Also nearby is the awe-inspiring road to the King Valley wineries-within half an hour you are at Powers Lookout which really is a sight to behold from the Ned Kelly era. There is also a short nature walk at the site of the lookout which guides you around boulders through well-maintained paths.

...sip a wine or two and enjoy a platter on the deck overlooking the ever-changing landscape of the Mansfield Valley, surrounded by beautiful established gardens and watching the kids play in their own private garden complete with climbing rope and tyre swing.

...or enjoy a well-deserved holiday beer whilst listening to your favourite music via the Bluetooth dock, watching kangaroos and experiencing the best sunsets ever, followed by an awesome star-filled sky!

...take a beautifully scenic walk down to the cascades of the Broken River at the bottom of the property, hand-feed our pet alpacas and miniature goats whilst spotting native animals.

...or just simply snuggle up on the comfy couches in front of the cosy fireplace and be mesmerised by the magic of the flames.

Above and Beyond
The family and I had a fantastic time. even on the days that the weather didn't play ball, we had a cozy time with the fireplace while playing board games and watching the lovely scenery. Vicky and Ed were so obliging, giving us an in-depth tour with the friendly animals. My daughters loved the goats and Alpacas, which we pretended were Lamas. I can't wait for our return visit later in the year. Five Stars!!!

My wife and I decided to spend our 10 year anniversary staying at the Stone Creek Cottage and it was an amazing experience. Both Vickie and Ed are amazing people and such hospitable hosts. The cottage was so lovely and had everything you needed with Vickie still checking in on us to make sure. As well as giving us plenty of recommendations of things to do and see in this lovely part of the world. Scenic views, cozy cottage with two amazing fire places during the cold weather and plenty of animal friends. The location is 15-20 minutes from town and is easily accessible. Cannot recommend this place enough. Thank you Vickie and Ed for making it such a lovely experience! -Ned and Nada

A beautiful cottage in a lovely spot
This is a beautiful and very clean stone cottage in an absolutely stunning location. There were 3 of us, using 2 bedrooms, and we were very comfortable. It had all the facilities we could want, including a nice wood heater (which we used because we had a couple of chilly nights). Highlights were: * Big range of outdoor seating locations and options * Very clean, new BBQ * Stunning views * Beautiful gardens * Watching baby goat antics from the balcony Vickie and Ed were very welcoming and friendly hosts, and have done a great job in turning this into a wonderful place to spend a few days. If you want to be within walking distance of cafes and shops then this is not for you, but if you'd love to get away and enjoy some comfortable peace and quiet while being blown away by high country views we can absolutely recommend Stone Creek Cottage at View to a Hill.

Unique farm stay
We had a fantastic time here and arrived a few days after several baby goats had been born. We were able to hold them, feed them and watch them from our accommodation. The hosts were very generous with their time and so helpful. The property is unique and only 20 mins from Mansfield. Cottage was very cosy and comfortable.

Perfect winter getaway
We really enjoyed our stay at Vickie & Ed's cottage. The view was spectacular and the home was well equipped for our family of 4. Our daughter's loved exploring the property and helping Ed to feed the pygmy goats. A short drive into town or a great base for skiing Mt Buller like us. The cottage fire place was perfect for those chilly nights. Thanks for a wonderful winter getaway!

A wonderful experience!
Our stay at Stone Creek was outstanding! Vickie and Ed were so welcoming, warm and accommodating. The property is stunning and the cottage is warm, comfortable and cozy. Our little girl and her little friend were delighted in the surrounds and to be able to play with and feed the goats. We skied at Mt Buller during our stay. The drive was an easy 20-25 mins tot he Mt Buller gate. I would highly recommend staying here for any summer or winter getaway with family and friends. We were made to feel so welcome and are so grateful to Vickie and Ed.

When we lived together in London in the late 1990s my now husband Ed & I had a shared dream of running our own accommodation in Australia. We moved here in 2003, bought our property a year later & after years of dedicated building & landscaping and lots of hard work, it has taken us until 2017 to realise that dream but we are now open for business & loving it!

What we have created in Barwite is more than we could ever have imagined to be possible & we are looking forward to this next chapter in our lives along with our two beautiful children.

We are very proud of what we have achieved & are happy now it is all established. We are very much looking forward to hosting you and sharing our dream property with you.

Why they chose this property

We chose to set up our accommodation in Barwite, Mansfield because of it's location to year-round opportunities for guests to enjoy the variety of seasons and all they have to offer - whether it is skiing on the mountain (only 25 min drive to Mt Buller), swimming or fishing in the lakes and rivers, cycling the area or visiting the local attractions such as the maze, the zoo and the awe-inspiring lookouts, there is something for everyone. As well as the wineries, breweries, cafes and restaurants.

What makes this property unique

Everything you see on the property has been built, placed or grown by us. It has taken a long time to establish, but we feel we are at a point now where we can enjoy what we have created and now are able to share the property with others for a special holiday experience.
