Family time
The hosts were very hospitable and when there was any issues they were immediately onto fixing things. The main beds were very comfortable and the air conditioning efficient even on a very hot weekend. The retreat room is best as a room for just that, if being used for sleeping it’s good to understand that it comes off another bedroom (no independent access), & of course a sofa bed not a regular mattress. However the cottage is well equiped and in a good location.& very comfortable

Never to be forgotten
Everything about our stay was perfect. From its quiet location to its breakfast provisions, from its period decor to its all mod cons, it could not be faulted. A stay in this accommodation is worth a trip to the Riverland in itself.

History and accommodation in one!
The cottage was a tidy and comfortable stay with the hosts providing many little unexpected extras. Most fascinating is the history on display in the cottage and the way the hosts have used this history throughout the cottage. I'd recommend a stay!

10/10 for this cottage
We loved our stay at the cottage, we didn’t want for anything. It was just a short drive to Barmera. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle to spend some quiet time this is the place to go. We will certainly be back at a later date.

Work trip in the Riverland
Crossfield Cottage for us was ideal! We really enjoyed the outdoor living spaces and having breakfast provided was a real bonus. We were 3 unrelated adults visiting for work at Berri Wine Estates, just 7km down the road. I highly recommend and can see myself visiting again soon with family

Lovely furnishings, beautiful garden. Delightful sitting out on the front porch on a winter day. Really appreciated the fire when we arrived and the breakfast. Can recommend a sunset walk around nearby Lake Bonney.

Peaceful pastoral
Enjoyed a fabulous Christmas break at Crossfield Cottage. The house is gorgeous and appointed with plenty of modern comforts, as well as an array of intriguing artefacts in honour of its history. Best bathtubs ever! Carolyn is an excellent host, very patient and prompt to reply to my many questions. Highly recommended place to stay in the beautiful Riverland.

Awesome place with gorgeous amenities and style . Beautifully comfortable . Wine ,cheese and breakfast supplies tasty . I would love to go with my husband away from work ….perhaps some romance . Thankyou

Charming and peaceful
The house can be split into bedrooms, so if you are a couple, and don’t need additional bedrooms, then this may work for you. Functional kitchen, outside modern laundry, beautifully appointed en suite bathroom in the main bedroom, and comfortable lounge with open fire if you need it. Very private back entertaining area with bbq and outside bath, although sadly, it was a little cold for us to enjoy. Seamless check in with good communication from owner. Lovely and quiet, peaceful, beautiful gardens you can wander through, or sit on the front verandah with a glass of local wine and watch the birds and bees. You will need transport, Barmera is very close by with the beautiful Lake Bonney, drive to Berri and Renmark and visit the local wineries. In all, just the place to chill out and relax in a beautiful region…

Beautiful, cosy, charming cottage
From the first moment I drove up onto the property & walked through the front door I instantly fell in love with this charming, quirky, cosy cottage. Mark & Carolyn have successfully been able give the cottage a feeling of old world charm whilst still providing modern conveniences. The garden offers many places to sit & admire it's beauty, listen to birds chirping & watch butterflies flutter by. Mark & Carolyn go above & beyond & exceed all expectations to make sure guests feel comfortable & all their needs are taken care of during their stay. The location is a stepping stone for nearby riverland towns & locations & Carolyn's passion for the region is evident in her knowledge & promotion of local attractions. If you are wanting a break to relax, sample fresh produce, sip on locally made wine or kiyak down the Murray River & see some local wildlife or just simply a place to reconnect with family or friends then I highly recommend Crossfield Cottage. You won't be disappointed!

Cute little family getaway
The cottage is located on a nice quiet street which is easy to find. It has been well looked after and the renovations are stunning which still match the cottages character. It was prefect for my partner child and I, as well as another couple and their child for a few nights away over New Years. The drive way is huge which was definitely needed for a ski boat and two large utes. The kids loved the cottage they were playing outside on the grass, they loved the outside bath and the gardens. For us adults we were blown away with how good the cottage looks and the amount of antiques on display, the pictures don’t do it justice online!! We will definitely be back for a kid free weekend so we can explore some local wineries and restaurants. The gourmet breakfast is enough to feed an army, we actually bought too much food to feed two families for breakfast which was a nice surprise as other B&Bs don’t usually supply that much. Carolyn and mark were easy to deal with as well, and my son is still talking about how much fun he had it’s adorable.
