Worst rental management experience ever

The house and location are exactly as listed. Spacious and near The village and the slopes. But when we checked-in around 5pm, the cleaning was not done. After several hours of begging the management to send someone over, we have finally asked for clean sheets and had to change them ourselves at 10pm. Management made a fool of 0ourselves with only excuses. We have tried to spent the night somewhere else butit was full, it was presidents day week-end.

A Home Away from Home

Loved our stay at Knotty Pine - Big Bear Lake Retreat! We made a last minute decision to come to CA so my dad could visit with his sister, who was ill. The condo was perfect for the 3 of us--my parents took the main bedroom/bath upstairs and I stayed in the bedroom with the adjoining bathroom on the main floor. The check in process was very easy and we loved the gift of the spices--one less thing to buy when traveling cross-country! We did run into some small issues (the dining room fan was not cleaned in some time, although I don't think anyone stayed there for months; the pool key was missing from the lock box; & the upstairs shower handle fell off) but I must commend the staff at Big Bear Vacations--all issues were addressed quickly and efficiently and we had barely any down time because of them (we did allow the cleaners and plumber to come into our unit while we were not there since we were more than an hour away). I really appreciated that the head of maintenance called my cell phone to give me updates about the shower issue & said if we ran into any additional issues with the shower, I could call him directly. The unit was as described and the perfect fit for the three of us!

Great location. Friendly staff!

So this was agreat option for a group of 6 adults. I loved that this condo offered 3 bedrooms with bigger bed sizes, rather than a bunch of bunk beds, single beds, etc. The condo was cozy, but spacious. They provided some toiletries and most of the basics that you will need for cooking. I would say that the couches need to be replaced as they are engaging and look pretty worn. The housekeeping could also be better; we had to wash all the pots/pans befire using because they were sticky or not properly cleaned. There were cobwebs ans some areas that needed attention, but nothing terrible. Overall a comfortable stay at a great location!

Nice place to stay

The property was easy to get to and the check-in was easy. It would be better if we could check-in online or from the property so we didn't have to travel to the office and then back track to the property. The home was clean, but there were cobwebs and neglected dusting that could have been kept up; the upgraded/enhanced cleaning did not live up to the advertisement. The sound between the units was a little annoying. We could hear the family next door.

The house was very clean.

When we first arrived we were very impressed with how clean the property was. The water was lukewarm so you have to turn up the water heater. Also we couldn’t find the cushions for outdoor furniture until the day before we left. They were under the downstairs bedroom bed. It would be good if notes were left by the owner so the renter would know to turn up the hot water right away and also so they could find the cushions. Also - there was no bakeware all. We could not cook a casserole or a bake a cake. And there is a pool but No key to open the gate. If there is a key in this house the owner should let the renter know where it is. Also - the cable tv doesn’t work. A guide comes up but when you try to tune to something the screen is black. All in all we had a great time and it’s a great house. Just wanted to let the owner know a few things that will make it even better.

Ok stay

The property was nice. At first glance, the place looked clean but as we started to unpack and live there, we could tell that cleaning was done quickly and sloppy. Some parts of the kitchen floor were sticky and the towels smelled musty. It would be nice if when checking in, the staff gave us an overview of areas we can walk and enjoy that are part of the property. Instead, I was told, rudely, wait for their text to have access to property. I even asked what was the general location of the property, so we could stay in immediate area and I was just told to wait for text. I took my 4 year old and he was tired of being in the car. Not a good start to our vacation.
