Oceanfront Lanikai Home with Access to Secluded White Sand Beach

Hale Melia - This four bedroom, four bathroom home is ideal for families. It features high vaulted ceilings, a large open living space, plenty of dining areas, a perfectly manicured yard, and access to a gorgeous white sand beach just yards away.

The gourmet kitchen is fully appointed and has all brand new stainless steel appliances including a wine fridge and double oven. Two large islands with 8 counter stools allow for prepping and enjoying each others company while cooking. A delightful feature in the kitchen is a Dutch door leading out to an herb garden within close reach, as well as a koi fish pond.

The indoor dining room has a large plantation style table that seats 8. The open, spacious living room includes a pool table, daybed lounge , 65" screen tv, dvd, and portable sound system.

Upstairs, the large master bedroom with lanai boasts the perfect view of the famous Mokulua islands. This room has a king size bed, tv, and chaise lounge for reading or just taking in the spectacular view. The master bathroom has a jetted tub, shower, double sinks, and several skylights, along with gorgeous stained glass accents opening into the bedroom.

Also upstairs, the 2nd bedroom is located in the loft area and has a king size bed and built in king size pullout. The attached full bathroom has a unique claw-foot tub adjacent to the open shower. Attractive French doors open to a small lanai with an ocean view.

Downstairs the 3rd bedroom with king bed and tv has a full bathroom and sliding doors opening to the back yard.

The 4th bedroom has a twin over full bunk with a pull out trundle which can sleep up to 4. This room has a built in desk and an attached full bathroom with shower.

The expansive back yard faces the Mokulua Islands. The covered outdoor living area has a dining table for 8, a BBQ, outdoor sink, water filter, fridge, cabinets, a hot shower and unique stonework. Luscious native plants, palms and bamboo trees surround the home.

The double garage is equipped with a washer and dryer.

The home has fans throughout and with the windows open offers a nice gentle breeze to keep the indoors cool. Wifi and cable are also included.

Lanikai is a highly sought after subdivision of Kailua. Famous for it's calm, tranquil water, Lanikai beach is great for playing in the ocean and not having to worry about waves or rough water. Right below the house is a perfect little white sand beach accessed only by the 5 homes on the property and by boat. Popular ocean activities are windsurfing, kite boarding, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, snorkeling. Just a short drive away in Kailua there are many shops, boutiques, day spas, and art galleries, along with plenty of great restaurants.

Great rental in Kailua

Our extended family of 12 had a super time at this rental home. Great location with an amazing view. It was a little tight but we made it work. Cool having the small semi private beach to use everyday. Owner was very responsive and helped us arrange quite a few things - which really appreciated! Only thing I would do differently is maybe only rent kayaks once you arrive in town and understand the weather. Kailua gets windy weather all year with some showers. I think we really only used the kayaks and paddle boards 2-3 times (but rented them for the entire week). Couple suggestions: Dishwasher and washing machine both need to be replaced and all the ceiling lights need to be checked. If you stay, definitely do the pillbox hike as a group!

thanksgiving in Hawaii

Great location! Gina was great & responded when we needed something. A few things that could have been upgraded--coffee maker, coffee grinder, dishwasher, burned out light bulbs. The fans helped, but no air-conditioning made it a little warm inside. But overall, it was a great ocean property.

Magical Location

We had an incredible week at this property. It is such a great space for larger groups and gatherings. We booked this house for our family which included 3 couples and 2 teenage boys. Everyone was able to have their own space/bathroom and the house was perfect for relaxing and catching up with everyone. There are so many little sittings areas and places to read, relax or nap. We hired a chef for one night and it was FANTASTIC. Highly recommend doing that (we hired Course Hawaii, Andrew Stone is the Chef). The pool table was a great gathering spot most evenings. The most magnificent detail is the actual location and views from this house. It really is an unbelievable location right on the water with the Mokulua Islands greeting you every day! It is a place where you could just hang out, take in the views and not really have to go anywhere. However, there is plenty to do and the access to the beach and water is amazing. Our teenagers fished from the front of the house everyday, kayaked and biked to town to get shave ice. You can walk/bike from the house to the Pillbox hike. It really is a perfect location for everyone. The house is in a gated community and totally private. There is a private beach just steps away from the house and so convenient. We definitely would recommend staying here and look forward to coming back. Gina, the property manager, was super easy to work with and made sure we had everything we needed. My only complaint is that the house could use some TLC, a really good deep clean, a thorough walk thru to replace items that are broken or need attention (light switches, dishwasher needs maintenance, etc) and some updated kitchenware. We cooked a lot and made it work, but some of the pans are scratched up with teflon coming off and should to be replaced. For $3,000+/night we expected this stuff to be in better shape (luxury rental = luxury amenities). But, don't let this keep you from booking, the pros totally outweigh the cons.

Location is amazing!!!

Wow, Hale Melia is such a find! You absolutely cannot beat this location, right on the water of arguably the most beautiful stretch of coastline anywhere. We never tired of the beautiful grassy area that overlooks the water, or of the cool breeze that kept the house comfortable. We were two families (8 people in all) and the house comfortably housed us all (although important to note that one of the bedrooms is a loft situation). Gina was so helpful and arranged for bikes (which we used to head into town) and kayaks (which we used to paddle out to the Mokuluas). We would absolutely come back and stay here again, it is a fabulous property!

We loved it!

The nine adults and three children were very comfortable in this beautiful home that was well equipped. I can’t even say enough about the private beach! We have been staying at beach houses in Hale’iwa for years and this house was our favorite largely because the yard was well-kept and large enough for the children to play in with sitting areas in close proximity for the adults to watch them. The water and the sand were crystal clean and safe. We enjoyed fish that we caught. Gina is a gem - She responds quickly and she was anxious to make sure that we were happy. The kids, in fact, were begging to stay! As much as we love Haleiwa, everyone voted to return to Hale Melia again.

Ideal location and spacious open concept house perfect for our Thanksgiving family holiday vacation.

We loved this house as a beachfront Thanksgiving get away for our family of 11. The house had everything we needed......and more. We enjoyed eating outside in the evenings under the Lanai with the waves crashing just yards away. The open concept of the house was perfect with plenty of space for all. The pool table was also a hit with the family. The kitchen was very function and had everything we needed for our Thanksgiving feast. The grass outside of the back patio was ideal for the little ones to play. Access to the almost private beach is just a short walk, and the soft white sand and the turquoise water looking across to the Mōkūlua islands was spectacular. The view from the master bedroom is amazing and relaxing to sit on the balcony enjoying the sunrise in the mornings. The gated entrance was nice which makes the location even more private and safe. Gina was a wonderful and accommodating host with very quick and responsive communication. Everything was smooth from booking, to check in and checkout. It was the perfect family vacation spot!!!

Slice of Heaven

My family spent spring break at this magical property. My father's health is not that well so all the kids and grandchildren decided to make memories with him while we can. So glad we found this property!! Can't describe the magical energy this property has. It truly lifted my fathers spirits and health. Favorite part was our morning coffee sessions on the lawn watching the sun come up. We would spend hours in the morning sitting out there listening to the waves, soaking in the sun, and enjoying the privacy and scenery. House was comfortable and spacious. Gina, the owner, recommended Chef Stone. We hired him for a couple nights, he was amazing. To be able to sit on this property while a Chef cooks and cleans just added to the whole experiance. We didn't want to leave. This is going to be our yearly spring break trip every year, no reason to go anywhere else. The ground keeper/maintenance was so friendly and geniune. I could go on and on but its a property that you have to experiance for yourself to feel the magic. Thank you for opening your property and allowing others to enjoy!

Paradise found

The setting is perfect. 8 of us stayed comfortably in the house. We had daily pool tournaments. We hired a masseuse for massages onsite. We also had a yoga instructor give 3 classes in the backyard with this view. The location is behind a gate. So if you are a privacy junkie, this is the ideal place. There is no a/c, but this location is breezy so that wasn't noticeable. It's close to Kailua for shopping and restaurants.

If heaven had a zip code, this would be it.

The beauty and serenity of this magnificent home and location are difficult to adequately describe. The home itself is tastefully decorated. Our family loved daily tournaments at the pool table. The view from the backyard is one of the most beautiful views I’ve ever seen. The pictures on the website don’t do it justice. Gina was a thoughtful, gracious, and attentive host. I feel as if I’ve made a new friend. Gina arranged for kayaks and snorkel equipment to be delivered right to our home. Additionally, she gave us the name of Chef Ed Kuoha, who created a delicious and memorable post-wedding meal for us in the comfort of our home. Through Gina’s referral, we also enjoyed a couples massage in the covered lanai in the backyard, while trade winds softly blew and the sound of waves added to the perfection of the experience. My time spent at this Lanikai treasure was a dream come true. I confidently give Gina and this oceanfront dream home my highest compliments.

Wonderful home and Location

Our stay here was amazing; we stayed at the home for a week with 10 in our group and there was plenty of space that we did not feel cramped together. The ocean views are amazing; the backyard is private and has plenty of room for kids to run around and play. The private beach is only a 30 second walk from the property and the kids had a blast there. Not a single person in our group wanted to leave this amazing home or location. Gina is absolutely wonderful to book with and made sure every aspect of our stay was perfect. Thank you so much for sharing this paradise with us, we look forward to coming back and staying again!

Gorgeous home and location

We spent a week here in March/April 2018. The house lived up to all our expectations and we had a wonderful time. Gina went out of her way to make sure our stay was comfortable and we had everything we needed. The only downside is we were only able to be at the house for a week.

Unforgettable Experience

I've lived on Oahu all of my life and have "staycationed" at properties all over the island, but none come close to Hale Melia. Simply put, access to a property like this, at the end of the most gorgeous secluded beachfront stretch, with unobstructed, front-row views of the Mokuluas, is a rare treat. My family (two kids, ages 10 and 8) spent a whole week in bliss here and everything from check in to check out was perfect. The home has every feature a family could possibly want - the large living room with a pool table and huge TV allowed ample space for us to relax and unwind together, a well thought out kitchen made every meal easy and enjoyable to prepare and consume, the master bedroom with stained glass feature was by far the most lovely place we have ever laid our heads (falling asleep to the sounds of waves crashing right outside and waking up to the turquoise sea and palm trees swaying was just pure magic), the well-manicured yard with outdoor shower right off the beach called us to step outside and enjoy the fresh air and tropical breezes, and the gate outside allowed us a worry free stay feeling that our privacy and safety were well-secured. Even the little things were amazing - from the perfectly ergonomic yet stylish looking lounge chairs, to the most comfy pillows - the attention to detail was immaculate and show the owners' care in making sure every need/ want is attended to. My favorite detail was the Malie bath products which are in every bathroom of the house. I have been a fan of Malie's organic, top of the line bath products for a while now and I cannot tell you how happy it made me to fill the claw-foot tub with Malie bath soap and have the intoxicating fragrance fill the entire house or to simply wash my hair. The mundane task of getting clean every day became something I looked forward to all day long. When we needed a change of pace from swinging in a hammock under a grove of coconut trees or swimming with the fish off our private beach, we headed into Kailua town, only a short car ride away and easily one of the most charming spots on Oahu with everything from Whole Foods market, to Target, to beach boutiques, to restaurant options galore. I could not have imagined a more perfect staycation spot for my family. We did not want to leave. If you're looking for a truly unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience on Oahu, look no further. Locals and visitors alike will not be disappointed.

Absolutely amazing!

We were absolutely delighted in this property; from the beautiful decor, to the outstanding views. The house was large enough for our two families to coexist comfortably for ten days together, complete with all the necessary amenities. The beds were comfortable, the living areas spacious and relaxing, the outdoor areas cool and refreshing. Close to the shops, restaurants, walking trails, along with access to your own private beach! Along with a personal visit from the manager to make sure we were satisfied or needed anything. Incredible!! Gorgeous Property!!

It doesn’t get better than this! Our family spent a week at this beautiful home and could not have been happier. Best family vacation!!!!

I could not have asked for a better vacation home to celebrate the holidays with my family. Walking into a house that was beautifully kept and came fully decorated with a Christmas tree really set the tone for our entire stay. The attention to detail throughout definitely did not go unnoticed. The owners were extremely helpful in navigating daily activities for us such as kayaking, bike rentals, etc. My kids especially loved them bringing their adorable dogs over to play. Pictures do not do this property justice. What an amazing view to wake up to everyday. We all felt truly blessed for such an incredible experience. The whole process was seamless and we can’t thank them enough for being so hospitable.

It was a gorgeous property that was spacious!

This property was amazing! It was clean, and the owners are on property so if we had questions or concerns they handled them quick and efficently. We ate most meals there and found the kitchen to be well appointed and indoor and outdoor seating to be great for meals! I would highly recommend this property with 2 caveats: 1.One guest bedroom advertised is a loft open to the house,not a private bedroom. They provide a screen which we later found out is kind of a 'Hawaiian thing.' Could be a problem if you had 4 couples as there is not really any privacy per say. 2. When we were there the private beach through the gate shown, was under water. They do however have another small private beach you can walk to. We would recommend this to friends or relatives.

Perfection in Paradise!

We could not have asked for a better place to spend time with our family. The house was spacious and well-appointed and the beach was beyond fabulous! Gina and her family were so nice and helpful. We had an amazing time and look forward to returning!
