About this property

Sugar Top condominiums are known far and wide for their incredible views, great amenities and the iconic building itself. Perched on top of the mountain, this unique property features gated security, a parking shuttle, an heated indoor pool, jacuzzi, whirlpool, steam sauna and fitness room. The master bedroom in this 9th floor unit has a queen sized bed, as does the second bedroom. The living room has a sleeper sofa rounding out the sleeping arrangements for up to 6. There is a full size washer and dryer and a fully stocked kitchen. Kitchen has pots and pans, dishes and silverware, small appliances. NO coffee is provided, but we are now stocking units with salt and pepper, and cooking oil.
The units only have a 38 gallon water heater , due to space limitations.
This only permits a 3-5 minute shower before the heater needs to recycle and reheat.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: the property needs updating, the furniture is old and outdated. The kitchen also needs updating, cheap silverware, no crockpot, no pizza cutter, overall needs a few hundred dollars invested.the TV in the bedroom only had 4 channels, blinds were damaged - but for sleeping while skiing did the job.the pool and property are pristine and beautiful

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This condo was tastefully decorated. Everything was in excellent condition, as if were not a rental unit. Beds were comfy, appliances fairly new. The view from the 9th floor is perfect, it looks towards Grandfather Mtn. and Linville Ridge, you get to see why they are called the Blue Ridge Mtns. The most impressive thing about this unit is the cleanliness. This is an almost 40 year old property and is as clean as any place (not just rental units)I have ever been, bar none. The fireworks were unbelievabke from this unit.

Great time, great place

The condo had a very comfortable bed. While talking with random people I met on the ski lifts, not all the rentals in the area have such comfy beds.

Nice view

The view was amazing, the property was very clean, they could use more spoons there were only 5 of them, it’s a small nuisance, but we were constantly washing them, the cleaning crew forgot to leave paper towels. Parking was a pain, had to wait for shuttle bus to take you back and forth to your car. And even though you are on top of the Mountain it is not ski in ski out. Otherwise a great location.

Fun mountain stay

This was a nice condo in a resort with a balcony overlooking the mountains. The resort had a nice pool and jacuzzi. Staff were friendly and helpful. I recommend staying here!

Ski Weekend

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were thankful that we found a place to stay in such sort notice but we all agreed we wouldn’t want to stay in this condo more than 2 nights. The beds were very comfortable so we were happy about sleeping well. Lots of updates are REALLY needed. The carpet is very stained and there is mold on the inside of the wall and carpet by the sliding glass door. This is the first time I’ve rented a place that at least didn’t have 1 extra roll of toilet paper (the ones that were there were almost gone). I did bring 1 extra roll but didn’t think we’d run out in both bathrooms. And there wasn’t even 1 paper towel roll. They only provided sheets for the pullout mattress so our kids slept with only a sheet. We didn’t know there wasn’t going to be a comforter available.

What I expected

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The rental was exactly what I expected for the price. I would recommend better towels and maybe an extra couple of rolls of TP or paper towels and more than one extra trash bag. In the morning during high demand shower time my wife had to take a cold shower. Overall, the place could have been cleaner due to long black hair in both bathrooms and the carpet needed to be vacuumed. I would stay there again, but I would bring my own bath towels and necessities.

Great place for a family vacation

First time staying at the sugar top resort and it was a great experience check in was easy and manager were very nice and helpful the place was clean and felt like I was right at home best part the view was awesome I totally recommend.

Perfect!

Our stay was perfect. The building is amazing, you are literally staying on top of a mountain. We went to Grandfather Mountain and of course took pictures. The hotel is in the background. VERY COOL. The only bad thing I can say is the pillows need to be changed as they were flat and uncomfortable. Easy fix! Great place to stay!!
