Perfect for our Girls' Getaway

We absolutely adored this place and it was perfect for our girls' getaway. It was much bigger than we thought and still so cozy. It was cleaned and well maintained. Very quiet for the location being so close to so many amenities! If Grand Junction comes up as a destination for future getaways, we will be looking to stay here again!

Cottage stay

Overall we enjoyed our stay. However Our check in was weird, I got both confirmation emails and text messages that told me how to unlock the door and it didn’t work at all. Had to call and talk with the owner and she informed me she didn’t know we were checking in that night and so the lock box wasn’t properly set. There was also absolutely no dish sponge to be found which was bizarre considering all the dishes had to be washed prior to check out and there was no dishwasher. Neighborhood was quiet and really good location. Would stay again for sure.

Great find, especially for the price and if you have pets. Very comfortable, fun eclectic decor. Tucked away covered parking, which is great because of the heat. Cute little fenced in yard for the dogs.

Wonderful Palisade Cottage

We like to come to Palisade for a few days in the late summer to visit the wineries and take advantage of the peaches. The Bee's Knee's Cottage was a perfect place for our stay. It looks just like the pictures and Karen kept in close contact with us before and during our stay to ensure anything we needed was addressed. The location was perfect since we didn't have plans to be in Grand Junction. We loved the cottage and would definitely stay again when we're in the area.

Cute but...

We enjoyed the vintage collectibles. Beds were great. AC worked very well. Kitchen was good. Code did not work and after calling host had to "try" 2 different codes before lock box worked. Ran out of toilet tissue and coffee filters. Carpet was horribly stained. Pets are allowed but gees. Bushes at door were overgrown and gave us 'pause' when we came after dark.

Cute with a few blemishes

PRO: The inside of cottage was cute for the price. It was quite and we were able to visit without loud outside noises. The location was good. CONS: We would like to have used the backyard and grill but it needed some clean up including cutting the grass. A lot of the outlets do not work so there is extention cords used on the outlets that do work. The TVs in the bedrooms do turn on but you get a no signal message. When the manger was called no anwser so I text them. The reply was, " they do work and did I try all the inputs." The big con was there was only a 1/3 of a roll of toilet paper and no replacements.

Cute place with plenty of space

This place worked well for our group of three adults and a dog. Lots of space for us to hang out. We were there for a bike ride in Palisade and it was a short drive to downtown Palisade and the wineries. The neighborhood itself wasn't especially great - no restaurants within pleasant walking distance and the traffic noise was noticeable - but we felt safe there. We couldn't get the TVs in the bedrooms to work but we didn't contact anyone with property management for help so maybe we were doing something wrong. Overall if fit our purposes well.

Not as advertised

The property was nice and clean but didn't have some of the benefits advertised. Bedroom TV's didn't work, washer was broken and the shower was useable but unsafe.

Clean yes, old yes

The place is old and neglected. No working televisions in bedrooms.still (was reported on a previous review). No light at the front door. No USB charging outlets. The first bedroom had the a/c vent directly over the bed so if you turn down the air, the person in the next room is too hot. And the vents were dirty. Bedding & pillows old. Smelled old in the whole place. No GFIs in kitchen or bath. Bushes in front needed a trim..nearly poked out an eye trying to get in the door. The bedroom window latch was broken in the back bedroom so unable to lock that window. The bathroom was decent. Spacious enough and shower is larger than expected and easily accessible. I think they were going for "vintage" but it really just looked like a quick trip to the Goodwill store. I knew the price was low and you get what you pay for.

Good Accommodations for our visit to Palisade

We enjoyed our stay here. The apartment was spacious for our group of 4 (two adults, two small children, and dog). The outdoor area was a great place to unwind after days filled with peach picking and vineyard-hopping. Coffee, soap, and towels were all provided which was appreciated. Beds were comfortable and A/C worked well. The place is actually within the suburb of Clifton and is mostly mobile home communities with not a whole lot to do in the immediate vicinity. However, both Palisade and Grand Junction are both close by and within 15 minutes driving distance. Would stay again.

Super cute property, perfect for 4!

Such a cute place, tucked behind a few other houses and a little hard to navigate which house was the right but let me tell you, hands down… cutest, most excellent location, fun town, and best overall quiet and peaceful. LOVED my time there at this house! Highly recommend

Great home-base in Grand Junction!

My wife and I stayed here for 8 nights in April 2021 and really enjoyed it. We worked remotely and did extensive exploring during the afternoons. There is so much to see in the area and this was a really comfortable place to stay during our time. The internet was high-speed cable internet over wifi, and it was very fast. I had several video conferences that all happened without a hitch. I am picky about internet and had no problems our entire stay. The backyard is a great place to eat lunch or dinner if the temperature is right. It's wonderful for pets as it's enclosed. So taking the dogs out is just a matter of opening the back door -- no leash required. Extremely convenient, and really helps set this place apart. You can hear the road when out back, but it wasn't an issue while inside. The Colorado National Monument is a place we spent a lot of time in, including a hike of the floor from "Monument Canyon Trailhead". That was a really great loop. There are also several arches in the area if you have the means and will to get to them. Check out Rattlesnake Canyon and Cedar Tree Arch. The riverfront area in Grand Junction is newly developed. The Dominguez Canyon trailhead is just 20 miles South. Tons of mountain biking trails around. There really is a lot of great stuff in this area. Overall, we'd definitely stay here again and recommend it to our friends. The shower water pressure is low but it's serviceable. The positives, like fast internet, close to a grocery store, a comfortable bed, and a cold fridge far outweigh any small negatives. This unit even has a covered car-port to keep your vehicle out of the elements.

Home Away from Home

Karen made our three night stay in Grand Junction very relaxing and educational. The Bee’s Knees Cottage was clean, comfortable and funky! Karen’s 60’s inspired interior design was a creative joy with the highlight being the turntable with albums from that era to listen to and reminisce. The cottage sits on a large property that includes other guest quarters, a large fire pit under a big tree and even an area with chickens providing fresh eggs to the guests. The wife and I did day trips over to Arches National Park, Moab and Colorado Canyon Monument over the three days. Karen gave us great local knowledge as to restaurants and day trip ideas. The BEST was the drive back from Moab take state road 128 back to I-70 East. This road follows the Colorado River as it carved through all the beautiful canyons, spectacular as is so much of the scenery out there in the canyons. Thank you Karen!

Relaxing Stay

This was a comfortable, relaxing cottage behind the owner’s home. It has comfortable furnishings (couch, beds, dining table chairs) and plenty of lighting. A small fenced backyard was good for our sheltie puppy. There is a table with chairs, and a hammock, for enjoying the backyard in privacy.

Adorable cottage with most comfy beds!

We loved this cottage! The beds and rooms were super cozy, the fresh eggs from the back yard chickens were a delight and the attention to detail on the design made this a memorable getaway. Karen, the owner, was super hospitable, very helpful and quite creative to make this simple cottage feel whimsical. The cottage is located with easy access to hikes, easy nature walks, the vineyards (we took a 10 minute Lyft-ride to get to a wine tasting) and not too far from downtown restaurants. I will note that few downtown restaurants delivered to this area. We did end up driving everywhere as the neighborhood itself wasn't the most exciting or pleasant to explore but it's easy enough to get around by car or bike. The property itself is absolutely charming with an expansive shared yard that includes easy parking and a separate area for the chickens. Our dog loved being able to take a little gander to visit them. Also, our pup got an ear infection on the trip and several great vets are located a short drive away.
