About this property

Heaton Cottage

Heaton Cottage is located in the grounds of the historic Heaton Lodge. The house has been renovated and is a spacious and comfortable setting for families and groups to enjoy the Mudgee area. It is located in a quiet garden setting with access to the Cudgegong river.

We have a stunning private river frontage that is available to our guests. There is a fire pit to enjoy in the winter months.

An easy 10 minute walk to Mudgee central where you can explore a wide selection of cafes, pubs and interesting shops.

The main house has 3 bedrooms, a large living room and sunroom plus kitchen and 2 bathrooms. There is an additional 2 bedrooms across a small courtyard in an adjacent building with its own bathroom. A final bedroom - bedroom 6 is located on the other side of the courtyard.

All linen is provided - breakfast is included for the first night

Please note that at this property we cannot take pets.

Perfect Mudgee stay
Heaton Cottage exceeded expectations for our long weekend stay. There was plenty of room and amenities for a big group and an easy walk into town. Highly recommend.

Great Stay
Heaton Cottage is a great place for groups to stay. The cottage and adjacent rooms are perfect for groups of friends (or family) and the cottage itself is charming, well presented, comfortable and very private. We had 4 couples stay for 3 nights and had no issues at all.The cottage is within walking distance of town and has all the amenities you would hope for.We would recommend Heaton Cottage to anyone.

Cozy stay in great location
We had a wonderful time in Mudgee, the house is, cozy, very well equipped and in a great location. Also it has a perfect layout for families and friends alike with separate accommodation. Highly recommended!

The perfect property in a perfect location
We were a group of 6 people staying in Mudgee for a birthday weekend. We could not have asked for a more perfect place to stay. The cottage is beautifully furnished and maintained, with incredibly comfortable beds, chairs sofas etc. It is perfectly located, being just over a 10 minute walk into town, but the property location is stunning, peaceful and tranquil. I wish we could have stayed longer, but will definitely be back!

Mudgee Stay
A group of us came to stay in Mudgee for the weekend. This place was perfect for us with clear communication from the owner. The place was perfect for us and excided our expectations. We will definitely come again next year.

Fabulous Girl’s weekend
We are nine ladies who have just spent a fabulous long Weekend in beautiful Heaton cottage. The location is perfect, we walked into town to go shopping. The gardens are spectacular and we sat down next to the river most afternoons and it was just beautiful. The beds are all really comfortable. And the house is gorgeous. I have stayed there before and hopefully will stay there again.

Mudgee town haven
The whole family came to Mudgee for a wedding and had a wonderful stay at Heaton cottage. Everything was perfect from the spacious sun lit living areas to the beautiful ample grounds, the chickens and the River on the boundary. Hosts Julie and John were very helpful. Highly recommended. Perfect cosy winter getaway
We are a group of friends who enjoy regular country getaways. Heaton Cottage was perfect for our group with most being able to have their own rooms. There were so many lovely inclusions including farm fresh eggs and a fully prepared open fire which we used a lot. The house has lovely grounds and is located a short walk from town. Julie was delightful to deal with and the house is very well appointed with comfortable beds. We would highly recommend a stay at Heaton Cottageincluding

Great long weekend
We stayed with our family in the cottage for a wedding. The house was well equipped with everything we needed for the weekend. The grounds looked beautiful but unfortunately unable to enjoy with rain the whole time. Very close to the shops. We would stay again with a group next time in Mudgee

A perfect weekend home
We stayed at Heaton Cottage as a small work-friend getaway, which was absolutely perfect. Julie is an excellent host, and the house is exceptionally well-presented and equipped - especially for a larger group of adults who want personal space. Each room had a comfy queen bed, and it was excellent to have breakie supplies provided, which is increasingly absent in other short-term listings. The grounds are immaculately maintained, and it is so close to town, yet it feels like you're in the country. I highly recommend and would love to come back

Girls weekend and it hit the mark
We were a group of five multi-generational adult women and were excited to find accommodation that offered separate bedrooms for all of us. Perfect for groups
We couldn't fault Heaton Cottage. We were a group of 7 friends and we all had our own (very comfortable) beds - most of us had our own rooms! The grounds are beautiful, with ducks and chickens to feed and being set back from the road made it so quiet. The kitchen is really well stocked so if you wanted to cook, no need to buy staples. I can't recommend the property enough.

Winter work and family getaway
We had a wonderful experience. The property is perfect for the cold weather with a fireplace and electric blankets that kept us cosy. The furnishings are tasteful and the supplies for a delicious breakfast was appreciated. The grounds are simply beautiful offering the perfect environment to relax and unwind. The kids loved feeding the chickens too. Julie the host went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. I would highly recommend staying here.

Heaton Cottage Fabby!!
Julie was so generous with cereal,fruit and milk and other staples in her kitchen for our stay. The house was so comfortable for the 6 of us. Beds all comfy and we had lots of space.. Wonderful
Beautiful property, the kids loved the chickens, grounds and river at the back. The rooms and living areas were comfortable, very spacious and lots of lovely areas to sit for some quiet time or hang out as a group. Everywhere was warm enough. The fire was glorious and every bedroom had electronic blankets and heaters so no one was cold. We loved our stay and we’re swept away by the beauty of the place. Thank you for having us 😊

It was great, a lot of room for 8 adults, can have more. Extra big master bedroom with ensuite plus 2 other bedrooms, bathroom and another 2 in the annex with bathroom . Exceptional breakfast/sunroom, dining lounge and big kitchen. Everything catered for by host . Clean.
