About this property

Rural retreat on a working farm.

'Braemore Woolshed' is a classic kiwi woolshed conversion (yes, grey crinkly tin!) with fabulous rural views over farm land to hills beyond. Direct farm access to Maraetotara river for swimming, kayaking and fishing.

Simple comfortable furnishings and unique bedroom views into the barn. Open the louvres to enjoy the smell of newly cut hay from the adjacent barn or get a glimpse of the south suffolk sheep and speckle park cattle leaning over the rails.

The accommodation includes freeview TV, fully insulated with heat pump heating, dish washer, washing machine, high chair, travel cot, picnic table, garden chairs, BBQ and use of kayaks. Please ask if there's anything else you need. We'll try our best to make your stay special.

Wonderful place for family to experience rural life or base yourself to explore nearby attractions. Havelock North Village, Te Mata Vineyard and Black Barn Market are a 20 minute drive , Ocean Beach 25 mins and Red Bridge Cafe 10 minutes.

Opportunity for children to enjoy farm pets & activities. Pick your own fruit from the orchard and gather a fresh egg or two for breakfast.
Amazing skies for those who love star gazing!

Braemore Woolshed is located down a private road (6km of unsealed/gravel). Just down the track from the Farm House (owner), in the heart of a working farm so expect farm activity/vehicles especially during hay making and pumpkin harvest.

Strictly no smoking, fires or fireworks anywhere on the property.

The property is located at the end of a gravel track and is a lovely patch of piece and quiet. Plenty of farm animals for youngsters.

Rural farmstay
20 mins out of Hastings amongst rural farmland and hills. Fully self contained woolshed house with a gorgeous view from the lounge and backyard, of rolling hills and farmland. Farm animals were the highlight (donkey, pony, 2 baby goats, sheep, chickens). Daughters loved the animals.

Farmstay Hawkes Bay
The converted Woolshed is great, rustic, exactly as you would imagine it. Mark and Susan are wonderful hosts and were very kind to our young children, letting them spend a lot of time with the animals. We loved Ocean Beach and the nearby wineries and different towns of the region.

Fun on the farm
It was just perfect for us - the girls loved the bedrooms and the animals being so close. The eldest one was just upset we didn't have time to go kayaking on the pond. Susan is a lovely host - highly recommend this place.

Absolutely loved staying at the farm. The kids adored the animals that they can freely interact with, the orchard and the river. We would love to stay again and stay for longer next time. Sue & Mark are making hosts, so friendly. Thank you for having us.

A wonderful stay. The barn was so spacious and well equipped. The hosts were so approachable and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. It was so nice interacting with the animals daily and picking fresh plums straight from the orchard. A real five star experience.

So peaceful
If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, thus us the perfect place. Soooo peaceful and relaxing with great views surrounding the property. A family treat! Susan was awesome showing us the whereabouts of the property. Very clean and tidy house. Couldn’t ask for more. Will be going back for sure!

A home away from home
We had a wonderful stay, the perfect base for our family while visiting Hawkes Bay for a sports event. Everything we needed was right there, the property is really clean, the beds were REALLY comfy with hotel quality bedding and we loved the unique location. Susan was a very accommodating host and nothing was too much trouble.

Perfect for young kids
Had a fantastic time at the farm. Great location- close to many hawkes bay attractions. Toddler loved roaming around finding lots of animal poo and eating breakfast with the cows. We will be back!
