Great location. Beach 5 minutes walk away. Choice of 2 outdoor seating areas. Fully equipped kitchen and spacious lounge. Host really friendly and responsive. Would definitely stay again.
Lovely Bach to stay the weekend in. Fantastic location, close to shops and beach. Lots of books to read. Didn’t realise towels wouldn’t be provided as no mention of needing to bring own linen etc but other than that we had an enjoyable stay. Thanks
Easy walk to the shops and the beach. Nice and spacious for the two of us and has a great kitchen with everything we needed.
Nothing fancy, but ideal for a relaxed summer break.
Note: DVD player does not work but there is sky so you can record movies to watch in the evenings.
This is a great kiwi bach in a good location. It had a very well-equipped kitchen, everything we needed for our stay was there. Comfortable beds and plenty of space. Good to have a washing machine there. Gaylene was excellent with her communication.
Property was bigger than expected, we enjoyed having our own space in the house while friends in the sleepout. We were thankful we could check in a little earlier.
Very comfortable stay. Perfect for our needs. Beds were comfortable and lounge furniture was great. Only issue was with Sky tv which had atmospheric interference.
This property was an excellent choice for our trip. The layout was excellent and the furnishings homely and inviting providing a relaxing holiday in a convenient location
Gaylene’s property is perfect for a beach weekend away. Very handy to town and only a short stroll to the beach. The setup was just right - well equipped kitchen, lounge great for chilling out and a quiet, cosy bedroom. Having a washing machine was a bonus too. Unfortunately I picked a wet weekend so didn’t get to enjoy chilling on the front deck or in outside area - but looked like a treat for a summer evening. Thanks for having me!
Great location and facilities. Good communication with owner.

Need some care
The place is big and very well located.
We felt that some things needed to be replaced or done differently.
Lots of pillows were covered on yellow stains and smell like b.o., the mattress on the bottom bunk was like sunk on one side.
We had to move one of the beds so it was against the wall and when we moved it we discovered so much dirt and things (yes. Objects) under the bed, and when we lost a pen on the lounge we also discovered more dirt and things under the couch too.
Lots of little things all over the place, things that looked like where left by previous visitors, which is fine if someone wants to use them but it would be better if they were in one location inside a box or something otherwise it just feels like the place it’s never clean, there is even a name tag on an item in the bathroom, just looks random.
Also we found lots of ants and cockroaches, the worst happened when I got home and open my suitcase and there it was a baby cockroach 🤢
Also not sure if I’m very blind or what the deal is but owner says that in the website says “no linen provided “, I however at the time of this post couldn’t find it, upon arrival and noticing that there were no bedsheets I contacted a nearby motel and hire bedsheets and towels from them, afterwards the owner replied to my message and told me there were some on site and we use some pillowcases and extra towels. Funny thing is we were asked to remove the linen in the morning too, so we had to make the beds and undo them too.
Also the fans were dirty, one of them is broken.
Also some questionable electrical wiring on the bedroom facing the road.
If the property is looked after this could be a gem.
Thanks for the stay.
We loved our stay and how big the location was compared to the pictures. The rooms were lovely and cozy and the place was tidy. The host was very helpful. I would definitely stay there again

About the host
Hosted by gaylnn793
We are a family who have spent 40 odd years going to Whangamata for summer holidays with our family until we bought our own property which now our children's kids are loving. There is something to do for every age at the beach and is why we bought where we are because it's easy access to everything and don't really use a car while at the beach.
Why they chose this property
Walking and biking distance to all amenities at Whangamata. Close to the action if there are events in town. Walking distance to a selection of restaurants and cafes. Movie theater mini putt and golf clubs.
What makes this property unique
Close to Whangamata Club and RSA. Short walk to beach.
