About this property

Southwestern dream vacation--amazing views by day and night!

Our comfy beautiful home has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, and can sleep up to 8 including the sleeper sofa in the living room. The hand-crafted dining table seats 6 and there is additional seating on 3 bar stools at the kitchen island. The home is nestled in the Organ Mountains outside of Las Cruces, NM. You will be stunned anew every morning when you wake up to the incredible mountain views, and then stay up late to watch the stars from one of the outdoor porch seating areas. If it's nice outside enjoy using our outdoor grill (additional charge; see notes), and if it's chilly relax inside in front of the gas fireplace. You'll be surrounded by nature and so close to so many parks and hiking trails, while also being a short drive from Las Cruces to experience delicious southwestern food and culture. Take a break from hectic life and take a deep breath of desert mountain air!

Note the house does have cable and internet, but we are out in the mountains and they are satellite only--so it can be spotty! If you are looking for the best place to spend a week in online meetings this may not be it. If you're coming to enjoy the great outdoors while still catching up on some emails and maybe enjoy some streaming at night, come on over!

The house has lot of space. It is a great place to stay. The pictures on the website doesn't reflect how well equipted the house is.

Definitely stay here

The pictures don't do this place justice! If you're in Las Cruces and looking for a place to stay, i highly recommend this location. We had everything we needed and more. The back porch view is so peaceful. The hosts took care of everything we needed. As soon as we walked in, we were all pleased. My in-laws (in their 70s) thanked me multiple times for my selection. We also really appreciated the check-out process. Minimal chores listed. Big fan of that. Will stay here again if we're back in the area.

Incredible Views, Peace and quiet, and comfort

This house was the perfect place for us to spend a month in Las Cruces. The house isn't too far from shopping while enough out of town to provide privacy with peace and quiet to enjoy the surrounding 360-degree views. And having two patios was pretty wonderful. If you love to hike there are so many places close by. My husband and I were the only ones there for the entire stay, but we had family come in for a few days/weeks and they all commented on the accommodations and super comfortable beds. The house is well laid out with spacious rooms and bedrooms that aren't right on top of each other giving everyone space away from others when they wanted it. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to prepare dinners "at home". Plenty of towels and linens. And the host was great. Communications were fast and responsive.

THE BEST OF THE BEST

After 20 years and more than 100 VRBO'S, this one is the BEST of the Best. Stunning views of the Organ Mountains to the East and Las Cruces to the West. Clean with a capital "C". Visited 3 National Parks and 3 National Monuments in 8 days, and spent 2 days in Organ Mtns & Desert Peaks National Monument.. All the Desert SW furniture and decor are High End. This is the first VRBO in 20 years where EVERYTHING worked and NOTHING was broken. Groceries and gas both within 7 miles, Old Mesilla with numerous Mexican restaurants and gift shops only 10 miles. Of the 10 amenities I use to rate a property, this one had 9 (no pool). AWesome beds, K, Q, 2 TW, and Samsung washer and dryer. Exceptional price and a live Coyote in the back yard. Sightseeing in every direction. Good water. Other wildlife in the Organ Mtns/Desert Peaks Natl. Monument include ORXY, Mule Deer, Gambels & Scaled Quail and the rare Mountain Lion. I could go on and on JUST BOOK IT. DW

Perfect Stay

I love it when the property is even nicer than its listing. This is a beautiful home with a beautiful view in a residential neighborhood. Quite large, with room for way more than we had, it's well equipped for cooking, visiting or just relaxing. We largely used it as a base of operations for exploring the area, eating at several of the excellent restaurants around, but maybe next time, we'll just stay in. Katie, the owner and host, was very communicative through email. We felt very well taken care of.

Cross country trip

Highly recommend

Very comfortable house, well equipped and well furnished. Bedrooms had very comfortable mattresses and bedding, and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. We loved the back porch with the view of the mountains. The location was fabulous- close to hiking, but not too far from Las Cruces downtown. Kati responded very quickly to our questions and needs! Highly recommend.:)

Home away from home

We had never been to Las Cruces or anywhere in New Mexico prior to renting this property for an extended 6 week stay and it was a most amazing experience! This home is one of the best I have stayed in in every respect. Immaculately clean, well stocked, comfortable with totally engaged, responsive host. Any issue encountered, and there were very few for a 6 week stay, were promptly addressed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily rent again. I also cannot say enough about the City of Las Cruces and the wonderfully friendly people that live there. So much to experience and enjoy from the farmer's market to the outdoor adventures to the many cultural opportunities, restaurants, wineries and breweries! An amazing place experienced from an amazingly awesome home. We'll be back, for sure! There's a reason for the consistently 5 star ratings for this property - and did I mention the mountain views and sunsets?

Mountain Getaway

Beautiful home nestled in the Organ Mountains, decorated with a New Mexico adobe theme. Loved the 2 patios, each with sun exposure at different times of the day and beautiful Mountain Views. Dripping Springs Natural area is 15 minutes away and was our favorite hiking spot. Downtown Los Cruces and the village of Mesilla is about 20 minutes away. There is a neighborhood Walmart 8 miles from the house which was convenient. Had a great stay!

Beautiful house with a beautiful view.

Location was excellent, you were a short drive from many interesting places to include Hatch NM(Chile capital of the World), White Sands National Park, Alamogordo NM, Old Mesilla Village and Dripping Spring Natural Area just to name a few. Great communications with the owner, she answered all our questions in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend this place.

Great place!

We enjoyed this beautiful, clean, and well equipped home. The location was ideal as we love hiking and utilized the trails next to the home. We also ventured to White Sands and the drive was easy. It was also a great location to enjoy the desert sunrises and sunsets!

Beautiful accommodations!

The property was immaculate and well-stocked! We enjoyed hiking the nearby mountain trails by day and relaxing by the inside fireplace in the evenings. The views were superb. Wonderful stay!

Excellent property undersold on Quality Delivered

We were in town for a Golf Tournament for NMSU, we were close to the course but able to get away to relax and have a quiet home to stay at. Hosts do a great job, thanks. Traveler Trip... make time for the sunsets, they were spectacular.

Beautiful home and wish we had stayed longer

This is an absolutely beautiful home just behind A mountain (the letter A mountain). Beautiful views and even for being in July we loved the NM weather. The AC worked well the first night but, couldn't seem keep the house below 75 degrees at night even with both units running, all ceiling fans on and all doors open for circulation. We were visiting family so really only used this place to sleep so it really wasn't an issue for us. I meant to reach out the host just to let them know for the next guest but it didn't really affect us much so I forgot. This house is so well decorated and just felt like home while we were there, very comfortable. We loved the master bedroom bed (I want that mattress!!!), jacuzzi tub and a large walk in shower with multiple shower heads that felt like luxury. We will definitely be coming back!!! It was only 15 minutes from everything and yet secluded and peaceful. We really enjoyed this place and it's definitely our favorite so far in all our traveling. The only down fall was we didn't give ourselves enough time here to spend at the house just to enjoy the serenity; when we go back I won't make that mistake again!!! I told my husband I was ready to make an offer and move in; but the host would have to leave everything just the way it is because it's just perfect the way it is and it's truly a great place to relax, enjoy & recharge. We even used the discs they had at White Sands and there were more than enough for everyone. Thank you so muvh for everything, we had a blast!!!!!!

Amazing views and location!

Absolutely wonderful home to stay at! So comfy and authentic. We were able to observe nature and wildlife right from the back patio, plus it was close to hiking trails. Grocery stores, restaurants, and medical services (if needed) were a quick drive away. The entire family loved the home and we couldn't get over the views. The host provided clear instructions to enter the home and other important information; I didn't have to contact her throughout my stay. This will definitely be the spot to stay at the next time we are in New Mexico!

Why they chose this property

Our family lives overseas for work but wanted to have a home base for when we return to the U.S. We have always loved New Mexico and were delighted to purchase this home in such an amazing part of the state. It has been the perfect dream southwestern home and each time we visit we love to spend our time hiking, wildlife viewing, and eating delicious New Mexican cuisine. This year also happened to be the perfect timing to have a home that's quite socially distanced from anyone else!

What makes this property unique

We love this home and this area for its closeness to both amazing natural adventures and also the "small city" of Las Cruces and all it has to offer. At this time, its location is even more perfect: what better place to avoid the "corona craziness" for a while than a relaxing stay up in the foothills with almost no neighbors nearby??
