GUEST INTERACTION:
I have family and some on-call staff for assistance. We may need to perform maintenance and routine groundskeeping from time to time. Otherwise we tend to allow our guests peaceful enjoyment of the space. Our digital guidebook answers most FAQs and provides information about the area.
A LITTLE ABOUT THE NEIGHBORHOOD:
The Rumbling Bald Resort is absolutely beautiful. In the mountains and on Lake Lure at the same time. The views are amazing. It is definitely a "get away from it all" kind of place, yet full of fun things to do if you choose to participate. Quaint mountain towns nearby with lots of places to hike, horseback ride, zip lining, rock climbing, boating and fishing for those that like to commune with nature and be outside.
ACCESS TO HOUSE AND RESORT:
The guests have full access to the house except for the owner's closets. There are 2 flights of stairs to get into the house. Door access is keyless. The resort is gated. Be prepared to tell the guard the property address upon arrival. Guests have full access to the Rumbling Bald Resort amenities with their included guest passes. SOME RESORT AMENITIES REQUIRE A SMALL FEE, such as mini-golf and course golf, boat rentals and tours, and spa services such as massages, hair styling, facials, nails, etc. If you rent equipment such as tennis racquets, pickle ball paddles, etc there is a small fee. Bring your own to avoid those fees. There are many activities that require no fee, so enjoy!
ABOUT THE HOUSE AND THE AREA:
Mountain A'Lure sits up on the side of Rumbling Bald Mountain. It has beautiful mountain views when the leaves are shed but it is also very pretty and private when the leaves are there. Fall is beautiful with the changing colors. The house has a wrap around porch to take in all the beauty, parking for 4-5 vehicles and is a short 2 mile golf cart or car ride down to the amenities. The house has 4 bedrooms, all with king sized beds, and one of the four bedrooms also has a queen in the room in addition to the king. There is also a fold up single bed. One king bedroom is on the main floor, two bedrooms are upstairs (one room with a king and the other with a king bed AND a queen bed AND the fold up bed) and on the ground level (bottom floor) is the fourth king bedroom. There are 3 full bathrooms and 2 half bathrooms. For the babies there is a pack and play, a high chair and a gate for the stairs. The kitchen is open to the dining area, sunroom and living room. The living room has a fireplace usable in the cooler months. A family/game room on the ground level which leads you out to the 6 person hot tub and our newly built stone patio complete with a stone fireplace to roast marshmallows and spend some time looking at the stars and enjoying the fire.

This house has 3 full baths (one on each floor) and 2 half baths (one on the middle and one on the top floor).
No parties, no trailers without prior permission. It is expected that the guest will return the property and all that is included, in the same condition in which it is received besides needing a regular cleaning and linen service. Excessive cleaning and damages will result in extra fees. Parking is limited to 3-4 cars. 2-3 Cars if they are large pickups or full size SUV.

***Please note that the entire lake is lowered by 10-12 ft January -March each year until further notice by the town of Lake Lure for maintenance. The lake can stay lower than normal for up to a month after March as it takes time to refill.
While the property is child friendly it is not necessarily child-proof. Parents will need to bring any childproofing required.
While the property is "pet friendly" there are some guidelines for pets:
1. You must tell us in advance if you plan to bring a pet or a service animal.
2. Pets 60lbs and under only, maximum of two pets.
3. Pets must be fully house trained (incontinence, behavioral). Must be crated when you are not able to supervise it.
4. Pets must be treated for fleas within a week of your stay and vaccinated.
5. There is a $20/day per pet non-refundable pet fee. It is NOT an 'extra cleaning fee'.
6. Pet owners must sign the pet agreement.
Usage of the hot tub and the on-site golf cart require liability/usage agreements which are located in the main rental agreement which you will be presented with upon booking and you AGREE TO upon signing the main rental agreement. You agree to read and understand these agreements. Please note: Guest is responsible for supplying gas for the golf cart. Empty gas cans provided.
It is recommended you purchase the accidental damage protection if offered through your booking provider. Also WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND TRAVEL INSURANCE to protect your reservation from cancellation charges if you need to cancel for any unforeseen issues.
*FOR STAYS 29 DAYS OR LONGER: We REQUIRE cleanings every 2 weeks during longer stays. The cleaning fee is much less than the departure cleaning fee at $150, however, you will be responsible for this fee for each clean during your stay. You must authorize this as a separate charge. You must also be flexible to allow our staff entry into the home for approximately 1-2 hours to perform regular cleaning tasks each time. We will coordinate the schedule directly with you. Please also note that this price does not include linens but that service is available for an additional cost. Please inquire.
You agree to the following stipulations upon booking a 5 Star Stays property:
Indemnification and Hold Harmless Policy – Guest and their other house occupants agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Owner for any liabilities, damage, cost or expense whatsoever arising from or related to any claim in connection with your use and/or occupancy of the Vacation Rental, including, but not limited to, any claim or liability for personal injury, damage, loss of personal belongings or theft of property which is made, incurred or sustained by you and/or anyone you invite to use the Vacation Rental as your guest. You stay and play at your own risk. Guests and their other house occupants agree to exercise caution in the pool and pool area, on the deck areas, and stairways. All furnishings and equipment provided are maintained to the best of our ability but since Owner has no control over what guests do or how things are used, Owner cannot guarantee functionality or safety. It is the responsibility of the guest(s) to take caution before using anything and to immediately notify the Owner if an item is not functioning properly or appears to be unsafe. Non-functioning amenities will be repaired as soon as reasonably possible therefore there is no refund promised.
Arbitration -All claims or disputes between the Guest and the Owner arising out of or relating to the Contract Agreements shall be decided by arbitration in accordance with the Construction Industry Arbitration Rules of the American Arbitration Association currently in effect unless the parties mutually agree otherwise. The award rendered by the arbitrator or arbitrators shall be final, and judgment may be entered upon it in accordance with applicable law in any court having jurisdiction thereof. If the Owner prevails the Guest shall be liable to the Owner for attorney’s fees and costs incurred by the Owner.
