About this property
Eagle's Haven - Lower - 2 bedroom, 1 Bath
This beautiful, cabin retreat is perched at the top of a private cul-de-sac hidden in the trees and overlooking Kenia Lake. With 2 bedrooms with queen beds in each + an additional single bed, 1 bathroom and a full kitchen and living room, this home comfortably accommodates 5 guests. The close proximity to both the Kenia River and Russian River makes this a great location for world class salmon fishing, hiking, mountain biking, rafting and all your bucket list outdoor adventures.
This vacation rental is the lower unit, a walkout basement unit, in a large 3 story cabin. The upstairs unit is also used as a vacation rental. Both areas are completely private and separate with separate patios and separate entrances. If you have a large group you can also rent both units of the entire cabin.
This huge cabin sits at the end of a private cul-de-sac with plenty of off street parking. The property backs up to the Chugach National Forest and overlooks the Kenai Lake and River, making this the perfect location for your summer getaway, with breathtaking views.
The space has 2 bedrooms (2 queen beds and 1 twin) and 1 bathroom, plus a living area and a full kitchen and laundry area. The house is fully stocked with all the essentials to make you feel at home on your trip. From the parking area, make your way down the garden path to the large patio with BBQ grill, patio furniture, and spectacular views of the Kenai Lake and the surrounding mountains. Watch for eagles which like to land on the big curved treetop branch to the south east. This outdoor area is perfect for grilling up your freshly caught salmon and enjoying the serenity of the location. There is a door on the patio which serves as the private entrance to your home away from home. You can let yourself in anytime with an easy to use Smartlock. The door opens to the kitchen and living room area. The living room has a Smart TV with Netflix access, and the kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, silverware, pots, pans, cooking oil, salt, pepper, a coffee maker and filters, microwave, and toaster etc to make your stay as easy and enjoyable as possible. There is also a table which seats 6 people. Down the hall there are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. 1 Bedroom has a queen bed, and the other has a queen bed and a twin bed. These bedrooms do not have windows which may be perfect for those having a hard time adjusting to the very long summer daylight hours. The bathroom has a small shower stall (no tub) as well as a washer and dryer.
There is a nice grassy area around the house as well as many garden beds, trees, and birdhouses. Help yourself to the wild raspberries, strawberries, currants, and serviceberries that grow around the yard.

About the host
Hosted by Megan Ahern

My name is Megan, and my husband is Jeff. We have 2 amazing kids, and love spending time with them. We met in California, where I grew up, and lived there while Jeff served in the Marine Corps. When he got out in 2017, we decided to move to Lincoln, Nebraska and start our real estate business. Although that takes up most of our time, our greatest passion in life is travel! So we have combined two things we love, real estate and travel, to become vacation rental hosts!
Why they chose this property
We love this house because it has an amazing view and plenty of space for the whole extended family. We love coming up to Cooper Landing, AK for the salmon run each year. Fishing the the Russian River is our favorite thing to do when we are here, but the area is teaming with amazing outdoor adventure activities. Whether you want to raft down the Kenai River with a fishing guide, fly fish for trout at Quartz Creek, hike or mountain bike the beautiful Resurrection Trail, hike the Russian River Falls Trail to watch the Salmon jump up the falls, this cabin will make a great home base. You can also take a day trip to Seward, Hope or Homer for even more Alaska sight seeing and adventures.
