Located in the heart of the Upper West Side, steps from Central Park and many wonderful shops and restaurants, this bright, sunny large one bedroom parlor floor apartment is one flights up in a gut renovated historic brownstone townhouse.

It boasts high ceilings, hardwood floors, Restored Original Stained Glass Windows with Custom Blinds, and Elfa custom-designed closets.

The living area comes complete with a full-size sofa-bed, a state-of-the-art media center with 37” HDTV, Home Theater AV Receiver and a Playstation 3 ready for streaming (Netflix, Youtube, etc.), Wifi Router

The bedroom has a queen size bed, a dresser and a large closet.

The eat-in kitchen features granite counter tops, brand new stainless steel appliances, including a microwave and dishwasher. It is also fully stocked with all the basics you will need for day-to-day living: a toaster, coffee maker, and electric water kettle.

The European-tiled bathroom has a bathtub and shower in tub, extensive storage below and above the sink, and a toilet.

Between Amsterdam Avenue and Columbus Avenue, one block away from Line 1 and Line D subway stations for easy access to almost everywhere in Manhattan. Also, it is located one block away from Broadway upscale shopping district.

Easy access to Zabar, Columbia University, New York Presbyterian, Barnard, The Jewish Theological Seminary, Manhattan School of Music, American Museum of Natural History, Fordham University, Lincoln Center and Metropolitan Opera.

Guests will have access to the apartment using a fob to open the entrance door to the building and the vestibule door. We have security cameras through the hallways and the entrance of the building. They will have an apartment equipped with everything they might need for a long-term stay. They can use free of charge the finished laundry room with two washers/two dryers. Only four apartments might use them, so it is very convenient.

OUR PET POLICY OUTLINES THE NUMBER OF PETS, WEIGHT LIMIT AND BREED RESTRICTIONS ALONG WITH RELATED FEES. PLEASE DISCLOSE ALL INFORMATION ABOUT ANY PETS YOU INTEND TO KEEP DURING YOUR STAY WHEN YOU INQUIRE OR/AND SUBMIT A "RESERVATION REQUEST".

PLEASE NOTE, with advanced notice to the tenants, owner has the right to show the apartment to prospective tenants, have access to the apartment for maintenance (AC filters cleaning for example) or repair purposes.

The building is completely network wired which is managed professionally by the owner. The building has cameras on each floor. Entry to the building is accessible with a fob connected to a computerized access point and IP based audio/video intercom system. The apartment is network wired and both WiFi and wired internet access is available.

Tenants have free of charge access to the laundry room in the building with two washers/two dryers.

The normal check in date is 4:00 pm and check out time is 10:30 am unless other arrangements are made with the owner.

PARKING: Being a high-end residential area, Upper West Side where our building is located is one of the rare areas where you can still park for free. You can park on the street free of charge except for four days a week between 8:30 am to 10:00 am, Mon and Thu on the North side of our street and Tue and Fri on the South side of the street, because of street cleaning. I would say, for the most part the residents park in the street and you don't need a parking permit. During these four days when the street sweeper comes between 8:30 to 10:00, all cars which are parked, you can move your car to the middle of the street or double park so that the sweeper can go thru. After the sweeper is gone, Neighbours move right back to their parking spot, but the driver needs to stay in the car till 10:00 am. If you are on the side which does not have the street cleaning, you can park as long as you want, and it is free. I would say, most residents are able to find a parking spot so that they don't have to move their car during the street cleaning.

There is a parking garage two blocks south, on 83rd street between Columbus and Amsterdam and some tenants might have used it as a long-term parking. If you want to find a long-term parking and don't need the car every day, you can probably find a less expensive parking garage on the west side of Manhattan as you get closer to the Hudson River. I believe you can probably shop around once you are in the city.

Now, this information applies to the street and not to the avenues! I believe we pay about $ 10.75/2 hours on Columbus and Amsterdam Avenues. You are allowed to park a maximum of an hour or two since you cannot pay more with the park meters. Few spots are reserved for commercial parking till 1:00 pm, but I would say if it is for couple of hours you can always find a spot on the avenues as well as with park meters. Wonderful stay
I had a wonderful stay at this property! Everything was clean, and Izi was communicative and helpful. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils (pots, pans, dishes, etc etc). It was comfortable and felt safe, and I enjoyed the location on the upper west side. Highly recommend!

We had the most wonderful stay at west 85th for so many reasons: Check in, and service were amazing. The kitchen was stocked with cleaning supplies, plates, coffee maker etc. The apt is clean and is in a great location. I loved my stay here and it is so close to Central Park, two subways, and the fabulous upper west side.

This one is a winner!
The building is on a tree-lined street with almost no auto traffic. Lots of people walking babies and/or dogs. The handsome windows and high ceilings make this apartment feel much larger. Very close to Central Park and public transportation. Some great restaurants nearby, plus the Strand bookstore and many coffee shops. The owners are outstanding, kind and attentive. It's a great place!!

I highly recommend this apartment! It's the best vacation rental/VRBO apartment we've stayed in -- and we've stayed in lots! The owner has a background in hospitality so he understands how to take care of guests, and everything about the apartment is well done! The kitchen has everything you would want, the furniture is comfortable and the bed is great! Plus there's washers and dryers! And the location... in the heart of the Upper West Side, around the corner from the best coffee USW coffee shop, and a block from Central Park! You'll be happy if you stay here!

Lovely, cozy studio!
This apartment is the best that can be found in New York: excellent location , nice and quiet street and near to restaurants, metro entrance, supermarket etc. My daughter and I stayed there and we enjoyed the place a lot. It has everything that is needed for everyday life and more. The bed is very comfortable, the apartment is very well lit; the kitchen also had all the amenities that were needed. Izi and his assistant maintain excellent communication, always ready to help in anything that is needed. This apartment has been remolded recently and they maintain it perfectly, well decorated and cozy. I highly recommend this lovely NY gem.

My home in NYC
I stayed at Izi' s apartment for 9 months during my study at Columbia University. Conditions went beyond the listing description. First of all the neighborhood provides a wonderful experience for living as a real New Yorker. The area between Amsterdam and Columbus is full of shops and restaurants. You will reach Central Park (great lawn, Jackie O. reservoir) within a few steps if you walk towards East. It is a complete bliss on Sundays full of families, couples, pet lovers, sports addicts:) If you turn West at the doorstep, you can easily catch the no1 train on Broadway which is the main local line in Manhattan. Gristedes on Columbus and Key Foods on Amsterdam will be your main groceries with fresh and affordable items. You can even walk to Zabar's which is a real NY landmark, for cheese from all over the world or kosher food. The apartment amenities are modern, convenient and well maintained. Izi goes above all expectations in finding solutions to all the needs you may think of. Sheets are new and always clean and the apartment is very clean. Bathroom is very hygienic , there is 24 hour hot water and the equipment is brand new. Kitchen is well equipped with the best of tools. The pull out couch can easily turn into an additional double bed. Complimentary washing machine and the dryer in the basement provides laundry without having to go outside. TV and cable are also available if you can stay inside in Manhattan:) Wi-Fi is top quality. There is plenty of space in the bedroom closet for all your items including luggage. Izi has even thought of umbrellas in case a sudden shower catches you. His assistant Elio is there whenever you need help. As a result, my experience in New York was a life time remembrance and I'm happy to express real gratitude from the top of my heart to Izi and his team.

Great apartment
The apartment is in an brownstone on the Upper West Side. Perfect location. I loved the neighborhood. Near Central and Riverside Parks. Public transportation within easy walking distance. Lots of restaurants nearby. Great food shopping at Zabars, Fairway, Trader Joe's. Apartment small but cozy. Very quiet. Landlord is very helpful and available. He handled any issue in a professional and prompt manner. Very friendly and easy to work with. WIFI and cable TV worked well. Even my ATT cell phone had a good signal. I am looking forward to returning.

Perfect location for a month or more in NYC
Rave reviews for this apartment! The pictures and description are completely accurate. What they don't tell you is this could possibly be the quietest, most comfortable spot on the Upper West Side. First, the location is in a real neighborhood. Only a couple blocks to the 1 line subway on Broadway, or the B/C on Central Park West. Many food markets close by, including Zabars. Second, the apartment has everything you need including a beautiful laundry in the basement. My husband spent a week with me and there was more than adequate storage for both of us. Our son is a Columbia student and we had some great family dinners, sitting around the marble topped kitchen island. The bed was very comfortable, even for two tall adults. Third, Izi is perhaps the most responsive property manager I've ever found. After 21 years of visiting NYC, and some very bad hotel experiences, Izi exceeded all expectations. He was there to meet me when I arrived. Every detail of the apartment was clearly explained. He was on site most days. On the rare occasion I had a question, Izi was available by phone and email. I was not ready to leave at the end of my month, and will definitely return in the future. I would recommend this apartment to anyone who wants to be a short term resident of NYC. Cheers!

We had a wonderful stay. The apartment was clean,well maintained, had great appliances, was attractively furnished and a kitchen that was well stocked with everything that one would need to cook. The owner/manager(Izi) couldn't do enough for us and was always there if we needed anything. The location is superb! Close to 2 subway lines and uptown and downtown buses as well. There are restaurants in all price ranges within a half a block of the apartment. And best of all the apartment is a block and a half to Central Park and the walking and running track of the reservoir. We would certainly recommend this property to friends and relatives. My 3 month stay in Upper West Side
Coming from the Midwest, I definitly had sticker shock at how much apartments cost in Manhattan and especially the small size of them. However, I've also never had a property manager (Izi) be so professionally concerned with making sure my stay was comfortable. From the moment I arrived, he was there to make sure I had everything I needed. He set up my internt connection, dropped off hangers, ice cube trays, extra pillows, pretty much anything I needed. He is a very hard worker and was always very pleasant (but never imposing). The apartment itself was nicely organized (all new) and had a washer/dryer and a private patio which is unheard of in Manhattan. If you can afford it, I would definitly recommend staying at this apartment. Nice neighborhood too.

At Home in NYC
This apartment is amazing...definitely top-notch! The finishes and amenities are worth every penny of your stay. High ceilings and large windows make the apartment bright and feel much more spacious than a typical 1 BR NYC apartment. The location on the UWS can't be beat. We were close to everything we could ever need and close to all public transportation on a quiet residential street. We also couldn't make enough good comments about the building landlord, Izi. Izi made us feel at home from our first contact with him. He's definitely not your typical NYC landlord. His attention to detail and commitment to our satisfaction far exceeded our expectations. Our every need was taken care of. We felt like we were guests in a 5 star hotel. This place can't be missed if you are looking for a home away from home.

Great place
This place is located in a very quiet and beautiful neighborhood, close to central park and across the street from a school. The apartment was fully furnished with modern equipment (AC, high speed internet, TV, DVD player, gaming console etc) and the manager (Izi) was as helpful as can be to introduce us to it. Overall we had a great stay at this place. Will certainly reach out again if I need a place in NY again.

We restored this 1880's brownstone preserving all of historic features, but in the same time providing all the luxury accommodation with high tech communication infrastructure of an office. For example every corner of the apartments is wired for 100 GB internet connection.

We have I believe a unique property in one of the nicest areas of Manhattan with all the amenities we could possibly offer, ie; high speed wired and WIFI internet, Custom made European kitchen with Miele Appliances, Washer/Dryer, IP based video intercom etc.
