Come stay in this rare, cozy piece of Heights history. A 1930's Church, converted to loft-style living of a true architecturally exceptional Duplex Property. The home features 4 bedrooms + 2.5 bathrooms and can sleep 10 guests. The 2nd level open floor plan is a great place to connect, featuring, 14' exposed beamed ceilings, original hardwood floors, and an amazing bricked wall of windows. Outdoor spaces include a spacious 2nd floor covered deck, and large fenced yard with private POOL. This is the perfect location for just a few minute walk to boutique shops, local eateries, coffee shops, craft pubs, and more.

-The maximum occupancy is 10 adults.
-Rental Agreement must be e-signed after booking, which requests the names and ages of adult guests.
-No bachelor parties allowed.

-Additional deposits may be required.
-No pets allowed. If you are traveling with a pet, reach out as we can help you find a pet-friendly place.
-To keep our home beautiful, we ask that you not hang decorations on the walls. Tape, tacks, and other adhesives tend to peel paint and leave marks, etc. Glitter and confetti decor are also prohibited both inside and outside. Evidence will result in an additional cleaning fee of $250, plus the cost of damages to home.
-Enjoy a smoke, just not inside. Please ensure all doors and windows are shut and dispose of your ends in the outdoor trash bins. Indoor smoking will result in a sizable fine.
-Indoor smoking will result in a $500 fine + the cost of smoke removal treatment.
-Reservations made during Events, Festivals, and Conferences are non-refundable.

Location is great. House is spacious. Sitting veranda and lawn is good. Everything needed is nearby. Only minus is that its a corner house so open pool in front yard may not be for everyone's taking

Great place king beds great living space, the pool in the front yard is different. Too cold to swim but it was unique. Everything was nice great balcony big rooms. TV in pretty much every room. Over all enjoyed it and will stay there again.

Not what we were expecting.

Upon arrival to the house, the electric door lock would not work. We were able to reach someone who gave us an alternate entrance. We had 10 girls staying at the house which is what the house listing acts like it accommodates. Upon entry, we found that the 2 twin beds mentioned were actually fold out beds. There were sheets for the beds but only 1 comforter and not a single extra blanket in the house. Of the 2.5 bathrooms, there was 1 hand towel and 8 bath towels. So, not everyone in our party had their own bath towel. The house is lacking cookware….even something simple like a baking sheet. The fridge ice maker didn’t work and the heating was undesirable. Overall, not a pleasant experience. I don’t understand having a rental and not having it fully stocked. We will not be back.

Great location and plenty of space, clean, properly manager very responsive The description of the property does not mention that the main living quarters are downstairs, and the staircase is very steep, challenging for seniors, and although the seniors in our family were able to negotiate this because they are in pretty good shape, this should be in the description of the property. The most concerning problem with this property is the front staircase from the outside. The staircase is steep, there are no handrails at all, and the staircase is in a terrible state of dis repair. The wood is cracked, the stairs are detached from the wall in some places, but the lack of a handrail makes this extremely hazardous. We could not use the staircase at all, so we had to come in through the garage. This detracts from otherwise very nice property in a great location.

Amazing Stay at Church House

We saw mixed reviews when booking, but couldn't be happier that we selected this property. The property was very clean and very spacious. The kids loved the pool, and we made home cooked meals in the kitchen, ate as a family at the dining table, and lounged on a large couch in front of the TV together. Everything we needed was provided (soaps, kitchenware, towels, etc.), and the few questions we had Renter's club answered my text message in minutes. Would definitely come back for another stay.

A lot of broken appliances

Washer, dishwasher, master bathroom toilet, and pool heater weren’t working properly. Heater got addressed immediately but we felt it was too many appliances not working properly upon our stay. Bottom rack on dishwasher broken. Property managers response was just well are the dishes clean? The dishes would be cleaned but EVERY TIME you would have to lift the bottom rack up with ALL the dishes on the rack because they don’t feel it’s necessary to get the wheels fixed for pulling the rack in and out. Master bathroom toilet ran after flushing a lot. Washer would run and then would be filled with water and wasn’t doing the spin cycle correctly. Taking it twice as long then it should have to do a load. Pool heater had a gas smell upon our arrival and they had to send someone to fix. The property managers response was basically just that well your in a house things are gonna happen. Of course things break and have to be fixed in a house but there is NO WAY there should have been that MANY issues with appliances in things. They should be better at keeping up things on this house. When you book a vrbo and expect for these things to be working they should work. One thing not working is more reasonable. I already do upkeep on my own house, I wasn’t looking to do a bunch of upkeep for a vrbo home. The property manager that I spoke to wasn’t very sympathetic and polite about this many things not working. House location was good for walking to coffee shops, some shops, playground.

Wonderful main floor

The ups: The location is absolutely perfect. The openness of the main floor and the beautiful brick and wood floors is gorgeous. The pool is a wonderful small pool. The beds were all very comfortable. The downs: the property was unlocked when we arrived. The front porch furniture was covered with soiled sheets and torn pillows. The primary shower was covered in mold. The outdoor areas had not been prepared for our stay and was not simply recent leaf fall making those elements not usable during our stay, which was one of the main reasons I selected this home and paid extra for heating the pool. This house has incredible promise and with just a bit more turnaround care would really make this somewhere we would return.

Best location in in the Heights!

This is my 2nd time staying at this property this year! I really enjoyed the convenience of being close to downtown and the Galleria. Enjoyed being able to walk to some local restaurants. House layout is great. Kitchen is open into the living room which makes it nice to engage with family as I make a special family dinner. It was overall just awesome! I will definitely stay here again!

Great location and the perfect house for large groups

My friends and I stayed at this property for a long weekend in October. The house was clean and inviting — with lots of natural light and tons of space to gather to talk, eat and relax. The pool was perfect for a quick dip, even in October! The property management was helpful, attentive and even sent someone over to look at the lock on the door when we were having trouble with it. Beds were comfortable and linens were clean and comfortable!

Got the job done, could use some updates

We needed a place to stay while our new home was being made ready. The pool was excellent for the kids, and they actually really like the artificial turf, which I wasn't sure about. The house itself is stylish, but you can tell that its been a while since it has had a refresh. Its just the wear and tear of having a rent-home, I'm sure. Just know that the photos are accurate in terms of what's actually in the home, but it isn't as new looking as when the pictures were taking (maybe 5-7 years ago?)

Gorgeous!

The Church House is so elegant, with a timeless beauty. The pool is perfect for kids- just deep and big enough not to worry. This house is meticulously decorated with beautiful art and quality material. The neighborhood is so nice. Taking a walk, you will notice historical homes that have been restored to their former glory. The AC worked great. Access to Disney + was a win for the kids, a fully stocked kitchen with every thing you need but food. We didn’t have to leave accept for the one event we came to Houston for. I definitely want to stay there again!
