Royston Lodge - Dog-Friendly Halls Gap Getaway

Royston Lodge offers self-catered, dog-friendly accommodation in Halls Gap, The Grampians (Gariwerd), western Victoria, Australia.

The house lies on 3200m2 of land in a quiet side-street, near the cycle track and 1.6km south of the main shopping area of Halls Gap. Walk to shops and restaurants, or rent a bike and get around town easily.

The house has 3 bedrooms that sleep 7 people and sofa-beds in the lounge that can accomodate up to an additional 3 people (linens are not provided but currently cannot be arranged due to COVID-Safe practices). It has a newly renovated, fully equipped kitchen with a Breville double-boiler espresso machine and coffee bean grinder, dishwasher, gas cooking, electric oven, microwave and a full size refrigerator/freezer. The kitchen is stocked with basics including salt, pepper, oils and spices.

Free wi-fi is included in the house for guests to use.

The lounge has a 42”/106cm flat-screen SmartTV, DVD/blu-ray player, bluetooth sound-bar and iPod dock. Sofa seating is provided, comfortable for 7 people. including a double sofa-bed and a single sofa-bed. The lounge also has a wood-stove and firewood is provided.

The main bathroom was recently renovated and includes a spacious double-shower, under-floor heating and a heated towel rail.

The house has an air-conditioner and ceiling fans in the lounge and one bedroom.

A large east-facing deck is a perfect place to enjoy meals while watching the birds and wildlife. A new gas BBQ is provided, and outdoor seating for a large group.

Great pet-friendly home in beautiful spot!
Lovely, clean and spacious home. Love that it was child-friendly and pet friendly! Children enjoyed feeding the birds in the mornings with the bird seed provided. Such a beautiful and quiet spot, and we found the dog run handy during the days. Plenty of space and beds for our 2 families (4 adults, 6 children). Thank you, Paula!

Bushfires cancelled our stay
We were booked for the week of Xmas 2024, unfortunately bushfires in the national park, and an evacuation notice for Halls Gap, meant unfortunately we had to make last minute alternative plans. Paula was fantastic with communication during this time, and kept us well informed. We will be receiving our refund soon., and plan to rebook in the future.

Beautiful house!
Gorgeous modern kitchen and bathroom. Lovely decking. Convenient resources in the kitchen, ie. Oils, herbs, salt and pepper, coffee machine. Nothing worse than needing to shop for the basics for cooking. Kitchen is heavily equipped with everything you need.

Great home in a beautiful setting
Great home for a group of friends or family. The setting is remarkable. We had daily visits from kangaroos and emus along with all of the local birdlife. The kitchen is the best in any short stay rental I’ve ever been in. Highly recommend.

Beautiful, relaxing getaway.
Wonderful place to stay. We had an amazing week here with our 11 year old son and dog. So peaceful yet close to everything. The house has all you need and our hosts were very lovely. We hope to be back soon.

Great stay in the middle of nature
We loved our stay at Royston lodge. Waking up to kangaroos in the morning then having cockatoos sitting on our shoulders trying to pinch our breakfast! It was amazing and the morning sun on the deck was beautiful. We also enjoyed the log fire and warm showers.

I would recommend this property for a satisfactory stay. Only down fall was the amount of animal fur left behind from pet's. But I guess it's to be expected in pets welcome accommodation.

Paula was amazing to deal with. The property was better than I expected. Location, outlook, peace and quiet, beautifully renovated kitchen and bathroom, cleanliness, access to internet and smart TV. You can connect your songs to the house speakers, good quality appliances and cutlery and plenty of it. Had all Meals watching Kangaroos and Kookaburras. Absolutely will be back. Highly recommend.

Perfect for us!
Royston Lodge was the perfect place to stay for us (4 adults, 4 kids and 1 dog)! Communication with Paula was great. We particularly enjoyed our meals on the deck, watching the kangaroos and parrots. It’s a beautiful part of the world and we would have liked to stay longer.

Royston Lodge
Royston is a secluded homely stay ~ fully stocked with everything you could possibly need/want ~ great location, easy stroll to shops .. Updated kitchen ( everything you need in a kitchen ), updated bathroom ( floor heating ) - ex large shower with choice of 2 showerheads ( 2 toilets 🚻 ) .. Very comfortable & suitable amenities for 7 adults .. Pet friendly is a bonus ( 2 happy pooches ) Will definitely be rebooking .. Happy Happy satisfied 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Good spot
In a good position just out of town, local walking trails just up the road no car needed. The house had good facilities, however it was not very clean when we arrived. It is no good for anyone in a wheelchair, however for the hiker it is a good base.

Great location and house - well equipped and have thought of everything :-) the only feedback is that the lounge/couches look so good but are actually not comfortable to sit on. Thanks for everything - the bikes were great and made getting around town even easier!
