About the host
Hosted by Jack Cawood

I'm a retired pipefitter welder and I understand how nice it would be to have an affordable home away from home while working in a new area. I've been renting the apartments full time for more than a decade until December. I started converting them over to fully furnished short-term rentals when my girlfriend, who owns Aunt Rose's Place, started helping me set mine up as they became available. I'm looking forward to renting to people who appreciate a nice home while working or visiting the area of Monroe.
Why they chose this property
Location, location, location! Jack’s Joint’s Downtown Monroe MI Apartment building is located within a couple miles of I-75, US-23, M-24, M-25, it’s close to ProMedica, Fermi, DTE Powerhouse, and all Monroe industries where contractors frequently work for extended periods of time.
The building wide front covered porch with side-tables, chairs, and mounted ashtrays to keep the porch clean, has lots of room to distance wile relaxing outside, watch walkers, visit with others, or have a smoke in a shaded covered area outside. The back yard off the alley parking lot is large enough to toss a ball around, with plans of fencing it in, adding a grill and yard furniture. There are many nice parks within walking distance if you have the kiddos with you! Kroger’s is only a few blocks away as are dollar stores and other shops and restaurants.
Our guests are thrilled at the extent of extras we provide to make it as homey and well equipped as possible. We provide our guests with enough paper products, trash bags, and soaps to get them through a few weeks stay. We also provide enough linens for the number of guests. Because we frequently host contractors, we extended our stone parking lot to 30ftx40ft, and plan to add an electrical outlet for hookups.

What makes this property unique
Let’s not forget Lake Erie! We are about a mile from the lake as the crow flies! Relax and go fishing at the river a few blocks away, or fishing, swimming, and sunbathing at Sterling State Park. Water equipment can be rented at several reasonably priced marinas and canoe liveries nearby. Monroe has public golf courses, put-put, go-carts, bowling, war memorials including the new River Raisin National Battlefield Park commemorating, “The War of 1812”. Monroe has a bike shop a few blocks away and many bike paths, and parks abound. YMCA is along the river walk about a mile from Jack’s Joint’s Downtown.
Jack’s Joint’s is 45 min to Dearborn where the Henry Ford Museum is. It's a one-of-a-kind, not to be missed experience. Plan to return the next day to see more if it, but by far not all of it. River Rouge Ford Assembly plant is about 40 minutes away where you can watch a truck being built. If you were a *Mash* fan, Tony Packo’s is in Toledo OH about 25 miles away, as is the Toledo Museum of Art, Hands on museum, Zoo, and lots of shopping!
