroll to the beach. The backyard was spacious and captured lots of sun. We will be back!

Patonga Xmas
Patonga is a unique little place. A remote feeling but an easy drive from Sydney. Our holiday house provided everything we needed & with lots of charming character touches. Well equipped kitchen with good quality appliances also good quality sheets & towels & furnishings. Easy access to the dog friendly beach & a short walk to the great pub offering delicious food.
This was the second stay at this property with one little dog. A fantastic location close to the pub but far enough away to be peaceful.
The house has all the necessities to make an easy stay. Well equipped kitchen and lots of towels in the bathroom.
The backyard has been updated since our last visit and sitting under the almost all day sunshine in winter on the deck was just magic!
Definitely recommend for a short or even long stay.

The minute the family heard they had a pizza oven it was game on. We arrived and had dinner at The Boathouse which was fantastic. Over the next few days we cooked, walked, relaxed and played games that Michelle made available. Yes, the pizza oven was amazing. Happiness found. Didn’t want to leave.
We really enjoyed our stay over Easter. The location is amazing with everything within easy walking distance.
We spent a lot of time on the back deck, which is a really nice feature of the house. The only slight negative I have is a lack of wifi in the house as we couldnt get mobile reception (Vodafone) in Patonga.
The host Michelle is very responsive and helpful.

A great house with all facilities and equipment for a relaxing holiday. The only drawback, which has nothing to do with this home, is the Pub, overpriced, poor service and very ordinary food.
Best to use the great pizza oven at the house.
We will definitely return to this house when visiting Patonga

About the host
Hosted by Michelle O'Dowd
Living and growing up in Sydney has given me a unique appreciation of city living. It's also made me realise that sometimes you just need to escape from the hassle and bustle to somewhere where you can just hear the birds singing and the waves lapping. Patonga is just that place for me and my family. With only 220 homes, we are happy to share this small piece of paradise with family, friends and our guests.
Why they chose this property
My husband, daughter and I fell in love with Patonga about fifteen years ago. My dad has been fishing there for over 35 years and has always raved about it. So 10 years ago we decided to buy a cottage where we could get away from Sydney on the weekends. We've taken years to renovate it with the help of family and friends and are very happy with the results. The decor is distinctly beachy with a comfortable light and airy feel.
An outdoor BBQ and two decks and a fully equipped kitchen with basic supplies like pepper, salt, tomato sauce, oil, vinegar, glad wrap, foil, hand towel, etc. means that you can cook at home or stroll up to the Boat House Hotel for a fantastic meal or just coffee and cake.
There's also fishing rods for you and the kids to keep you busy at either the beach or the creek.
What makes this property unique
Our beach house boasts a fantastic deck and pizza oven which is probably the highlight of every holiday we spend there. Our family and friends always insist on pizza which gets everyone involved in the preparation, cooking and of course eating. Patonga is amazingly beautiful and being only 90 mins from Sydney, it is completely doable for a relaxing weekend or a longer stay.
