Unfortunately, this rental did not meet our expectations. Accessibility and cleanliness were major issues. The steps leading to and in the condo made it difficult for my disabled husband. I wish there was more transparency in the description and location of the condo. Cleanliness was also a concern. The condo had a very strong musty odor, dirty dishes were in the dishwasher and cabinet, mold surrounded the shower, the oven was dirty and the fireplace uncleaned. Additionally, the dryer was full of towels and bedsheets which made it feel like the previous cleaning had been rushed or incomplete. The beds had decorative comforters on them, which looked nice, but were not washable or covered with a duvet for sanitary reasons. There were also maintenance issues, such as peeling paint and holes in the wall that we certainly did not create. Overall, this property needs improved cleaning services, upkeep and better transparency in its listing. I hope these concerns are addressed so future guests have a better experience.
The location of this unit was perfect! You can access the slopes directly from the condo's parking lot. This convenience definitely made the trip.
The unit is old and shows wear-and-tear. This isn't a unit I'd re-rent with family (if I was with a group of friends in my 20s, sure!).
If the unit received some upgrades, then I would definitely return in the future.
overall it is a nice place. the upstairs bedroom is a loft, so limited privacy and no bathroom. two full bathrooms; one on the main level and one downstairs. we were there on warm days (first night a bit chilly) and the downstairs seemed damp. the kitchen was well equipped. everything from paper towels to dish soap to a sponge. its always hard to know what to bring, but for this apartment you don't need to worry...it even had garbage bags! had both coffee pot and keurig. enough pots and pans and dishes. no dining table but counter with stools. nice outdoor deck.
we didn't use the washer/dryer but i'm sure they worked well. the bunk room had two bunk beds with the larger full bed beneath.
house is 'lower level' so there is a walk from the car involving steps, fyi.
we didn't use the pool but it seemed nice. the location is very close to the water park at camelback and also kalahari.
beds and linens and pillows were comfortable and plentiful. lots of place for clothing and accessories to go.
would definitely go back, especially in winter as unit is mere yards from camelback ski hill.
Very close to slopes, but lots of stairs and a little under-equipped
We've stayed at four or five different places in the Villages at Camelback, which we like because of the ski in/out opportunities. I would say that this one had just about as good access to the slopes as we could have asked for. We were able to park about maybe 30 feet away from the entrance, which was just great.
The unit itself, though, was just okay. The biggest problem, which we didn't realize when we booked, was that it is one of the "lower" units in the complex, meaning that it is about a 2-3 story walk up and down stairs to get from the unit to the parking lot. The unit itself is very vertical, of course, since they all are, but we didn't love the added outdoor stairs in the icy weather, especially carrying all our stuff up and down. That was a real negative, and we feel it should have at least been referenced in the description (if it was and we missed it, apologies).
We also weren't thrilled with the unit itself. It's fine, very bare bones. The bedroom upstairs is open to the downstairs family room -- we've been in some units where that bedroom is closed off and there's even a bathroom up there. So this one wasn't great. And the lowest floor bedrooms have relatively low ceilings, which we don't remember from other unit stays.
Otherwise, we found it a little under-equipped compared to other places we've stayed at, in terms of cooking equipment and things like that. Again, it was fine, just a little bare bones.
We chose it over our regular places because we thought we'd take the dogs with us, and this is a rare pet-friendly unit. We ended up going without them, but we recognize that we might have to be a little more forgiving of some of the furnishings given the the owner is open to bringing pets (and isn't going to splurge on new couches and stuff). We get it.
We gave it four stars because of the access to the slopes, and the fact that the owner/manager we talked to was very nice and helpful and we don't want to be too harsh. If access to the slopes is important, and bringing the pets is important, this is probably a perfect place for you. If you're more concerned with convenience (i.e., not taking a lower-level unit) and furnishings, you might want to consider other options.
Property is clean and the owner answers your questions immediately. Easy to reach places . Nice place for family !!!

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities, communication
Great place to stay at Camelback mountain with easy access to the slopes (2 minute walk). The beds were comfortable, the place was clean, the host was very attentive.
You do need to walk a bit to get from the parking area to the house, and the hot water can run out after a couple of showers.
But I would definitely recommend the place. Great stay.
This townhouse is within a few feet of skiing at Camelback. We chose it for the location and we were not disappointed. The layout is perfect for our family of 4. The place was clean and the owner was very responsive. We will definitely stay here again next winter for skiing. Our kids really liked the bunked beds!
It was good property was great location , house looked different in pictures then person it was surfaced clean but dusty however I cleaned it and we enjoyed it stay
Couldn’t get any closer to the slopes, clean, had everything we needed. Owner communication was great- he was very quick to respond and answer any questions.
House was comfortable for 2 families to split with all the kids in their own bedroom. Owner was on top of all communication, highly recommend this place. One kid didn’t know how to ski and could still (with help) get to the base of the mountain and we came back home for lunch and bathroom breaks all day - safely avoided the lodge during covid and felt super safe!
A great rustic retreat for my family. We made a last minute decision to go on a staycation before the kids returned to school. This place did not disappoint. The owner was very responsive and seemed as excited as we were to stay at his property. Thanks Emilio, you were awesome!
Very responsive property owner. Place was very comfortable and enjoyable for a group of 11. Do you have a little bit of feedback to the property owner about cleanliness which he immediately took on board. Check in process could be made more explicit as this is a gated community and it’s necessary to check in
At the community centre before accessing the property. Once that was done, everything else was quite easy. On the whole, we had a great stay and would come again
Excellent location, property somewhat dated and musty
The condo property is very close to Camel Beach resort and Aquatopia. You can't get much closer.
The condition of the property was not the best. It wasn't horrible, but was kind of damp and had a musty smell. The owner had dehumidifiers, but even with them, it was still musty. Some of the deck furniture was broken, and in general, the furniture and building property were dated. It seemed a little better after we had been there a day or two, so either we got used to it or maybe it was musty because no one had stayed there for a little while. We have no way of knowing. Our overall opinion, though, was that for the cost, it should have been nicer.
