About this property

Endeavour Cottage is a well-designed, self-contained 2 bedroom Cottage on the grounds of our family home. And it really is just 50m to the beach. It's spacious, modern, light and airy. You have all the privacy you need in the Cottage with your own barbecue and outside seating area in a garden setting. Located in a quiet cul de sac, simply stroll over to the grassy walkway leading to the beach. Use the outdoor solar shower to rinse off the sand and the sea. You'll be able to hear the waves washing onto the shore and see the stars by night through the skylight in the romantic mezzanine king bedroom. The second bedroom is located on the ground floor and has a queen bed and 2 king single beds which can stand alone or be put together. A full kitchen provides everything you need: please note there is no oven, however a microwave, electric frypan, 2 hotplate electric hob and a 4 burner bbq have your cooking needs covered. Very suitable for both couples and families alike, there are plenty of board games, books, dvds, and toys available, as well as all the outdoor equipment you could need, spades for Hot Water Beach, complimentary kayaks (lifejackets included), bikes (helmets included) beach chairs, umbrellas, ride on toys and more! The perfect location for a safe kiwi summer holiday. There is so much to see and do on the Coromandel Peninsula that you will need at least a couple of days to enjoy what is on offer. Tired of the Beach? Then simply curl up on the sofa, choose a book or a dvd from the large selection available. Your beds will be made up for you on arrival with hotel quality linens, freshly laundered and ironed: luxury.
You can be assured that even though your Cottage is in the grounds of our family home, we give you as much privacy as you need. We have a bed and breakfast suite also available as an overflow (Endeavour Escape, not listed on this site) if you need to bring more than 6 guests or require a 3rd bedroom. Both accommodations have their own private entrances and we expect all guests to respect everyone's privacy.
We are inclusive of all cultures, genders and orientations and we look forward to welcoming you to the Beach.

Great holiday home away from home.

Great host and great place to stay. Homemade bread and jam on arrival and the location is close to all attractions and amenities.

A Cooks Beach Summer

Lovely presented with a nice welcome surprise on arrival. By far the best feature is how handy to the bach was to the beach and it was great to be able to take the kayaks out. There was plenty of space and the loft bedroom with the skylight was a cool feature. They have Chromecast so you can cast from your favourite streaming apps or go old school and watch some dvds (which was kinda fun and novel). Fans are provided for cooling which worked pretty well on the hot days. The bach is quite close to the family home but we felt like we had good privacy. Thanks for letting us share your little corner of paradise.

Cute Cozy Getaway Spot!

Amazing, cute, cozy accommodations on a beautiful property! Perfect little vacation spot with everything you need and only a short walk across the street to beautiful Cooks Beach! Hosts are very nice, kind, and accommodating! We would stay here again in a heartbeat :)

Lovely cottage next to the beach

Endeavour Cottage is a lovely little stand alone cottage that is very close to the beach. It rained the whole time we were there (record rains in Auckland and Coromandel, with many closed roads) so we ended up spending more time at the cottage than planned. It was very comfortable and we could easily walk over to the beach during the few dry periods. Joanne was a lovely host, communicating with us before our stay with several updates on the road situation. The outdoor garden and dining area (shared with the BnB room in the main house) would have been a quiet place to sit or dine if the weather had permitted. Overall a very relaxing stay. Thank you

Excellent Cooks Beach Cottage

A lovely place to stay - so close to the beach, this cottage was clean, tidy and comfortable, equipped with everything we needed to enjoy a happy family holiday. The communication from the property owners before our arrival was excellent. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and we hope to return some day.

Cool Cooks Beach Cottage

Lovely cottage just across the road from a beach and easy walk to the local shops. Jo and her husband were great hosts and made us feel welcome. Although the cottage is on their property we never felt uncomfortable as they were just so friendly and happy to help. Highly recommend 😁

Great getaway in Cooks Beach

The property was even better than it looked in the pictures. Down a quiet street with over the road access to Cooks Beach, which was golden, quiet and good for long walks. The owners left thoughtful touches. We enjoyed the use of their bikes. We were able to access Whitianga from the ferry which was fun.

Fantastic location and lovely hosts.

The personnel touches made our stay really good.

Very enjoyable stay. The property was very clean, roomy and kitted out with everything we needed for the kids and more. It was only a stones throw away from the beach. Our host was very welcoming and helpful with things to do in the area. We would definitely look to stay there again in future.

Beautifully decorated and well-appointed cabin perfect for a family beach weekend

We enjoyed the local beach and made side trips to Cathedral Cove and Hot Water Beach. The interior and outdoor areas of this guest house were bright and spacious and our hosts made us feel welcome. We’d recommend bringing your first day’s groceries with you since there’s only a convenience store in Cooks Beach, but there’s a walk-on ferry to Whitianga, where there are more options.

We had been holidaying at Cooks Beach for 16 years and finally decided in 2017 to have a change in lifestyle now that our 4 children have grown up and moved on - we moved from the capital city of Wellington looking forward to a quiet beach life and a new career in hospitality. It certainly wasn't quiet! We have been busy preparing and modernising our Cottage for guests and have been welcoming holidaymakers from all over the world for the last 4 years. Frank and I have also been tourists ourselves, going to places we had never ventured to previously as we were always just so happy to chill out at the beach. We have tried out all the restaurants and facilities so that we can make recommendations to our guests, we enjoy passing on our local knowledge and tips.
If we are not at home to greet our guests on arrival, then we are likely at the beach, fishing, road cycling or mountain biking - there's never enough time in the day. You can be assured that even though your Cottage is in the grounds of our family home, we give you as much privacy as you need.

Why they chose this property

We chose this property for it's location to the beach, rather than to the tidal lagoon or river, we love hearing the waves lapping on the shore and just wandering up the grassy walkway to a safe and secluded beach. We are just one house back from the waterfront which gives us privacy and shelter from the wind. Guests staying in our popular bed and breakfast suite enjoy a partial seaview from their deck.
