Don't Do It!
The stay started off badly when we entered the code and the door wouldn't open. The opener just told us the doorlock would not open because the deadlock was stuck. After multiple attempts, we called the owner. His response was to tell us WHY it didn't open. You may not be aware, but there is salt air in Galveston and it rusts things. Very educational, but completely unhelpful. Maybe if you know your deadbolt is rusted and doesn't work you should replace it. After innumerable attempts to get in (with no help from the owner) we broke it loose...I guess. It was 80 degrees when we arrived, so we adjusted the thermostat to 72. After about 4 hours it had cooled down to a sweaty 83. We left for several hours and turn off all the lights to cool it down. That brought it down to 81. AC is mostly a joke. Advertised a hot tub. It has one...with 2 ft of water in it and it doesn't work. This could be a great house. But, it needs some maintenance which the owner is obviously unwilling to provide. If it's going to be rented then fix what is broken and be receptive to the people who are renting it. Bring it up to livable standards. I would give this a hard pass.
