Disappointingly dirty home
I’m disappointed to have to write this review. I would have much preferred to have had a wonderful stay and given the home 5 stars. Unfortunately the home was not cleaned to any quality standard and a foul smell of bad, musky incense permeated the home and all the furniture. I complained immediately to the property manager, Geoff, who apologized and said he would send back the cleaners. While Geoff may have been trying to get the cleaners to return, it took three days for them to actually return to the home to re-clean. In the meantime, the bad smell was overwhelming and the dirt and the layers of dust, crumbs and food stuff left over from previous stays was revolting. Even after the cleaners returned, they still did not tend to the layers of dust left under the couches, main bed and other furniture including the used tissue underneath the bedside table despite me telling Geoff it was there. (COVID!)I even sent pictures of all of this through to Geoff so he was aware of it specifically. If you appreciate cleanliness, a dust-free property, and a fresh-smelling, disinfected home, then this is not the place for you. You are much better booking off through Magenta hotel directly which we have done previously and had no issues. Unfortunately due to other holiday plans having to be canceled this was all that was left and it was a last resort, I would recommend booking only if it is a last resort for you. At this premium price point I do have a basic expectation of cleanliness that was simply not provided. I requested a 20% discount on our first three nights due to how dirty the home was. This request has been repeatedly ignored. I have also reported the situation to Stayz. In terms of what is provided by the owners, the kitchen does have everything you need. There are no clocks or bins in any bedrooms and the furniture is quite old and outdated. The main bed is basic and quite firm. Don’t expect plush pillow top. The hot tub was the home’s only perk.
