Go ahead and read the reviews - ALL of them don't stop scrolling until you go all the way back to the beginning. You'll see how gushing veritably every last guest has been, and you hopefully will feel compelled to contribute to as well. As guests, we don't need to leave one but we can't help ourselves because of the experience. This is not just a vacation rental, it is a genuine getaway that promises to be an unforgettable experience literally unlike any other and you'll want to book again - once you arrive, you may find it nearly impossible to leave. Not hyperbole.

The Weather
In a temperate rainforest seriously don't rely too much on the weather forecast's predictions leading up to your stay!! While it may indicate rain for a specific day or days which inevitably could bring sadness or stress, the reality is often quite different because even if it DOES rain, it usually will last for a brief hour or so. To make the most of your plans, it's essential to scrutinize the hourly forecast and get a more accurate picture. So, don't let a gloomy prediction dampen your spirits; the rainforest might surprise you with its fleeting showers and delightful adventures! Plus, don't diminish how wonderful the creek looks and sounds - it only takes a few minutes of rain for the water levels to rise dramatically, and the waterfalls that much more enjoyable!

Guest Access
You'll find abundant parking options on both sides of the bridge, which gracefully spans the picturesque creek. For those with four-wheel drive, parking up the driveway hill just beneath the house is very possible. However, exercise caution as there are rocks and boulders on each side, and it's best to avoid potential car dents and scratches when reversing by staying vigilant.

Pets
There is a one time pet fee of $75.00 for up to two dogs. Kindly add $25 for a third. (maximum number of 3)

Right to Show Property
While it happens SO infrequently, the owner kindly offers scheduled tours of the beautiful "land" (respecting your privacy by not touring the house itself) for those interested in hosting their wedding on the property. These tours usually last approximately 1 hour, providing a wonderful opportunity for prospective couples to envision their special day amidst this enchanting setting. Understanding that many visitors are traveling from afar, I'll be more than happy to promptly share the details of their scheduled visit as soon as they are available. Rest assured, we strive to be as inconspicuous as possible during these tours, ensuring that your tranquility remains undisturbed. Of course, if you wish, you're most welcome to meet and greet the potential wedding hosts, adding to the excitement of their visit. It's always a joyous time for them, filled with anticipation and enthusiasm!

Absolutely breathtaking
Our expectations were so high that I thought there was no way anything could ever live up to them. It was the week of mine and my girlfriend’s wedding. We spent a year planning and looking for the perfect place. When I tell you it was everything, it was everything. I’ll spend the rest of my life with the memories of marring my wife there, I couldn’t have asked for more perfect memories. It absolutely exceeded all of our expectations. It’s hard to put into words what this place is really like. The photos don’t/can’t do the waterfalls justice. They are absolutely beautiful and bountiful. It’s not just one or two, they are all through out. It’s just amazing. There are wide paths covered in moss that make it easy to walk along by the water. The leaves were changing the week we were there, and they bursted into color the whole week. Our dogs absolutely loved it there as well. They played in the water and soaked up the sun on the deck. The house is beautiful. I love how you can see different waterfalls from different windows. The couch is super comfy, and there were more tv channels than we knew what to do with. It was the most peaceful place I could have ever asked for, and to marry my wife there … it was everything. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in this most amazing place Ken. You’ve curated a space that exceeds all expectations. I hope to get to come back someday.

Reconnecting and relaxation
The host has created a beautiful, peaceful, serene setting in the Hot Springs/MaxPatch area where you can unplug, relax, enjoy nature, hike, all while enjoying a luxury place to stay. Escaping city life, hot temperatures, locked doors and windows to sleeping with the windows open listing to peaceful sounds of waterfalls, enjoying nature such as butterflies, lightning bugs, and humming birds bringing back childhood memories. It was a truly great experience. The only reason I thought about lowering the score for accuracy of online listing is because initially we chose the cabin because of the address listed. Thinking it was in Asheville so we could visit the city which we could have done still, but everything happens for a reason and we ended up just staying the whole time relaxing at the location which is what we really needed. Just make sure you read the guide ahead of time, have your supplies, code, Wi-Fi password, all before you go to this remote area. The host is very receptive and ready to address any needs. We truly appreciate this experience.

Paradise in the Mountains
Our stay was everything promised and more from the house, the waterfalls, the lights, the view, the trails, etc... It is a one-of-a-kind stay that you can tell with every detail that it was built as a labor of love inside the house and out! A perfect view from the hot tub and for peace, relaxation, and nature.

Modern home with endless trails!
I stayed three nights with my dog to get a lot of hiking in beautiful Hot Springs. Not only is Max Patch (a surreal experience especially at sunset) 5 miles up the road and the Appalachian trail about 25 min. from the property, the host Ken has built trails all over the property. So if you don't feel like leaving this very comfortable home you can just stay all day and hike and enjoy the amazing surroundings. I absolutely LOVED the sound system, the comfortable couch and bed, the lighting and of course hot-tubbing under the stars. I hope to be back in the fall if it doesn't get totally booked up!

Get ready to forest bathe!
We are a family of five with a toddler and we had the absolute best experience at this cabin! It was very clean and it had anything and everything we could’ve possibly needed. The owner puts a lot of thought and work to ensure the guests have a great experience. From walking in with a hand written sign welcoming us to the cabin to the owner checking in a day after we arrived, everything was great. We spent a lot of time hiking. If you visit, you must go to max patch! It’s a hill but not a hike ( all three kids made it up and loved it!). We also walked everyday and picked fresh mountain black berries! To me, this is the ultimate glamping location!

Dreamiest cabin ever (and I travel a lot)
Postcard perfection. Endless waterfall sounds and mountain breeze - a modern home in the wilderness. The perfect escape . Views from the hot tub were breathtaking. My pup had the zoomies the second I let her off leash to gallop from rock to rock and she never stopped smiling- until we had to leave of course. I think she might still be mad . Worth every penny.

About the host

Host profile image
My journey led me from 20 years living in crazy NYC and owning my own legal recruiting firm in 2014 to the serene beauty of Asheville and Western North Carolina. Since buying this property in 2019 where the new house sits, I've dedicated the majority of my time excavating and shaping the landscape from tangled and untamed nature. Every aspect of this transformation was accomplished without the help of machinery but simply with my hands, a trusty shovel, a weed whacker, and a couple of chainsaws. The evolution never ends as every year brings new projects that makes the property that much more enticing.

Why they chose this property

To me, this slice of paradise feels like my very own National Park. I've spent years journeying across the globe with a backpack always seeking out natural beauty and capture them through a camera lens. Yet, in all my travels, I have never encountered a private property that exudes such a breathtaking landscape right at the doorstep. The beauty that unfolds here is unparalleled, offering a unique and awe-inspiring sensory experience that never ceases to captivate me.

What makes this property unique

While the house is beautiful in its construction and complete with focal points at every angle, the real magic is in its surrounds literally any time of year. There are NO neighbors front, back, or at either side so you will enjoy complete privacy without worry. The orchestral sound of falling water in sonic 3D is simply mystical no matter where you choose to sit. In addition, at night the creek lights up with color from top to bottom which is a genuine thrill.
