Great little raised cottage.

My wife and I stayed a couple nights here and were nicely impressed with the accommodations. The place was clean and ready for us when we arrived. Charles (the owner) called us as soon as we arrived apologizing for not being there to greet us (which was not needed but appreciated). He offered up some farm fresh eggs and to come by and drink coffee with us the next morning. We declined the offer, since we were in Theriot to go fishing the next two days. After our fishing trips, we were able to park the boat on grounds and do a thorough clean-up with the hose provided with the camp. Upon leaving to go home, we found an egg carton with a dozen farm fresh eggs on the doorstep. Great place for a weekend getaway, and wonderful owners. Thankyou Charles and Emma for making this trip a pleasant experience.

Bayou Cabin Review

Charles was extremely friendly, and helpful. Very knowledgeable as far as local eating spots, directions, and Louisiana history. He is like a human Google search engine. Cabin was everything we wanted. Very clean, and homey. Only discrepy was that there was “extras” (salt, pepper, laundry soap, grocery bags, etc). The closest store was 25/30 minutes away. This was not a negative impact on our stay at all, I would book with Charles at his properties 10/10 times when I come back to Louisiana.

Awesome place to stay

We had a great time staying at the Cajun Cottage. The cottage was very clean and meet all our needs. The outside area under the cottage was a great place to relax after a long day on the water fishing. Thank you Charles and Anne!! We will be back soon!!

Clean, Cozy and Close!

Couldn't have better owners. Charles greeted us upon arrival and offered to help pack luggage in during a light rain, gave us a fishing report and responded promptly when contacted. Also Mrs. Anne baked us homemade chocolate chip cookies and delivered to us during our stay! Camp was clean which is a must when staying with the wife and kids. Wiithin a mile or two of Falgout Marina which was plus as well. Thanks for delivering accomodations as advertised. We'll be staying again.

Awesome Property!

This was a wonderful place to stay. Charles and Anne were so nice and informative about the property and area. We loved walking to the canal and seeing the alligators and turtles. The house was clean and comfortable. It's location was perfect for exploring the area and they had lots of recommendations for things to do, restaurants, etc. Would definitely love to visit again!

About the host

Host profile image
Our property has been a part of our family for more than 30 years. It is the boyhood home of Charles and now the permanent home of Anne and Charles. It is such a gift to wake up to the beautiful scenery that we love to share with our guests.

Why they chose this property

The property is rare and beautiful and it is our goal to keep it in its natural state, improving things where we may for the enjoyment and comfort of our guests.

What makes this property unique

The property fronts on beautiful Bayou Dularge. It transitions to open pasture suitable for a nice game of softball or kite flying. From there woods and a secluded pond greets our guests leading then to open marshland for which South Louisiana is famous.
