Old world charm
As the name suggests The Forge is very much an old building and many of its furnishings and accessories are also old... like the classic 1950s or so Kelvinator fridge. We loved this old world charm, but found it comfortable enough to live in. Location was excellent, and it was very quiet. Overall highly recommended,

Amazing oldy world with all the modern essentials
I really loved staying here in the little old house. Reminded me of my grandma’s cute house and all the pictures and items from days gone by right down to the dinner set and kelvinator refrigerator. Everything in working order and all the comforts we needed with the updated bathroom. Comfortable bed too.

Staying at the Forge
We had a wonderful stay at the Forge accommodation in Kingscote. This gorgeously quirky house had everything we needed plus the best shower! A lovely verandah for an evening glass of wine and a garden where we had an abundance of delicious tomatoes and ripe figs. The Forge is easy walking distance to the town centre. We’d definitely stay again.

A lovely, cosy comfortable cottage. Well appointed with everything we needed. Nice garden, enjoyed the wood fire in the kitchen area. Happy to walk to shops and waterfront as handy to same, though we had a rental car for sightseeing trips. A very happy holiday.

A lovely place to stay
This was a lovely place to stay for 5 nights, with period character inside and a garden patio with barbecue for the evenings. It's clean, comfortable and 5-10 minutes walk from the main strip and the beach in Kingscote. I guess it could be stuffy in a heatwave (no air con) but, for us, the evening sea breeze cooled the place nicely.. We would go back.

Good location, clean place
Worked well for our needs, lack of an easy stove was only drawback. It has a wood stove but I did not want to hassel with it. Clean, easy walk to town

Historic cottage and very comfortable
More than a bed to sleep in, this cottage has charm, convenience and a great base for several nights in Kingscote. The owner has provided access to a large vegetable garden which was much appreciated. The extra bird life was a bonus.

The Forge Kingscote
Small, quaint, clean and nice. Great outdoor dining if weather is good. We always cooked on the outside barbecue. Note that there is no indoor electric oven/stove…only an old fashioned but authentic wood burning stove. Loved the stay….

Nice but
House was fine but “kitchenette” to me includes hot plates Plenty of pots and kitchen equipment but you cook on a bbq which was rusted and dirty or you have to light a wood stove inside ?A double portable induction cooktop is cheap and could even be used undercover outside.Fridge looks old/funky but turned it off at night it was so noisy.Bed ,bathroom ,lounge ,outdoor area ,parking all great.Minor point that property is not marked in correct location on stayz map
