House with fantastic view of harbour near beaches, walks, golf and tennis clubs.


3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
House situated at the top of Bay View Rd.
Magnificent views and friendly community. Open plan with kitchen, lounge, bathroom/ shower and 2 bedrooms on the ground floor (Queen and 2 singles). Another large bedroom upstairs with a Queen bed and a queen day bed in the sunny window with 270 degree views of Lyttelton Harbour. Great spot to watch yacht races in the Harbour or the coming and going of boats. Binoculars provided.
Small 2nd bathroom upstairs with toilet and shower. Verandah out front and sheltered patio with table and chairs on the East side.
Please leave outside chair cushions and 2 beanbags for deck inside when you leave.
Small BBQ in garage. Please use outside and clean when you finish cooking.
Short drive (or walk) to Orton Bradley Park with golf course and tennis courts and Diamond Harbour. Swimming at Paradise Beach at the bottom of the hill. Lovely walk from Church Bay to Diamond Harbour around the Coast track, or Church Bay to Hays Bay or up Mt Herbert.
Catch the Diamond Harbour ferry over to Lyttelton and take in the Saturday markets.
Linen provided and leave the house clean as you found it.
No wi fi available as it is a bach. Good 4G reception.

Beautiful location

Had a great family time, unfortunately we picked a really cold spell of weather but once the house was warmed with the log burner we were cosy as. Close to the bay, amazing scenery, not too far to Christchurch for entertainment. Thank you

Stunning location and relaxing stay

Large and very comfortable property with nice communal spaces inside and out. Views from the garden were delightful. We enjoyed our 3 night stay here very much.

Warm and cozy with spectacular harbour views.

We had a wonderful time staying here. We found the house to be spacious, warm and comfortable and the harbour views are fantastic. The location is great, with Chrstchurch, Akaroa and Port Levy all reachable by car in an hour or less and five minutes drive to the diamond harbour ferry for a ten minute trip over to Lyttelton.

Fantastic view

We enjoyed our stay very much. The neighbourhood was beautiful and quiet. The house had fantastic views at day and night. We really enjoyed it. Ali was really nice to provide enough information and reply all our messages very quickly. The pasta and tomato cans in the pantry saved us a trip to the not so close super market on our arrival. I think if fly screens are installed for doors and windows, hot summer days will be more enjoyable. Overall, we were pleased with our stay.

Comfy stay. Great views. No wifi.

The property was spacious and pretty tidy. There were plenty of amenities supplied (cutlery, washing machine, etc). and the views were pretty great. Good tv and binoculars supplied. Main downside of the stay was the lack of wifi. Also worth noting was how we unexpectedly found an extra tiny makeshift room connected to the side of the upstairs bedroom. It’s occasionally used by the the hosts and because it isn’t shown or listed in the listing, it was a bit unsettling to initially find. Last note: the downstairs bathroom is awkwardly accessible by two doors and the upstairs ensuite bathroom has no door (visible in photos).

Haven above Charteris Bay

Upon our arrival, we were pleasantly surprised by the property. It offered a private location, excellent views, and spacious accommodations that provided ultimate comfort and relaxation. It felt like coming home after many years of living in the city centre.We enjoyed lovely swims in the bay and took the local ferry to the Lyttelton Market. Now, we are already planning to return in the near future to enjoy another wonderful holiday stay.

Home away from home

I brought lots of supplies as over Xmas and remote location, but I didn't need to as this bach is as well stocked as my home. This, along with comfy beds, plenty of space and the shaded decks made as feel at home right away.The views are stupendous and it was super relaxing to just sit and gaze into the distance.

Peaceful haven

Just the perfect place for us. The view is magnificent and ever changing with tides and ship movements. So close to the shops and coastal path. We will recommend to our friends.

Fantastic views

The home offers such a lovely view out over the harbour, Quail Island and over to Lyttelton. Nice and quiet, lots of firewood, clean and tidy. It was great being able to bring the dog. Thanks for a lovely stay, I'd definitely come again.

Gorgeous view

We stayed a week in July. The house is spacious and really comfortable. its a remote location so definitely need car, but worth the trip with through the beautiful scenery .the batch is equipped with most of the things what you possibly need. Landlords was lovely and easy to communicate with. We run out of firewood halftime of our stay and Ali and her husband brought some at the next morning. Thank you again. we would love to return sometimes at summertime.

Spacious property with lovely views

The views really make this property. A few minutes drive to the ferry to Lyttleton but quite a long drive from Christchurch city. Lots of space and a nice log burner for heating.

View, comfort, relaxation

Our family of 3 generations had a fantastic, low-key getaway at this property. The superb views (and no wifi) made the stay very relaxing. There was plenty of room for us to spread out or be together inside, but the deck was also a favourite hang out spot for meals and card games. The beds are very comfortable and the kitchen is well appointed for prepping family meals. The hosts were very responsive. We’d love to stay again!

A holiday home to absolutely recommend
