Left a hand mixer this year. Hopefully future guest will use and leave for the next guest. Cabin is quite comfortable and very cozy. Neighbors are there but very quiet. Locality to marina and other fun attractions makes the cabin even more enjoyable. Hot tub is wow.
This cabin was cute, had a good view and of course we enjoyed the hot tub (my hubby's favorite amenity). Exactly as advertised. We will definitely stay again. The main thing we respected is the owner's directions as they were much easier to navigate than google and were a big help as we were in a lowered car for a car driving experience at the dragon.
The cabin was everything we wanted and more, the internet went out at 2am our first night, i contacted the host and she called the cable company on 3 way to get it fixed, and gave us a partial refund for the rest of our stay.
My partner and I brought our dog here for a weekend getaway. It was perfect for us! We rested and relaxed and the cabin had all we needed - hot tub, beautiful mountain views, Roku tv, stocked kitchen, gas fire place, and is generally such a cute cabin. Shelby was so responsive and a lovely host.
Communication and directions were precise. The cabin was very clean and inviting!! The beds slept good and siting was comfortable. The fireplace was nice as well.
Relaxing in the hot tub was great. Rating this trip a 5 star all around!
Cannot say anything bad about this property! It was clean and neat and had everything we could have possibly wanted. The property manager was readily available and responded to any question I ask. Would definitely stay again.
Cabin was exactly as described. Clean, cozy and well equipped kitchen with a gas fireplace inside. Fire pit outside complete with proper firewood and plenty of seating. Hot tub, picnic table, rocking chairs on the deck with a view to die for. Hostess promptly answered all our questions and made our stay phenomenal.
We stayed in this area to explore a little more of North Carolina. It turned out great. We were a few minutes from a grocery store. One day we spent time wondering around Bryson City and inter tubing in Deep creek just north of town. The following day we went fishing on White Oak Creek. Relaxing in the hot tub at the end of the day was great - watching the sunset with a view of the mountains from the tub was fantastic. Overall, a really wonderful vacation with the family.
Cozy tree house cabin in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood! Loved seeing the sunset on the deck with my husband and dog every evening. My dog enjoyed looking out the loft window. It was nice having a fenced in deck. Fantastic Mountain View’s! Can’t wait to come back again.
After visiting Gatlinburg on day 3 of our stay, I am sooo glad we stayed far away. This is much more about a getaway in the mountains. If you are looking for the touristy stuff of PF and Gatlinburg this is not for you. The drive to GSM isn’t that bad. About an hour to the major hikes. But there is so much to do in the Nantalahala Forest and the surrounding areas that are overshadowed by GSM that are just as great. Perfect location to drive the Tail of the dragon and go White water rafting.
The house is nice…the pictures make it seem a bit bigger than it is, but it is the perfect size for a family of 6. Our group is all older than 16. Shelby is very responsive though we didn’t really have any issues.
My wife and I had a wonderful time during our stay in Almond N.C.. The home was well maintained and was nestled in a private wooded area. We hope to return in the near future.
Wonderful experience. The view from the deck is beautiful. This quaint house is situated perfectly between Robbinsville and Bryson City/Cherokee. Plenty of beautiful scenery while hiking, white water rafting or ziplineing. Great time overall. I highly recommend.
This place is amazing as is Michelle, everything was clean and the house is so perfect for family and friends. Close to the action in Bryson city and Cherokee but secluded enough to have your privacy. Will definitely visit this property again!
Original house was inaccessible due to ice and snow. Called owner. She was FANTASTIC. Luckily she had 2 other properties right up the way. We stayed in one the entire vaycay. Enjoyed the scenery, solitude and hospitality she afforded us.
This is a wonderful vacation property for those who want to enjoy some quiet time and get away from hustle and bustle. The only challenge of any sort is that this community is serviced by what appears to be old but maintained logging roads, but no issues were encountered either coming or going. The area itself is extremely quiet and is a few miles from the nearest store (Dollar General and a BP convenience store.) The Ingles supermarket is 8 miles away in Bryson City. The house itself has plenty of nooks and crannies, plus there's individual spaces (the living room, loft, and library) that have their own unique character. The home was clean and well appointed with linens, towels, paper products, and hand/dish soap provided. The cookware provided is very good and all appliances functioned properly. Simply a great little place to stay and get away from it all!!!
Overall great little cottage. Constructive criticism only, we had a great stay. Overall was pretty clean, realized after only a few minutes that the floor was a little dirty. White socks turned brown, no biggie. Communication let me down. If you are looking for a smallish cottage with a really neat layout, than this is a great spot for you. Isolated location is great for spending time in the outdoor space. Once again overall had a wonderful experience at the hoot 🦉.

Nice remote cabin close to Bryson City.
Remote location in a hillside. Be prepared for off roading if you are on a motorcycle. The quietness is worth the trek in. Cabin was fully stocked with essential needs. Place was tidy but needed deep cleaning.
Friends for 50+ years absolutely enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing time at the Hoot Owl. Even a full day of rain was no bother since the loft area with awesome views was such a comfortable space and our go-to hangout. There isn't much "useable" yard, especially for the dogs, but there is an open space across the road for the dogs to romp and play ball. The small lake is beautiful. Unfortunately the time of year was not temperate enough to swim, but the dogs sure had a good time. Hoot Owl is a wonderful little getaway. Highly recommended!

I go by Shelby and I am a sagittarius:) Which makes me a lover of travel and adventure . I like to write, read, eat really good food in really nice or really unusual restaurants, and listen to all kinds of music (country, jazz, blues, classical, old rock) I appreciate a finely crafted cocktail and prefer 'top shelf'. My husband and I have 10 horses (mostly quarter horses) and we like to trail ride at the beach and numerous state parks. I am a fan of camping. I would like to work on the 'glamping' thing. I work full time as a realtor in NE Florida. I specialize in St. Augustine which is the oldest city in the US! My work keeps me really busy but I like it as I get to work with buyers and sellers from all different walks of life and I get to see a lot of nice homes. I like renovation projects best as I love to see an old home with good bones get new life. In early life I grew up on 40 acres in Pennsylvania. I moved to S. Florida in the 80's and now live near St. Augustine, FL.
Why they chose this property
From the moment I first walked in this chalet I was enchanted. I loved the stone fireplace, the two story great room, the upstairs loft with floor to ceiling windows and the unique bridge connecting the two lofts. I found this place to be so peaceful and I had to make it mine and I also wanted to share it with others. I also loved the community lake which I knew would be perfect for swimming and fishing.
What makes this property unique
Super close to NOC, Lake Fontana, Smokey Mountain Railroad. Plenty of room to park 3 vehicles. Really quiet and peaceful setting but so close to so many wonderful things to do!
