Stunning Views!
We had a fantastic stay at Lake Okareka! The location was perfect—peaceful and serene, with breathtaking views. Communication was seamless, and the place had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We’d love to return on a future trip!

Great Spot
Brilliant spot! Be prepared to climb some stairs and there is plenty of parking for a boat but depending on size you may need to back up the steepish drive because there is not a lot of room to turn it around. Owners were awesome and very accomodating.

A wonderful getaway

Lake Okareka Getaway
The property has everything that you need to enjoy a weekend away (or a week). It has amazing views to enjoy a cuppa in the morning on the deck. Great base and close enough to Rotorua for groceries and activities and far enough away to have a tranquil spot to enjoy.

Great house
Fantastic house to base a family for water sports and mountain biking. Lovely to sit on deck surrounded by tuis in the trees. Very clean and everything you need. Good parking including for the boat.

The location was gorgeous. Great amenities and valuable folder of local information. Photos of all the kitchenware and where it should be put and numerous signage re not taking the books a bit sad. Why not have a shelf for 'book swaps' as well as 'do not take'

Wonderful house with stunning lake views
Only wish we could have stayed longer. The house is wonderful, so comfortable, super well equipped. The view of the lake is amazing and the surrounding area is beautiful. Rotarua a short drive, very convenient. Communication with Peter was great - a big thanks to him and Fiona for accommodating us for an extra night at very short notice.

Amazing property for relaxing and adventure. We did both! Views of the lake from spa, decking, kitchen/dining, lounge, bedrooms were spectacular. Clean and comfy. Loved the use of the kayaks and Mountain bike lock up. Will definitely look to book again next year!

Charming Lake Okareka Tree House
This wonderful home is situated in a beautiful hilltop location among the trees, with stunning lake views. There are wonderful lake walks close by. The layout is wonderful for indoor/outdoor living. The house is cozy and has a well appointed kitchen that is fantastic for cooking -- stocked with everything. The furniture and decor are personal and charming. We had a wonderful trip.

We had a great stay. Perfect location.
Only thing to consider is that there are alot of steps up to the house, so need to be fit to carry everything up. Keep your bags light! With this in mind, it would have been lovely to have a but more firewood actually beside the fire for when we arrived.

Peaceful retreat with stunning views
We visited this property with our three children. Reviews mention the stairs a lot, we really did not find these an issue at all. Clean property with well-equipped kitchen. Loved our stay here, would recommend this place to everyone who is willing to keep the property in order, as this clearly (and understandably) is important to the owner. The view is to die for!

Okareka Lake Views
Property was very comfortable, well maintained, and well located and we very much enjoyed our stay. Visitors need to be fit to go up and down stairs. The owners were very keen that property was well maintained by visitors. For 1st time lake visitors like us, our stay would have benefited from on site mountain bikes and kayaks being readily available (had to find all our fun which was fine but some more easy fun would be good, especially for teens)

A beautiful, well-appointed bach
Fabulous 180-degree panoramic views - the photos just don't do it justice. 10 mins drive to Rotorua for restaurants / grocery shopping etc, so very convenient. The only thing you need to bring is a portable heater. We stayed in July and the weather was very cold, and the heat didn't travel to the two smaller rooms. There are also a lot of bach rules and instructions everywhere, so you need to be ok with that. That said, it was a very comfortable stay, hot tub under the trees with a lake view was amazing, the two larger beds are very comfortable, and heavy curtains made the rooms nice and dark. We slept so well! Thank you for sharing your beautiful bach with us :)

Einfach Großartig
Ein wunderbarer Ort um Rotorua zu erkunden. Die Aussicht auf den See ist absolut großartig. In der Wohnung ist alles vorhanden, was benötigt wird, der Whirlpool ist zudem auch eine feine Sache! Von unserer Seite eine absolute Empfehlung für diese sehr originelle und liebenswerte Unterkunft!
