We came for my husband’s celebration of life with three generations! It was the most gorgeous spot! We loved the space, the cool way each place was set up and the decor and both had everything we needed to cook and clean! The host was super helpful and responsive to my questions since we were coming from out of state!
We loved the place. The lake was so clear and we enjoyed it very much. We kayaked, swam and paddle board. It was so relaxing. The only area of improvement is cleanliness. There are bugs in the windows and some cobwebs. Overall, we all had a great time.
Cool spot on the lake. Nice dock for lounging and swimming. Water was crystal clear in this lake, have to see it to believe it! Cabins were well appointed with everything we needed. Lower cabin was more rustic, upper was more modern, both were nice!
Pictures on listing do not do this location justice. It was beautiful and spacious.
When we arrived we realized the location was much larger and more beautiful than the already promising listing had shown. Both cabins common area were large, the rooms were spacious, and the location in general had a unique feel to it. The dock was much larger than the pictures showed. The outside lighting all over the property was a pleasant surprise and illuminated the wooded mountain side at night which was beautiful.
Spending time at a house on the lake is not for the ill motivated. The commute from one cabin to another and to the lake required a small hike up and down a heavy grade. However we felt it added to the fun of the trip.
The property manager was very responsive to the few questions we had and gave us insight on things that may not look right while we were there. All in all this was a great getaway.
We booked this property to be in the area for my daughter's graduation from Syracuse. She spent a lot of down time in Skaneateles and asked for graduation to do the same with her family. The listing states that it was 17.5 miles from campus but that is not the case, it is actually 36 miles. An inconvenience for our schedule of events and it limited the time we could have with her in the area and at the house. Both houses are great in their own way. The cabin had a strong odor of cleaner or possibly air freshener. The newer house was charming and the views were just beautiful. As mentioned from other reviews the walk to the lake and the cabin is challenging for older or out of shape guests. The host was great communicating with us. I would love to come and stay again.

Beautiful but really not great for kids or people with any mobility issues
We stayed at the property with our three kids (5, 7, 11) and the setting is beautiful. It is right on the lake, with a fantastic view and lots of quiet. It is across from a beautiful waterfall that it is fun to paddle board or kayak to. There are lots of places for people to sleep, so it would be good for a larger gathering. There are a couple of things that keep it from being 5 stars. It is not clear from the pictures, but there are multiple flights of stairs, very steep switchbacks, and very very steep driveway to walk down to get to the water/dock. It is so far and steep that once you are down there, you really want to avoid going back up. It was almost impossible to get the Kayak we rented down to the dock and even harder to get it back up with two able-bodied adults. In addition to being very steep, there are multiple places where there are sheer drops down to the water with no guardrail. For kids in particular, they get so much momentum going down the hills, there is worry the will go flying off one of the many sheer drops. The owners have clearly been doing renovations, so the pictures online do not match the house. For example, there is no longer a tub in the bathroom. This would be fine, but there are building materials, broken chairs, giant pieces of dock and concrete in random places around the property. There are very small things that also keep it from being five stars like no mattress pads on the beds, so the very thin sheets slip off the corners and you are sleeping on a bear mattress or the wine fridge has a condensation problems so their is always a puddle of water in the kitchen unless you put a towel down and change it when it gets soggy. The communication was great, check-in was very easy and I imagine they will get correct pictures up on VRBO soon. It is a lovely place for able-bodied adults who probable should be sober.
We enjoyed our stay very much. Our group was adults and our teenagers. I probably wouldn’t recommend this property for elderly people or little kids as there are steep sections of hill that needs to be navigate from the top house to the cabin, but for our family it worked fine. Arlene was great about communicating with me and if I had any questions or concerns she was back to me within minutes. The lake is absolutely beautiful and the area is quiet and relaxing. Would definitely stay again!
We had a great weekend stay at this beautiful venue. There was enough room to fit our large group and not feel on top of each other. To get from dock up to the main house is a little bit of a hike but we’ll worth it.
